You have until 11:55 pm pacific today to get your project linked up! I have one last card for the hop to share!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6YS4IENuDgHcO4KMiN4wnl64U8W3wwFzX96Jc6U9LOTQmKOtkUQLQ0qguRTPpPTTL79r1jhm9lmlk0D-V6tcN1R26ljacOlPuSecx8qnrhAC3kzjDcocbsnj4qJSH4N9W1ScR3_SHfP5o/s1668/w+snowa+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1668" data-original-width="1516" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6YS4IENuDgHcO4KMiN4wnl64U8W3wwFzX96Jc6U9LOTQmKOtkUQLQ0qguRTPpPTTL79r1jhm9lmlk0D-V6tcN1R26ljacOlPuSecx8qnrhAC3kzjDcocbsnj4qJSH4N9W1ScR3_SHfP5o/w582-h640/w+snowa+1.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hello Blue Bird - Funky Fossil Designs - Wow Embossing Powder" width="582" /></a></div><p>I started this card with some snowman images from Hello Blue Bird that I had stamped and colored months ago!! I used three on this card, but have a couple pages worth ready to use! Oh, were does the time go!! LOL!!! To color these and the pages I used my Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils, then fussy cut these three snowmen out!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXiykIfsfuoypzyrSWhZn4EBdYnr2xsoZ1oWT5SxhCXJ585gW2H_eZS4S5n8LtrqcDFhmtegRVAI3DsiLeN3RJT8UOxP-zn1-w-4p9MtoT6j-eOLmHN0LcQZ4o0rKSRY9Yc_mwK6uSAlOQ/s1735/w+snowa+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1682" data-original-width="1735" height="620" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXiykIfsfuoypzyrSWhZn4EBdYnr2xsoZ1oWT5SxhCXJ585gW2H_eZS4S5n8LtrqcDFhmtegRVAI3DsiLeN3RJT8UOxP-zn1-w-4p9MtoT6j-eOLmHN0LcQZ4o0rKSRY9Yc_mwK6uSAlOQ/w640-h620/w+snowa+2.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hello Blue Bird - Funky Fossil Designs - Wow Embossing Powder" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Next, I decided to use the left over foiling I did on this <a href="https://kraftpaperstamps.blogspot.com/2020/11/graciellie-designs-live-for-today.html" target="_blank">card</a>. I cut some blue card stock with Hello Blue Bird's <a href="https://shop.hellobluebird.com/collections/stand-alone-dies/products/hb-2170" target="_blank">Photo Stack</a> die and then cut the center again from my foiled background. The foiling was made with Funky Fossil Designs <a href="https://www.funkyfossil.co.uk/product-page/snow-flurry-stencil" target="_blank">Snow Flurry</a> stencil. And Wow Embossing <a href="https://www.wowembossingpowderusa.com/WOW-Bonding-Powder_p_295.html" target="_blank">Bonding Powder </a>and <a href="https://www.wowembossingpowderusa.com/WOW-Fab-Foil--Snowy-White_p_285.html" target="_blank">White Foil</a>.</p><p>To adhere the foil to the die cut square I used a double sided adhesive sheet, this was the easiest way to adhere it and not see any glue!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMU0R-_-WI-71X_KLLJKx1cZQ75izg_MfKcY1FZODiNZeFsC3p7uNBStaXZLvGYj9LSQ5OXas520SRMGdvkSx96PSYf-g7505EYjRa97_b75GfmX24ZXLa5Uc8gZIBz_bJxyqv76Pp53Vg/s1914/w+snowa+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1750" data-original-width="1914" height="586" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMU0R-_-WI-71X_KLLJKx1cZQ75izg_MfKcY1FZODiNZeFsC3p7uNBStaXZLvGYj9LSQ5OXas520SRMGdvkSx96PSYf-g7505EYjRa97_b75GfmX24ZXLa5Uc8gZIBz_bJxyqv76Pp53Vg/w640-h586/w+snowa+3.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hello Blue Bird - Funky Fossil Designs - Wow Embossing Powder" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Next, I stamped the sentiment from <a href="https://shop.hellobluebird.com/collections/clear-stamps/products/hb-2239" target="_blank">Cocoa Party </a>on the lower photo. Then adhered the snowmen from <a href="https://shop.hellobluebird.com/collections/clear-stamps/products/hb-2147" target="_blank">Frosty Littles</a> stamp set.</p><p>From my pattern paper stash I picked out a Christmas text background, trimmed it and added it to a light blue card base. Then I added my Photo to the front of the card .</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirTBF0NncwyX2DlkDGHqQvjFwcQiqq-Bf8gaM8x32XojqFi5x9Cf7OZz5DYJAEGCuXFNWSFoVp194htc_dmWCyI-9B-Ss5gIoE94ucGcCeMbTciRKlMGIQsNxWmhmBMcyJMBTxCxSywq-U/s2110/w+snowa+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1815" data-original-width="2110" height="550" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirTBF0NncwyX2DlkDGHqQvjFwcQiqq-Bf8gaM8x32XojqFi5x9Cf7OZz5DYJAEGCuXFNWSFoVp194htc_dmWCyI-9B-Ss5gIoE94ucGcCeMbTciRKlMGIQsNxWmhmBMcyJMBTxCxSywq-U/w640-h550/w+snowa+5.