Hi there!!

Yay!! Its time for The Alley Way Stamps October Blog Hop!!! That means its release time and we have some fun new stamps!!! Three new sets plus a mini set free with a $40 purchase! There is also a chance to win all three new sets!! (details below)

I used the new Snow Daze set, a perfect snowflake stamp set!! I started with some dark brown card stock (it was leftover from my sneak card!) i thought it would make a wonderful non traditional winter card!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I stamped one of the snowflakes with versamark ink all over the card base, then embossed it with this white and gold glitter embossing powder i have. I also did NOT use my antistatic bag before embossing! I did this because i wanted the little embossing pieces to be all over my card stock! I think it helps the snowflakes look even more like well... snowflakes!! :D

Next i pulled out this lovely sparkly white gold ribbon. I think i picked it up at Micheal's in the wrap department last year! Its is a gorgeous color!!! I adhered three strips of it, near the bottom of my card base.

I die cut a tiny tag and stamped the Merry & Bright from the also new stamp set All Wrapped Up in versamark ink. I embossed it with white embossing powder (using my antistatic bag first) :D I added a little bit of ribbon to the top of the tag and then used my scissors to curl the long tails. Last i added the tag to my card base with foam dots!!

I really love how sparkly and elegant this card turned out!!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

So anyway i intended to make a Christmas card, however it ended up going in the other direction! I did use Christmas pattern paper! I pulled out an Authentique 6 x 6 pad and decided on this lovely Nordic like pattern for the card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i stamped three of the feathers from Tickle Me Happy on three other pattern in the same pad. I cut them out and then set them aside. I used some dark brown card stock and cut a tag. Next i used one of the sentiments from the Tickle Me Happy set and embossed it on the tag with white embossing powder.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
To spruce up my card base pattern paper i decided to stencil over it. I pulled out a damask stencil and used distress ink to ink the stencil. I also added a little ink to the edge of my feathers. I tied the ends of the feathers together with black twine, then adhered them to the top of the tag. Last i added the tag to my card base with foam dots!

Happy Halloween

Hi there!!

I'm popping in with a card i made for the new Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge, they are on their second challenge. The challenge is a tic tac toe, i choose Die Cut (the Halloween), Twine/Ribbon (the tiny black twine bows), and Polka-Dots (the background pattern paper).

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp
I played with some new SSS goodies, i started with the polka-dot background. I stamped the cute kitty on a stripe pattern and a green and polka dot pattern. I also stamped the kitty on dark brown and then cut her out. I also cut out the cape from the stripe pattern and then the mask from the green polka dots. Add the cape and mask to my brown kitty and wa-la a dressed up kitty!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp

I went through my stash and decided to use a Polaroid cut out from Jillibean. I cut a small piece of black card stock to create a ground in my Polaroid. To make sure i had twine or ribbon on my card, i tied 3 tiny black bows to the Polaroid. I also die cut and stamped the Eat Drink and be Scary sentiment.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp
I die cut Halloween from black card stock and add it to the Polaroid. I stamped the tiny happy in black ink just above the die cut. I adhered the sentiment, black ground and kitty to my card base, then added the Polaroid over it with foam dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Be Extinct

Hi!!

I'm sharing a card i made for the STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #20. Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

As you can see i took a few liberties with the sketch! Flipped it on it side AND made the strips wide.... like almost wide as the card base! :) Hey i was having fun and i was dealing with a cold so ..... i went with it!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by stamping a piece of white card stock with several of the small images from the The Alley Way Stamps new September release. I cut the panel in to four pieces, then ....... decided to die cut a heart from the strips. I adhered the strips to my white card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i stamped, colored and cut out one of the dinos from the Livin' Fossils. I added the dino to my card base with foam dots. Last i stamped a sentiment from the new Prehistoric set, i stamped it in brown inside the die cut heart.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

For You

Hi there!!

Today i'm sharing a The Alley Way Stamps card with you! I made it this past weekend, though i wanted to get started on it earlier in the week, buuuutttt...... thanks to a cold i didn;t feel like doing anything creative until the weekend! I'm almost over the cold luckily! I'm getting darn tired of blowing my nose every five minutes!! :D

But anyway i needed some inspiration so i wondered around the web looking at challenges and i found one that had a photo prompt that featured apples, however the challenge itself was over! So i wondered around until i found the STAMPlorations blog (i don't have any of their stamps, but luckily you can still play along!)! I've been meaning to play along for awhile, i've been seeing lots of awesome cards on Carol's blog, and this weekend was the day to do it!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
The challenge is to use stamps & markers, i used both ... not all equally, but hey what can i say, i was lucky to get something done!! :D

I started by stamping the jar from the Buggin Out stamp set on vellum. I stamped it with grey pigment ink and then clear embossed it, then cut i out. Next i stamped several small apples from Tag Alongs. I colored them up with distress markers and cut them out too!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I didn't plan it, but i ended up making a shaker jar.... kind of! I didn;t use any foam adhesive for my shaker but instead just placed my apples on vellum, added glue to the very edge of the jar (behind the stamped jar line) and placed it over the apples. A little weight and once dry, a quasi shaker jar!! I found a tiny die cut tag in my extras bowl and stamped For You from the Got It Covered stamp set. I added the tag to the jar with some brown and white bakers twine.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I pulled out some pattern paper, inked the edge and added it to my card base. I also cut a stitched rectangle, inked the edge and added it to my card base with foam dots. Last i adhered the jar to the rectangle.

