Orange Poppies

Hi,

Today i have a quick card to share. I started with some paper from Authentique. I just love the orange poppies that are in this pad. I started with some pattern paper and ink the edges. I also stitched around the edge.

Next i die cut and stamped the frame and adhered it to the card front with pop up dots. I fussy cut 3 poppies and added a little brown glitter glue to each flower. I arranged the flowers to the left side of the frame.

I also used a matching embellishment that has the word love and inked the edges of it. I added it just below the poppies. Last i used some matching alphabet stickers to spell out you.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sunday's Bits & Pieces #13

Hello!

For today's Sunday's Bits & Pieces i have a super easy card. Almost everything was already done! I found in my embellishment/scrap drawer a tag that was already good to go!

The tag had doily's stamped in white on pink velum. A little pattern tape adhered to the tag. And then a flower made from cupcake cup.  I also found 2 other cupcake flowers in my drawer and since 3's the rule.....

The only thing i had to do was find the doily stamp i used on the tag. With it i stamped a background with versamark on Kraft cardstock. Next i adhered the tag and cupcake flowers and last stamped the sentiment Hello!

That's it!! Easy Peasy!!  I hope this inspires you to take a look at those you scraps you keep!

Have a great day!

Sunday's Bits & Pieces #12

Hello!

Today i have a card made just from the embellishments or paper in my scrap drawers. I found the die cut shape, already cut from Kraft cardstock and the little bird cage already stamped on pattern paper. Along with a little piece of Kraft stamped with thanks.

I stamped a dashed flower in each corner of the cardbase in linen ink. Then i stamped a boarder on the Kraft die cut shape and adhered it to the card with pop up dots. Next i adhered the cage and thanks with pop up dots and added tiny pearls to the bird cage. Last i rounded the corners

This card was fast and easy!! It's a real time saver when most embellishments are already stamped and die cut.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ashley's Baby Shower

Hello!
Today I have a great post for you …. But be warned it is long and has lots of pics!!

Last month my good friend Laura came to me with some ideas for her sister Ashley’s baby shower. Both Laura and Ashley love birds and wanted place cards and a banner with a bird theme. So I gathered all my bird stamps, dies, chipboard etc, along with some ideas for the banner and let them see what they liked best.

Laura, Ashley and their mom Nancy found some great pattern paper, cardstock and picked out a little bird for the place cards. They choose the flag style they liked, and found some lovely pink and green fabric.

The ladies also found a great idea for center pieces made from paper circle, jars, and branches!! AND they made gorgeous little bird houses!!! They were wonderful and let me see all the decorations and take pictures of everything the night before the shower.  :)

So here we go, first the tables with center pieces and place cards:

Aren't these center pieces awesome!!??!!  The circles are just die cut from the pattern paper the ladies picked out and i just added a little ink the edges. They filled the jars with pebbles, moss and the branches. Then wrapped the jars with burlap, raffia, and ribbon. From the same pattern paper i used my cricut to cut small birdies and they are just tucked in between the raffia and burlap.

And here are some close ups of the jars:

Oh these little bird houses are so cute!! No two are a like!! Laura, Ashley and Nancy did a great job!!!

Close ups of the a few placecards in my light tent:

Ashely picked out the font used for the place cards and for the banner. She also picked out the little bird. You can also better see some of the pattern paper that they picked out. This little birdie is a chipboard piece. I traced, cut out and then inked up each birdie.

Next up is the banner. It was tied across the fireplace. At each end of the fireplace are 2 more branch and jar decorations, each with a pink bird. In front of the fire place the ladies used antique birdcages filled with moss and bird nest with eggs! Ashley picked out the fabric i used for the the letters and the little birdie in the middle is the same bird i used for the jar birdies.

The banner is my favorite part! Each flag is adjustable on the twill ribbon. After the baby shower it is going in the baby's room!

Last i am sharing a couple pics of the card made for Ashley. I messed up making a few placecards and i used one of the mistakes to make the bird on the card (same used in the jars & banner). I had 2 small scraps of fabric and  I sewed them across the card front, bunching as i went. A little bit of twine, tiny tag and a small button add a few finishing touches.

Wow, are you still with me? I think this is my longest post ever!! Thanks for sticking to the end!!

CAS-ual Friday's and Sunday's Bits & Pieces #11

Hello!

Today i have a card for this weeks CAS-ual Friday's challenge and it includes a piece of scrap pattern paper from my scrap drawer.  The challenge at CAS-ual Friday is to use a sentiment prominently on your card. For my card i used a nice big Thank You stamped in black ink.

I stamped a flower 3 times on my pattern paper scrap, it is Kraft with a white scroll like pattern. I stamped the flower with versamark and embossed in with clear powder. I cut out the flower and cut each petal to the center. To clean up the cut job, i used some sand paper around the edges. Then i inked the edge of each petal.

After curling each petal a little with my fingers i layered them and adhered a epoxy embellishment and black rhinestones in the flower center. Last i adhered it to the card front and lightly inked the edges of the card.

Have a great day!

Liebster Blog Award

Hello!

Tonight i have a quick card to share but first i received some very nice love from fellow blogger and card maker Barb!! I love, love her cards, her humor and well... she's just darn sweet!! Please stop by her blog here, i know she will soon be a favorite of yours!! Thank you, Barb and thank you for all your kind words and inspiration!!

What is the Liebster Blog award? Here is a quick explanation. 'Liebster' is German for 'dearest'. The award is a 'share-the-love' arrangement, given to inspirational bloggers with less than 200 followers (based on Google followers).

Here's the to-do list of any Liebster award recipient:
1) Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you
2) Reveal your five blogger picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog
3) Copy and paste the award on your blog (see above)
4) Hope that those you award forward it to their favorite bloggers

I stalk... i mean read :) a lot of blogs so it was really hard to choose just 5, but in no particular order here they are:

Ulina - http://apricotbubbles.blogspot.com/
Deb - http://debstampslife.blogspot.com/
Kelly - http://kellystamps.blogspot.com/
Joyce - http://cards-by-the-sea.blogspot.com/

My card today is for a friend and coworker who is expecting her first child in August. A few friends (and coworkers) are getting her a small pre-shower gift as she just learned she is having a boy!

It was a quick easy card, stamped the elephant and sentiment on muslin fabric. Trimmed and distressed the pattern cardstock and added a little ink. A little stitch over the ribbon and fabric and wha-la a baby card!

Stop by this weekend i did some baby shower decorations for a friends sister and i get to see the set up tomorrow night! So i'll be back this weekend with a long, picture filled post!!

Have a great night!

CAS-ual Friday's - Hey Baby!

Hello!

Tonight i have a quick post for CAS-ual Friday's Challenge and my Sunday's Bits & Pieces. It's been one of those weeks, i'm posting a bit late today, but i'll make it quick because i still have lots to do.

The challenge at CAS-ual Friday's to make a baby card and i am definitely in the baby mood, i am finishing up a baby shower project. I used scraps from the projects, paper and fabric.

I started with green cardstock strips left over from the place cards. I stamped a hounds tooth background in versamark and green ink, rounded the corners and adhered them to the card.

From a scrap of fabric i cut out a little bird and used interfacing to make it a little stiff. I added a twine french knot for the birdie eye and adhered it to the card with pop up dots. Last i stamped Welcome Little One in green ink above the bird.

Thanks for stopping by! And i'll be back in a day or two with some more cards and some cool news!!
