Enjoy the Ride

Hello!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today and i have a card featuring the new Clear Stamps available (or will be soon) at your local Michael's, it's called Got Style SC0678. It has a group of styling ladies and this cut lady on a skate board, i mean how fun is that???

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by finding a pattern paper pad by Basic Grey, Shine On... I die cut a stitched rectangle from a colorful strip pattern. From the same paper pad, i picked out different patterns for her bags and coat.

Then i used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color her skin and dress, i went a little funky with purple and white flowers!! LOL! Next i fussy cut around just the top of her, leaving the bottom half still in the paper.

I stamped the sentiment Happy Birthday Enjoy the Ride below her bags. Then i added the stripe panel to a white card base and added my stamped image with foam tape. Last i added a few different colored enamel dots to my card. I have so many enamel dots, rhinestones and pearls that i always have some that match the pattern papers i end up use!! Hello, my name is Dana and buy and hoard embellishments!! LOL  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Dana

It seams my hoarding also applies to pattern paper, as the collection i have is no longer available at scrapbooking stores! :) Supplies used: Basic Grey - Shine On..., My Minds Eye Enamel Dots - Cut & Paste Noted, Lost & Found Christmas, Mistletoe Magic.

Little Moments With You Matter

Hello!

My mojo has been zip, nada, just not around .... anywhere!!! Unfortunately stress from my class has just really affected my creativity, but this weekend i tried to just set it aside and do some crafting and i was able to do a few cards, some for fun and a few challenges and some others for my design teams. Today's card i made for Unity Stamp Co's Show & Tell Facebook group, the challenge this week is anything goes with any Unity girl.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Unity Stamp Co.
I've been seeing a lot of monochromatic coloring and finally got around to giving it a try! I started with some Kraft card stock and i stamped the girl from Unity's Only Imagine stamp set with some brown ink. Then i used my Spectrum Noir markers BG1, BG4, BG7 to color her up. I did leave her eyes uncolored.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Unity Stamp Co.

Next i stamped the sentiment below her in brown ink and then cut  her how with a fancy rectangle die. Then i found some pretty text pattern paper and i added it to a white card base. Then i added the stamped rectangle with foam tape and last i added a few matching enamel dots.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Unity Stamp Co.

Now this was my second attempt at monochromatic coloring, i first stamped and colored with EB1, EB2, EB7 (on the left) but i wasn't sure i liked it, so i did it again with the BG colors. I decided i like the BG colors the best (on the right), but then figured i already had the other one colored i might as well make a card out of it too.

After editing the photo's, i'm not sure which one i like the best, on one hand i like them, but on another i think the colors are just a little too different! It's probably because i've never colored anything monochromatic before! Which one do you prefer?

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Art Impressions Challenge 180 - Watercolor & White Pen

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge #180, the challenge to use watercolor and a white pen. The challenge also celebrates Art Impressions new release of three new Mini Watercolor sets and a new Window Deco Die!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I actually did the front of my card last, i wanted to match the curtains to whatever i ended up with on the inside. So i started by die cutting a stitched panel from watercolor card stock. Then i watched a video, this video in fact. I'm imitated by AI's watercolor sets, but after seeing this video by Sandy Allnock i gave it another go! And i have to say i really like how it turned out, so i encourage you to watch the video and try it for yourself!

I used several Watercolor Sets to build my scene, Flowering Mail Box, Chest of Flowers, Foliage Set, and Wooden Gate. My color medium was a few Marvy Markers and Distress Markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
For the front of the card i used the simple window pane from the first Window die and die cut it in the front flap of my card. I did the same thing to a strip of pink card stock and then placed it on the front of my card. I was going for a wainscotting look with the pink, then i added dash lines above it with my white pen.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next i stamped the curtains from the new Window Deco Stamp set, and then die cut them out with the matching die. I used the same pink and purple i used to create my water color scene to color the curtains. Then i added them to the front of the card over the window.

So with the card closed you can just see part of the watercoloring and when you open it, its like stepping outside into the garden.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will play along with us over at the Art Impressions Challenge!

