The Alley Way Stamps November Blog Hop

Hello!!

Yipee! It's time for The Alley Way Stamps November Blog Hop!!! That means its release time and we have some fun new stamps!!! Three new sets plus a mini set free with a $40 purchase!! There is also a chance to win all new sets!! (details below)

My card today features the new set Line Upon Line! This an awesome background set, its nice and big!! I pulled out a big piece of watercolor paper.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I pulled out four different distress markers, a purple, green, dark blue and a light blue and i randomly colored the lines on the stamp. Next i spritzed the stamp once or twice with pearlized water. I set the panel aside to dry.

This months free with $40 purchase mini stamp set has the sentiment Sparkle, and since my background would sparkle when its dry, i thought this was the perfect sentiment. I also decided to pull out last months new set Snow Daze and use the sentiment Shine, Sparkle and Shine just go together!!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

But i needed an And (the symbol), only i didn;t really want to stamp it, so i looked through my embellishments and stickers and of course i had nothing the right size or color. Then it hit me!!  I have wonderful thing called a Silhouette Cameo!! It of course will cut an And in the size and the color i need!!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Once my stamped background was dry i trimmed a little strip in the lower half of the panel. I added the top part to a dark brown card, base and then added the strip just a little below it and then finally the the bottom part (trimming off any overhang).
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I stamped the sentiments twice so they would show up better on the busy background. The And was cut from purple glitter paper and added to the card with foam tape.  So even though you can't see it very well in the picture the background and the purple And sparkles and shines!!

Organizing the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Foams - A Tutorial

Hi!!

Today i'm sharing my craft room for Craft Storage Ideas: Show Us Your Happy Place Event! I shared it a few weeks ago, you can see all my photo's here.

Below is a photo of my part of the craft room, the arrow is pointing how i organize my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Foams. I've seen that many people have a blending tool and foam for each color, however i don;t have the space for that!! So i came up with a handy way to keep a foam pad for each color ink and keep it handy (i tend to use stuff if i can see it!)

So here are a couple close up's of my system, along with a little tutorial!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Organizing Ranger Mini Blending Foams

I used a metal die to cut a bunch of tags from white card stock. From a local craft store i bought some Velcro stuff and cut the hook side into small squares/rectangles, then i added some glue to the wrong side of Velcro.

Placed the Velcro down close to one side of the tag (you will see why in a second!).

Added a little weight while the glue dried.

When the glue was dry i write in the brand and name of the ink under the Velcro (i don't do it for the distress ink, because well i know the brand! LOL, but i do for other brands).

Then add the blender foams to the Velcro.

Some colors of course will rub off, but the tag before them catches the color.

I use the blender foams with pigment ink too!! They are not just for dye ink!!! ;)

I love how this dosen't take up much room, its easy to do and its expandable. So far i only have the colors that i have actually used and as i use other colors i will do up more tags. When the ring gets full i'll get another one and split the colors up (maybe one will be cool colors the other warm) into two different rings!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!! Also don;t forget about my giveaway, you can check it out here, you still have till Friday to enter!! Tomorrow i'll be back with the The Alley Way Stamps November Release Blog Hop!!

Pile of Fun

Hi there!!!

I'm popping in with a fall card today! I had to get this card up because fall is on the way out (rumors are going around about snow on Halloween!!!) I have another fall card to share soon too! So i have to get cracking before its no longer fall!!

I am entering this card in Marker Pop's Anything Goes Challenge.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Darcie's Heart & Home
I stamped the cute image in brown versafine ink. I colored the image with distress markers and a little bit of water. Of course i used water color paper or the ink wouldn;t spread. Next i stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Darcie's Heart & Home

I used a stitched rectangle die to cut the stamped panel. I found some brown and polka dot pattern paper that i thought was fall like, i added the paper to a card base. The panel then went on top with foam tape.

Last i added a few enamel dots in two of the corners, i thought about added a little sparkle to the leaves, but figured more was less.

Thanks for stopping by!!

The Alley Way Stamps - Sneak Peek #1

Hello!!!

Its the first day of Sneak Peeks over at The Alley Way Stamps!! The November release only a few days away! Today i'm showing a sneak of the new Making Holiday Bright!

This is a great versatile set! You can go holiday, or something for any day!! I decided to make a sun to go with the sentiment A Ray of Sunshine.

