Love You Still

Hey there!!

Well yesterday it got to 40 degrees!! Yep i said 40!!! By afternoon i didn;t even need a jacket!! Of course now we are swimming with all the melting snow, and there is still a ton of snow left to melt!! And today its going to rain!! But don't worry winter is not over!! Next week its cold again! Yay!! (can you detect the sarcasm??!?!  :D )

Anyway today have a card i made for Wplus 9 Designs Birthday Celebration. The challenge is Trends, and i picked sequins! I have some really really old ones that are mainly primary colors, but late last year i got a pack of hologram ones from Neat & Tangled and they included a sample pack (isn;t that nice?!?!). This sample pack (as i call it) has lots of different colors and sizes of sequins, and wouldn;t you know i use those sequins the most. In fact i have yet use the pack that i bought!! :) Funny how things happen like that!!

I started my card by using the watercolor technique i saw on Wplus 9's blog last week. I colored the wreath with my distress markers, using 2 greens and 2 pinks. Then i sprayed the stamp with pearlized water and stamped it on watercolor paper.

I did the same thing with the sentiment inside the wreath and the banner. For the sentiment in the banner, i didn;t use water because the font is really small and fine and you have to be able to read it you know! :D

I really really like the look of this!! I have a feeling i will be doing this a lot!!! So anyway i trimmed the watercolor panel and mounted it on my card base with foam tape. Last i added a few sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Dana

  3. ....sighhh...Such a lovely card that you had me breathless, then sighing deeply at how stunning it truly is! Your water-colour images are exquisitely delicate, with the sequins adding to the "wow"! The mint background: PERFECT canvas to showcase the wreath, I'm calling winner with this one! Thank you for letting me know about your card + my comment pairing! I agree with the folks who selected your card: it's a humdinger of awesomeness!! Hope you're staying inside, dry and cozy!

  5. On weather: we've had 70 cm of snow since Sunday, and this morning I read that statistically we receive 37% of our yearly snowfall AFTER this date. I could cry. The snowbanks are over my head already!
