Tropical Wedding

Hey there!

Long time no see!!  :) I'm moving in 3 weeks, so i've been spending a lot of time packing and organizing. I have also been making cards!! Lots of projects for friends and design team!! So to kick off what i have been making i have 2 wedding cards i made for friends at work.

One card was used for the wedding shower and the other for the whole office to sign and give to the bride to be. The theme for the wedding shower was pink, orange and tropical. So for one i went with a little more tropical, the other, same colors but a little bit more elegant.

The first one i used a flower stamp, that was the closet i had to a tropical flower. I found some cardstock in pink and orange, and stamped the flower and embossed it in white. I cut them out and added some embellishment to the centers. I also used markers to darken some of the flowers.

Next i made by cardbase, then inked up a background stamp in pink and orange. I stamped it off once on scrap paper then stamped it again on the card base. I added the sentiment Happily Ever After in a dark tan color.

Last i added the flowers, die cut leaves and twine to the card front.

For the second card i die cut fabric with PTIs card base-ics die and stamped the background with pink and orange ink. I did the same thing with mat stack 1, but i didn;t ink the background.

I used a heart die and cut out hearts from pink, orange and white cardstock. I pieced together the hearts to make it look like the hearts coming together at the white part. I adhered the heart to mat stack 1.

I adhered mat stack 1 to the card base-ic along with wrapping twine around the card base-ic. I stamped the sentiment along the bottom and then adhered the card base-ic the cardbase. Then last i rounded the corners.

Thanks for stopping by!

I started with a lime green cardbase and matted it with some black & white pattern paper. I added black twill ribbon to the card front.

Next i die cut two layers of Mat Stack 1. On the white layer i stamped the sentiment in black ink then i stamped a hydrangea image with versamark ink. I then embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Then i used a green marker to color the spaces in the stamp that were not embossed. I adhered the Mat Stack layers to the card front and added a green button.

Sunday's Bits & Pieces #19

Hi!

Hope your weekend is going good! I wish tomorrow wasn;t Monday!! :)  Today i have a card made from paper scraps.... not earth shattering i know, but at least another idea for using up paper scraps!! In addition to this card i made another to enter into Paper Crafts Gallery Idol!

The first thing i did was punch a whole bunch of butterflies from green, purple and blue paper. Next i die cut some Kraft and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

Then i arranged the butterflies to my liking and the adhered them. Last i added the die cut shape with pop up dots.

For the next card i inked up the background stamp with distress inks and gave it a couple spritz's with pearlized water. Next i stamped 'You' and the sentiment 'need to remember never, ever give up.'

Last i pierced to holes at the bottom of the stamped image and threaded twine and tied a bow.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!!

CAS-ual Friday: Feathered Friends

Hi!

Today i have a card for this weeks CAS-ual Friday's challenge, birds. This challenge is perfect, i have a good friend who LOVES birds and her birthday is coming up next month, so i made the card with her in mind.

I started with a die cut bird and very lightly traced it on watercolor paper. Then i stamped and embossed a text scrip. Then i just started pulling different stamps, swirls, flowers, damask and things. I stamped out patterns using earth tone distress inks.

Once everything was stamped i used the same inks and a dried baby wipe and added color to the backgrounds. Then i spritz some pearlized water and used my finger to spread the ink around a bit. Of course with the water my stamped images blurred a little, but that's the look i was looking for so it was ok.

While that was drying i made my cardbase (5 x 7) and on another piece of kraft i traced the bird and then sewed around it. I used a craft knife and cutout the inside part of the bird to make a bird window.

I added pop up dots to back side of the bird and adhered it to the watercolor paper. I trimmed away the extra watercolor paper. Last i added a red heart to the bird.

Sunday's Bits & Pieces #18

Hi!

This weeks Bits & Pieces features a tag that i saved from a pair of jeans. The tag was nice and sturdy, chipboard like. I am also entering this into Paper Crafts Gallery Idol, so i did an encouragement card.

I adhered some pattern paper to the tag, after a little sanding, i inked the edges. I cut an X in the paper and pushed in into circle of the grommet. Next i threaded some flower trim through the whole tied it with some black twine in a bow.

I stamped and embossed 'you' in white on the tag. I stamped the rest of the sentiment on a banner and adhered it to the tag. I cut another flower and used some thread to make the bloom smaller and added it to the tag.

Below the banner i added 3 purple buttons. I also added a light purple pearl button to the top flower. Last i adhered the tag to a black card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a great Mother's Day! I have a collection of Mother's Day cards to show you. I had a coworker ask for some cards this past Monday and brought in the few that i had along with some other cards that had sentimental sentiments. I sold all but one!!

Then.... i had a request for a custom card along with requests for more Mother's day cards. So the rest of the week i have been making a bunch of cards! One night i make 3!! Since i had to make so many i used the new Card Creations Vol 10 magazine, i made similar cards using supplies that i had.

I'm not going to give all the details for each card, but if you have any questions, please email! I'm also just going to show the new ones that i made this past week! :)

First up is the card i made for my mom (I'll be calling her later today!) Her favorite color is yellow and she loves daisy's.

Next is a custom card. My friend wanted flowers and purple.

And last are the new cards i made this week!

Happy Mother's Day!!