I started by taking a circle die cut and placing it over the bottom left corner, then i traced the circle. I used this as a guide when i stamped the rays.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Next i inked up one of the big triangle with dye ink. I used an array of colors from light yellow to dark orange. I started with a medium orange and then inked the edges with a darker orange. I did this multiple times around the circle i traced. I continued to do this using lighter oranges/yellows each time around.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I found some orange card stock that matched my ink and i die cut it with my circle die. I inked the edge of the circle with the darker orange ink. Then i stamped the sentiment and then embossed it with white embossing powder. I added the circle to my card base with foam tape and then cut off the excess. Last i added a few orange and white sequins.

Thanks

Hi!!

How is every one's Monday going!! Wishing you could turn back the clock to the weekend?!? I sure do!! I got a lot done, lots of cards and school stuff done! Today i'm sharing one of those cards!

I made it for the Lawnscaping Challenge #92 - Halloween or Color Combo. I went with the color combo of orange, black and purple for my card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn
I started with a purple card base and used a stencil and black embossing paste. I set it aside to dry and meanwhile i cut and stamped the fox. I used orange card stock for the fox and colored the tail and face with a white pen. I also added a few lines with a versamark pen.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

Next i cut a small stitched rectangle from black card stock. I used the white pen to add some lines, dots and dashes around the rectangle. I also cut a strip of black card stock and stamped the Thanks sentiment with versamark ink and then embossed it in white.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

Then i stamped the sentiment again on orange card stock. I cut out the tiny rectangles in the sentiment and glued them to my embossed sentiment.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

When the background was dry i added the black stitched panel and then added the Thanks strip with foam tape. I also added the fox and few orange sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with a Sneak Peek of the new release from The Alley Way Stamps.

Shine On

Hello!!

I'm stopping by with a new The Alley Way Stamps card!! I whipped this card just yesterday, i was procrastinating about getting a card done and then i saw that the Cure for the Monday Blue's Challenge was extended for a week and i thought hmmm this is a nice photo, so i started planning my card!! (you have until Sunday to play along too!!)

Here's the photo inspiration:

I started by stamping and embossing (in white) a TAWS background stamp over a panel of vellum. After the whole panel was covered i used a craft knife and randomly cut out the inside of some of the triangles. Buuuuttt.... When i placed it over the gold metallic cardstock i was going to use, you could barely see the gold through the cut outs. So i tried cutting the outside of some triangles, but that didn;t work out at all! So i trimmed off the top part of the panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I adhered the small triangle vellum panel to the gold card stock. I added a strip of white card stock with foam tape after i stamped the sentiment Shine On. Next i die cut a circle from white card stock and stamped a snowflake from Snow Daze. I stamped the snowflake in very light pink, added a enamel triangle to the snowflake center and then added the circle to my panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

At this point i had to go to class. When i came back i added the panel to a white card base. And i was looking at the snowflake, the pink was really really really light! Since i already had the enamel triangle in the snowflake center i couldn;t stamp the snowflake again with a darker ink. So i used a light grey Copic marker and colored in the snowflake (it helped a little, but its still on the light side!!)

That's all from me today!! Thanks for stopping by and i hope you will stop by tomorrow! There will be lots of inspiration and giveaway's (yes that's plural!!) :D

Fall and Christmas

Hi there!!

Today i'm sharing two cards, yep ... two cards!! Lawnscaping Challenge Blog is having a design team call, so i'm give it a go! A long shot, but well you never know!! I got to playing and couldn't stop with just one card!! The challenge is to show your style! Yeah... my style... i really don;t know how to describe my style. I lean CAS, but not always. I like to color, do different techniques, layer... When i make cards i do what i like to do and i don;t really worry about it fitting in a particular style. :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn
I'm going to keep my description short and sweet! I first made a card with a fall color scheme. I inked up the tree branch with a light brown pigment ink, then inked the edges with a darker brown ink. I did the same thing with the owl, only used orange and brown inks. I used the matching die cut for the owl and a stitched rectangle for the branch.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I found some pattern paper that looked a little fallish to me and cut it with a large stitched rectangle. I wrapped some twine around it and tied it into a bow. I added the panel to an orange card base.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

Last i added the stamped panel (i added a brown arrow next to the owl). The arrow points to the sentiment that i stamped below the panel.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn
For my second card i stamped the Lawn Fawn Quinn's ABCs and spelled out Merry. I colored the letters red, then added glue, then red glitter. Once the glue was dry i cut out the letters.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

Next i stamped, colored and cut out the birds. I was originally going to place the letters and birds on a white card base, but i spied a Kraft card base and really like them on it. Before adding everything i stamped tiny hearts with versamark ink and then embossed them with clear embossing powder.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

Before i added the letters and birds with foam tape i masked and stamped Christmas on my card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
