Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps
I started by inking up the big Congrats sentiment with white ink, i had to stamp it twice to get good opaque coverage! Next i stamped my flowers! For the centers i used the retro circle (a solid circle with a smaller one inside it) from the Big Chatter set. For the petals i used a small solid stamp that is from the new Fly By set.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I inked the flower centers with yellow ink and the petals with purple ink, using pigment ink for both colors! Then i used the 3 dots from Fly By ink them up with watermark ink.

Once everything was dry (and i didn't smudge anything, there by ruining the card, hehehe!) i added white sequins!

Be Inspired Challenge #53 - Take 1

Hi!

Today i have a card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge #53 Week 2! Its a good one with rainbows!!!  Make sure you stop by and play along, there are prizes to be one and even a guest DT spot for the Be Inspired Challenge!! Here is the inspiration photo:

When i first thought of rainbows and TAWS stamps i think of the set True Colors, not only does it have some great images that go great with rainbows but also great sentiments!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

So i wanted to do something similar with the white on each rainbow color, like the photo and what better to make white on color really stand out but white embossing powder!! I started by pulling out my pigment ink to make my rainbow. I used the biggest and longs point swipe in the set and stamped it repeadidtly in each color. Since i used pigment ink i left it to dry over night, that way my embossing powder would not stick were i didn;t want it to!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i used the sentiment Add a Little Color to Every Day. I only stamped one or two words per line, masking off the words i didn;t need to stamp at the time. Then i embossed them with white embossing powder. I added a white enamel dot at the end, kind of like a period. Last i round the bottom corners.

I hope you will stop by the Be Inspired blog and play along!! Thanks for stopping by!!

The Alley Way Stamps - Sneak Peek #2

Hi!!

Today i'm popping in with a Sneak Peek for you!! New stamps are coming courtesy of The Alley Way Stamps! YAY!!! And your going to LOVE this months selection!! The set i'm Sneaking is Crossing Lines!! (there also might be another stamp from the release on this card, but shhhh! Don't tell!! hehe!!)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Crossing Lines is an awesome set with lots of options!! (you'll just have to wait till Saturday to see it!!) I used a couple stamps from the set to make my background. I embossed some lines in clear embossing powder and some in white (not that you can tell in the photo or really in person). The second set of lines were over already stamped and embossed lines, so you get a textured/aged look to them! I thought there would be a bit more difference between the clear embossed lines and the white embossed lines, but that didn't happen! lol!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

While the background was cooling, i stamped the cut little bug and embossed him with clear embossing powder. I colored him with two greens and a purple distress markers. I also added some purple around him to help the clear embossing pop! I did the same thing with the Get Well sentiment (only used the purple though). I cut both out and set them aside.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I used the same colors to add some color to the background that wasn;t embossed. Then i die cut 3 small tags and adhered them across my card base. To hid the 'tag' part of the tags (the holes of each tag), i wrapped a purple ribbon around my panel and tied it into a bow. Last i added the sentiment and little bug to my card base with foam dots!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

You are going to love this set!! (i can't seam to put it down!!) For a chance to win Crossing Lines check out the other DT projects and leave a comment on The Alley Way Stamps blog post!! And don't forget to come back Saturday for the Hop and Reveal!!

Welcome Little One

Hi!!

I hope everyone at a lovely long weekend!! (at least everyone in the US!!) We had great weather here in Michigan and of course lots of great food! But its the start of a new week and have to get back at it!! It also means the start of my second summer class - Precalculus!! Ugh!! Its going to be a tough couple months that i am not looking forward to, but i got to do and i have to pass!! Ok enough of that!! On to the card!!!

I decided to make a baby card for my stash and i wanted to do a little watercoloring! To use soft yet bright colors i decided to use PTI inks as my watercolors!  To start i stamped one of the star backgrounds from Star of the Show set from The Alley Way Stamps. I stamped it with versamerk ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps
Then i stamped 4 of different baby images from Nap Time (are these not the CUTEST baby images, like ever?!?!) hehehehe, anyway i pulled out my PTI inks and experimented to find the right mix of colors. Generally a light and dark color, then with some water colored the images. I cut them out and set the aside.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I used the darkest colors from the images to do my background. First i used big brush to wet down my star panel, then i pressed the ink pads onto clear blocks. With a wet paint brush i picked up each color and dabbed it around randomly. When the ink was down i brushed the panel with a wet brush to mix the colors, adding color to particular areas if they needed it!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

For my sentiment i found a already cut double ended banner. I stamped the Welcome Little One sentiment and added it to my panel with foam dots. I did the same with the baby images once i liked there arrangement. Last i rounded the corners!