This set is called Got Style (SC0678) and are in partnership with Hampton Art.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the ladies image on a stitched oval i cut from white card stock. Then i pulled out a We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard paper pad and stamped the image a few more times on different pattern papers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then i fussy cut out the ladies dresses and the big bow on the middle lady. Before adhering the pieces i colored the images with my Spectrum Noir Markers. This way if i make a mistake with my coloring i don;t have to restamp and cut out again, i know its ok to adhere!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next i added a chalkboard pattern with a flower at the bottom left to a white card base. I cut a small pink strip and stamped the Got Style sentiment and then adhered it to the card base. Then i added the stamped oval with foam tape and last added a few black sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Go no, and call your local Michael's, see if these are in the store then go get them!! You know you want to!!! :)

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello!

Today i sharing i card i made for a few challenges. My mojo has been really lacking lately, lots of stress with my school, so i really haven't been in the mood to craft! To try to get out of the funk i decided to play along with a few challenges and use a few products that i haven't had a chance to play with yet! My card if for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, Poppy Stamps Challenge #18 - Spring Fling and the National Craft Month Celebration Blog Hop.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Poppy Stamps
I started by stamping the cute little frog, mushrooms, bow and coffee cup and then used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color them. I used three Poppy Stamps sets, Hoppy Holiday, Gnome Christmas, You Melt My Heart. Next i fussy cut them out, leaving a small white border around each of them.

Next i used the coffee mug die from Paper Sweeties Homemade With Love stamp set and matching die. I cut it four times from white card stock. Since the matching stamp was solid, rather then an outline, i added the handle and drink details. Then i added my frog and mushrooms to each of the mugs.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Poppy Stamps

Then i used a Poppy Stamps Cloud border die and used it with some blue polka dot pattern paper. I added a little bit of blue ink to the cloud border, then added it to a white card base. Along the bottom i added a green stripe pattern paper.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Poppy Stamps
Then i added the mushroom mugs and then the frog cup with foam tape. I also added the little bow and coffee cup to the frog with foam tape. Last i stamped the Hoppy Birthday below the mugs.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

First i stamped one of the flowers from the Anemone stamp set on CC's watercolor card stock, with black versafine ink. Then i colored the flowers with my AquaBlend pencils, i used Aubergine, Wild Orchid, Cypress, Spruce, Aegean Blue, Sky Blue, Lagoon and Aqua. Then with a fine water coloring brush and water i activated the pencil to get a wonderful bright color on each of my flowers. Art Impressions Challenge 179 - House & Home

Hello!!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge 179, House & Home. The DT is showcasing NEW Cottage Stamps and Die!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the cottage on a white card base and again on a piece of scrap paper. Next i stamped the image from the That's You set. With my Spectrum Noir colored pencils i colored the two images on the scrap paper. The image on the card base, i just colored the basic solid colors.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

With the die that comes with the Cottage set, i die cut the door and window from the card base and my scrap paper house. I cut out the window and door from the card base house, then fussy cut out the scrap paper house and placed it over the card house with foam tape.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

For the vanity, i fussy cut it out and adhered it to the inside of the card, so you can see it through the window and door from the front. Then i stamped the sentiment on the inside the card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Now my card would pretty plain if i left it at that, but i wanted to create a little scene. So i found some cool tiny sun pattern paper and die cut it with two stitched rectangles to cut a frame. I also cut two clouds from some blue pattern paper. After this i was playing with the clouds, and i was like hey, if i cut these from green paper and stood them up the could be bushes!! So that's what i did!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I added the clouds flush to the card, and a little behind the house. The frame and bushes were added with foam tape, popped up to the same level as the house. And wa-la a cute little scene for my house! I love how you can see the vanity through the window and door!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back later this week and weekend with some exciting sneak peeks!!

Fairy Happy Birthday

Hello!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today sharing a card featuring the Fairy Spinner and Die. I didn;t use the stamp as a spinner, but just the front image as the focal point!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I stamped, then die cut the image. I decided to paper piece her dress and found some scrap paper to stamp and fussy cut. I colored everything but her dress with my Spectrum Noir Markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

For the background i used a tiny star stencil and some silver paint on a white card base. Next i stamped the Wishing You a Fairy Happy Birthday sentiment on a strip of red card stock. When the stars were dry i added the strip and then the fairy with foam tape!