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hello Blue Bird - Funky Fossil Designs - Wow Embossing Powder" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Thanks for stopping by! I've been eying this Newton's Nook<a href="https://www.newtonsnookdesigns.com/loveable-llamas/" target="_blank"> Lovable Llamas</a> for awhile and while think about my next card to make, I though I could have the llama's carrying coffee ups on their backs. That is if it works out how I think it!!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ0xWuORVASc5K71uJhvBzjLQx6LOGGyagyVyoAqj2rDbwq8l-R08DsUDb9Ah2HBQDSDgC-Bpgvtza5A7ExBS__08iO2MdVvVK-WTGALwp0EYsT0YUdaVw32w0uMNh5DELd-WrEIQX_V7t/s2056/w+llama+3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1802" data-original-width="2056" height="560" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ0xWuORVASc5K71uJhvBzjLQx6LOGGyagyVyoAqj2rDbwq8l-R08DsUDb9Ah2HBQDSDgC-Bpgvtza5A7ExBS__08iO2MdVvVK-WTGALwp0EYsT0YUdaVw32w0uMNh5DELd-WrEIQX_V7t/w640-h560/w+llama+3.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Newton's Took - Twiddlers Nook" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>I used a couple cups from <a href="https://www.newtonsnookdesigns.com/newton-loves-coffee/" target="_blank">Newton Loves Coffee</a> stamp set, stamped them, the llamas and a couple blankets. I colored everything up with Copic markers and added a little gold with Wow Embossing Powder.</p><p>Then I fussy cut everything out and arranged the blankets and cups on the llama's. I liked how it turned out! So I moved on to make a shaker card. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHSv94Sf4T2kxkc4Die2oEvNH4suQijkc-p7rnZoEpTz7snZLOuNg-VLer2YAidt-7CgYDccVHXY31COmHw3VoF-hGmg_8QXfCEBhg6S7vJViGEUEpFPUqe3c-eKWHJgbv6f930g3mO9ew/s2103/w+llama+7.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1789" data-original-width="2103" height="544" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHSv94Sf4T2kxkc4Die2oEvNH4suQijkc-p7rnZoEpTz7snZLOuNg-VLer2YAidt-7CgYDccVHXY31COmHw3VoF-hGmg_8QXfCEBhg6S7vJViGEUEpFPUqe3c-eKWHJgbv6f930g3mO9ew/w640-h544/w+llama+7.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Newton's Took - Twiddlers Nook" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>To make my shaker I picked out some purple polka dot pattern paper and used a rounded rectangle to cut a window. I covered the window with acetate and then added foam tape around the window's edge. Then I added my fun embellishments!! These came from a new to me shop and fellow Coffee Loving Cardmaker Design Team Member, <a href="https://twiddlersnook.blog/author/twiddlersnook/" target="_blank">Amanda Wilcox</a>! Her etsy shop is called <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/twiddlersnook" target="_blank">Twiddlers Nook</a>! Her shop features fun embellishments and craft tools (more on that in a minute!). </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyoojgfTUmokaUN2XCfpRPgQU8cR8JDTliGv6QfvZDBCNasQt-uDds3Bantrj_6WU3zN4RAktF9Ewsh-ucmImBAPnVshHgVCL9Wu7a1hfP5yC2ZREo0TMli4ENfEcA6Nw3BLb6A45kit7O/s2103/w+llama+10.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1789" data-original-width="2103" height="544" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyoojgfTUmokaUN2XCfpRPgQU8cR8JDTliGv6QfvZDBCNasQt-uDds3Bantrj_6WU3zN4RAktF9Ewsh-ucmImBAPnVshHgVCL9Wu7a1hfP5yC2ZREo0TMli4ENfEcA6Nw3BLb6A45kit7O/w640-h544/w+llama+10.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Newton's Took - Twiddlers Nook" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>So I used the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/815441780/burning-embers-embellishment-mix?ref=shop_home_active_18" target="_blank">Burning Embers</a> embellishments and added a pile to the center of my acetate window, then adhered the card base to the foam tape. And wa-la a shaker card!! I added the llamas and the sentiment to the card last!