I love how the colors turned out!! I hope everyone has a great week! Make sure you stop by later this week as we have a new The Alley Way Stamps release coming up!!

Always an Adventure!

Hi!!

I hope everyone is have a great week so far!! I just had a test yesterday so know i can relax a little till the next one!! Today i am sharing a card for Keep It Simple challenge, the theme is Maritime. I pulled out The Alley Way Stamps Kid N Caboodle set and some Elle's Studio supplies.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

First i cut some blue Chevron pattern paper and wrapped some twine around it; tying it in a knot. From the same Elle's Studio collection i found the Always an Adventure element and thought that would go nicely with my maritime theme.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i stamped the boat from Kid N Caboodle on the other side of the blue paper, its a very light grey. I colored the ship with distress markers and cut it out. Then i found a wood veneer piece and added the boat and sentiment strip with foam dots. Last i just adhered the panel to my card base!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope to show more cards that are piling up on my desk!!

HB2U Pop

Hi!!

I'm popping in real fast for a card i made for The Curtain Call Challenge! The challenge is called Pajama Party and here is the inspiration photo:

So i remembered i had these little pattern bags and i pulled out the package and yay it had red and blue ones. When i saw the red one, i thought about popcorn, like the one in the inspiration photo. The tricky part?!?! I don't have a popcorn stamp!! However, that was not going to stop me!! I went through my TAWS stamps and sure enough i found a stamp that kind of resembled popcorn (to me any way!! hehehe!)

I found the puff of smoke in the Bubbling Over set (see the red circle below) and thought without the spout it kind of looked enough like popcorn to work. I stamped one, cut off the spout and liked it!! I stamped several more and added some shading with a grey copic marker.

Next i used a stripe stencil and my ink applicator to color the card base. I made the bottom right darker and lighter toward to opposite corner. Then i stamped the HB2U on a small piece of white paper and notched one end. I spelled out and stamped Pop on another piece, notching that end too!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

The the red stripe bag was to tall for my card so i made note of where i wanted it, then scored it and folded it behind it and adhered it with some double sided tape. I stapled the sentiments to the bag and then added it to my card base with foam dots. Last i added the 'popcorn' to the bag and had 2 following out to one side!

Love, Love, Love

Hi!

I'm popping in again with my last card for Gallery Idol. This one i did yesterday, i was looking at one of my duds and got this idea. I tried it out and  i think it turned out very good!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I used wood tape, its a very thin wood with adhesive on the back. Very similar to washi tape, but its wood! I cut several strips to cover my card base. Then i used the only word die that i had that would fit on the tape, the word love. I die cut the word on each strip, varying the placement each time.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

When the die cutting was done i added the wood tape to the card base. I also added the free floating pieces of the word die to each word. Next i die cut love one more time from some scrap red card stock. I added it to one of the loves.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Last i added a few enamel dots to add a little dimension. When i finished the card i realized that i didn't use any stamps!! Shocking i know!! hehe!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Hello!!!

I have a card that i made for Tuesday Morning Sketches, i saw the sketch on Jessi's blog and it looks like it would be a lot of layers and details. But i was looking at it and thinking how can i make this sketch CAS and still follow the sketch. Well the other day i was crafting and decided to tackle the challenge!!

All the elements are from my extra do-dad dish, the twist in the challenge is to use flowers and i knew i had some (ok lots, hehe) in the dish! I found 4 that matched and where the right size. I also found a kraft bow die cut.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

For the scallop i found half of one in my dish, but it was white so..... i used Kraft ink to color it so it would match the kraft theme i have going on! Next i used a gold pen to sketch out a rectangle, similar to the sketch. I also used the pen to add some detail to the bow and flower centers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I adhered the scallop then the flowers and bows. And of course one flower got away, so i had this glue spot that i had to covered, hence the butterfly! Last i used the gold pen to ink up my thanks stamp and stamped it below the rectangle!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