So there you have it, my cold induced take on the stamps & markers challenge over at STAMPlorations!! :D

Thanks for stopping by!!

Be Inspired Challenge #57 - Take 1

Hello!!

Today i have a card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge. Instead of one photo for inspiration we have 4 different photos from which you can glean some inspiration from!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I got my inspiration from the paint can lids! I went through my ink collection and picked out a few colors that matched the photos colors. I pressed, swiped and dabbed the ink onto various scrap white card stock. (i used both dye and pigment inks)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Then i pulled out 2 different sized circle punches and punched a few circles from each color. Next it was all about playing!! I moved the circles around this way and that way until i decided that stamping a sentiment in the center and placing the circles around the sentiment was the way to go.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I decided to use some pattern paper and i found some wide grey stripe pattern paper. I first placed the circles around the center then i added them to by card base with foam dots. I trimmed any that went past the edge.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Next i stamped the sentiment Always Here for You from the Speak Easy stamp set. I thought it still needed something so i added some black, gray and clear rhinestones.

I hope you will play along with us at the Be Inspired Challenge! I can't wait to see what you make!!

You're a Rare Breed

Hi!!

Today i'm sharing a card feature some of the new September stamps from The Alley Way Stamps!! I also used a stencil and some distress ink! I haven't used my distress inks on white card stock in a while and wow they are so bright against the white!!

Edited to Add: Carol pointed out that over at CAS-ology the cue word is Grass! And guess what? I have a Dino dancing on some grass!! :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by placing my stencil over the card base. I used 3 colors to ink in the chevron pattern. I stamped, colored and cut out the cute dino from Livin' Fossils. I colored him and some grass with various distress markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i die cut a label shape and stamped a sentiment from the Rock Solid stamp set. Last i added the label, grass and dinosaur to my card base with foam dots.

Waffle Flower Challenge August/September 2014 - Take 2

Hi!

Today i'm sharing a card for the Waffle Flower Challenge! I hope you will play along, you have plenty of time!! The challenge is easy, you can pick the sketch or the technique or combine both into one card or project!!

I decided to do the technique challenge this time around and build a scene. I had a idea in my head but i wasn;t sure how it was going to turn out, so i was glad that it turned out ok!! (sure beats have to come up with another plan and start over!!!) :D

To start i die cut a tag from white card stock (i decided to make my scene on an ornament!). I cut a slight wave from a post it note and i added it to the bottom of the tag. I pulled out two shades of grey dye ink and i inked the top part of the tag, kind of leaving the center a little lighter since that is were i planned for my houses to go. I added a little bit of black distress ink over my grey ink.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower

Next i stamped various stars and dots from A Homemade Christmas and Starry Night. I used the grey and black ink and sometimes stamping off before stamping on the tag. I removed the post it note and then used an anti static bag, very heavily as i didn't want the embossing powder to stick to my inked background.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower

I stamped the houses and trees with versamark ink and then embossed them in white. I also stamped a tiny star on each tree and embossed them with yellow embossing powder. I decided i wanted snow in my sky, but i didn;t want to use a white pen, i wasn;t sure how it would turn out so instead i tried something else.... which i didn;t know how that would turn out either... so i could have still messed it up!! hehehe!!

But anyway i got my snow by sprinkling on the white embossing powder with my fingers. After a little trial and error i found that if you heat the sprinkled powder from underneath the tag, that it must melt the bottom of the powder just enough that you then heat from the top with out the powder going everywhere!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower

Once i was done embossing i stamped the Merriest Wishes sentiment from A Homemade Christmas set in black ink. I also traced my wave with some opaque liquid pearl.

To make the tag thick and less flimsy i made my own tag chipboard by cutting several tags from cereal boxes, glued 4 or so layers together, then added my stamped and emboss tagged on top. (i have several of these chipboard tag's glue together already just waiting for a fancy top!)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower

I added some grey ribbon to the top to make it an ornament that can be hung on the Christmas tree. To give the ornament as a gift and a card all in one, i placed a stencil over a white card base and lightly inked it with grey dye ink. I added the tag to the card base by folding over the ribbon and adhere it with Scotch tape. The recipient can easily peel off the tape and hang the ornament!!

I can't wait to see your take on these challenge, i hope you will play along with us at the Waffle Flower Challenge!!