</p><h1 style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: small;">You might have noticed in my pictures two orange objects, one with some embellishments another with a die and a rabbit paper clip. I recently picked up the <a href="https://shop.catherinepooler.com/products/gift-card-to-go-die?_pos=12&_sid=686496bdb&_ss=r" target="_blank">Gift Card To Go</a> die along with some fall stamp sets. I decided to make a fall cocoa gift card holder, with winter pattern paper! I used <a href="https://shop.catherinepooler.com/products/feeling-chilly-patterned-paper?_pos=2&_sid=e6b8b5f9f&_ss=r" target="_blank">Feeling Chilling</a> pattern paper and matching CP inks! </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3lY7DGjBAi4FBzzFWOLfuZsRMztRpqjiqnWYTDCbkSPnM2GTlXRN9xZ-v_KWxA8z1egeI-5MsAB3wI9YCzHvTvFeIc7WYz4BLGfOBwF-KtjxVoQzw6CUNxSS1ONGCaPNVe7X6MbSO46nu/s1868/w+gift+card+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1823" data-original-width="1868" height="624" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3lY7DGjBAi4FBzzFWOLfuZsRMztRpqjiqnWYTDCbkSPnM2GTlXRN9xZ-v_KWxA8z1egeI-5MsAB3wI9YCzHvTvFeIc7WYz4BLGfOBwF-KtjxVoQzw6CUNxSS1ONGCaPNVe7X6MbSO46nu/w640-h624/w+gift+card+2.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler Stamps and Inks" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>I started by using the die to cut a pattern and then again from some white card stock. I used grey copic markers to shade the top lid part of the cup. Then I trimmed the cardstock so all I had was the white lip. I adhered this lid to the pattern paper cup.</p><p>Then I cut the cup wrap from white card stock and then used one of the CP inks and an ink blending tool to ink up the wrap.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-T4mf5ahyd0MDjFSN7ejZQYSFE4Gvcwea1zQrxfQUwYSB9GvCyR6U54WT1i_HWATstdi7v7-Ppj2sYu02WO4Zbn28Yv6lm1EWxMBtFvG49EkJp5oEPdQSw4Mvd2i_2i81VLIiA48itlD8/s2221/w+gift+card+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1895" data-original-width="2221" height="546" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-T4mf5ahyd0MDjFSN7ejZQYSFE4Gvcwea1zQrxfQUwYSB9GvCyR6U54WT1i_HWATstdi7v7-Ppj2sYu02WO4Zbn28Yv6lm1EWxMBtFvG49EkJp5oEPdQSw4Mvd2i_2i81VLIiA48itlD8/w640-h546/w+gift+card+4.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler Stamps and Inks" width="640" /></a></div><p>Next, I used the <a href="https://shop.catherinepooler.com/products/pumpkin-season-stamp-set?_pos=10&_sid=1e0ffd0b3&_ss=r" target="_blank">Pumpkin Season</a> stamp set and various CP inks. I stamped and fussy cut a pumpkin, a few leaves and acorns and one of the coffee cups from the set. I arranged them on the wrap and stamped the sentiment bring on the cocoa.</p><p></p><p>You can see in the picture below that I used a Michael's gift card in the gift card slots and the wrap fits nicely over it. I can see making a few of these for Christmas gift cards!!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHUYFZmSItPTzB9NUMFxLRWSR_KnMbdpwBkcZS03VKkd988ft5FjdaqT7pZYOL6XOasJUXENU0UHjLw0WQqD6GFasAqqjc6pTMc4v5AKO73zsTlrllEPXuSrP26DPW9LSjA3PpfKQT9bxI/s2196/w+gift+card+7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1769" data-original-width="2196" height="516" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHUYFZmSItPTzB9NUMFxLRWSR_KnMbdpwBkcZS03VKkd988ft5FjdaqT7pZYOL6XOasJUXENU0UHjLw0WQqD6GFasAqqjc6pTMc4v5AKO73zsTlrllEPXuSrP26DPW9LSjA3PpfKQT9bxI/w640-h516/w+gift+card+7.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler Stamps and Inks" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Thanks so much for stopping by! A beautiful winter bird with great sentiments!! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFEnDwpRTnHVjXTARDXNmmP9-IJE5b_ur9HR8y4_W_BF9TCi_bEQfefjKp62m3kum3BFzueL9v7SiDcQlBoMxmAhLQlZQTgsmmZGD0q1DArvoq1PzP_GWAw9PZxrgMZzFeXGfRy8uvuUdh/s2122/w+bird+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1764" data-original-width="2122" height="532" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFEnDwpRTnHVjXTARDXNmmP9-IJE5b_ur9HR8y4_W_BF9TCi_bEQfefjKp62m3kum3BFzueL9v7SiDcQlBoMxmAhLQlZQTgsmmZGD0q1DArvoq1PzP_GWAw9PZxrgMZzFeXGfRy8uvuUdh/w640-h532/w+bird+2.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs Wow Embossing Powder" width="640" /></a></div><p>I started by opening the bird in Word. I resized it and added the Live for Today sentiment. Then I printed it out and used my Copic markers to color it up. Instead of really blending the coloring, I did a more stippling like technique to dot the color and blend it. Then I fussy cut most of the image out, using my paper trimmer to cut the sentiment. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6TKzZCQuOhxX78_qGr67Y2WrqAb1rf1-HC6ZOOM413e2WMRQ9mJh3o0rImgHyMQeOoNtadg74Ong-pQpp6JLGxrHGAbWiqkSG7aif6NUFnlpvU-6A6tE0ZBQkvXkaMWKMnQkOLFjRsbIK/s1861/w+bird+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1861" data-original-width="1855" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6TKzZCQuOhxX78_qGr67Y2WrqAb1rf1-HC6ZOOM413e2WMRQ9mJh3o0rImgHyMQeOoNtadg74Ong-pQpp6JLGxrHGAbWiqkSG7aif6NUFnlpvU-6A6tE0ZBQkvXkaMWKMnQkOLFjRsbIK/w638-h640/w+bird+5.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs Wow Embossing Powder" width="638" /></a></div><p></p><p>For the background I decided to pick out a dark red card base and use my Wow Embossing Fab Foil. I started with Funky Fossil Designs <a href="https://www.funkyfossil.co.uk/product-page/snow-flurry-stencil" target="_blank">Snow Flurry</a> stencil and watermark ink. I only inked up the top half of the card base.</p><p>Then I added Wow Embossing <a href="https://www.wowembossingpowderusa.com/WOW-Bonding-Powder_p_295.html" target="_blank">Bonding Powder</a> to the watermark ink and heated it. With Wow Fab Foil, I added the <a href="https://www.wowembossingpowderusa.com/WOW-Fab-Foil--Snowy-White_p_285.html" target="_blank">white foil</a>, shiny side up onto the melted powder. </p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieYB6-yEfJLK5BvAbrRc2qb9RJZ7yDiVjcVXeES2LeZPQ6x-JcR4hLwZBsOKBc2fPHlbFVQCcMEKkSUOuheRc6epOEkOR3fy-ZuFMEgObxHdiHbI7fXloFVhw0UAHjhmCofBa-g19-KRNp/s2122/w+bird+8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1764" data-original-width="2122" height="532" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieYB6-yEfJLK5BvAbrRc2qb9RJZ7yDiVjcVXeES2LeZPQ6x-JcR4hLwZBsOKBc2fPHlbFVQCcMEKkSUOuheRc6epOEkOR3fy-ZuFMEgObxHdiHbI7fXloFVhw0UAHjhmCofBa-g19-KRNp/w640-h532/w+bird+8.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs Wow Embossing Powder" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Next, I heated up my regular cloths iron and placed my card base face down, opened the card and ironed the back of the front card base. Trim off any access foil as you don't what it to melt to your iron. I did this a few times, letting the card stock cool in between. The hardest part is the edges and the top, I think I get it all but there's usually a few spots I miss!! lol!!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ3mH7RkvIm1j64Ka9C1f3BLgRQvie0a3m2g7xOsnqiQT-vRiXYTYo6jhUAJxpsNTcy1dL-qqkkSs6pZF8NerUwGghzlwOYSbfh99VBleJro0AMCZ8uTZ6Q0U8-0mZs6beqpKew8uKOuK_/s2122/w+bird+10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1764" data-original-width="2122" height="532" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ3mH7RkvIm1j64Ka9C1f3BLgRQvie0a3m2g7xOsnqiQT-vRiXYTYo6jhUAJxpsNTcy1dL-qqkkSs6pZF8NerUwGghzlwOYSbfh99VBleJro0AMCZ8uTZ6Q0U8-0mZs6beqpKew8uKOuK_/w640-h532/w+bird+10.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs Wow Embossing Powder" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>After the card has cooled I pulled the foil and and wa-la I have my foiled white snowflakes! I always keep what I pulled up, down the road I'll use it on a card!!</p><p>Last I added the bird and sentiment to the card with foam tape! </p><p>Thanks for stopping by!</p><p>Dana</p>Danahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03249544014198855369noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7185148603393592414.post-76504747992052235692020-10-31T13:35:00.000-04:002020-10-31T13:35:16.107-04:00Catherine Pooler - Happy Halloween<p> Hello and Happy Halloween!!!</p><p>My last Halloween features a <a href="https://www.catherinepooler.com/" target="_blank">Catherine Pooler</a> stamp set and inks. It's gorgeous!! Called <a href="https://gracielliedesign.shop/product/start-anew-magnolias-mini-digital-stamp-bundle/" target="_blank">Start Anew Magnolias</a>, a gorgeous winter flower cluster! There is also a mini set that I used one of the sentiments from, its called <a href="https://gracielliedesign.shop/product/new-festive-swag-mini-digital-stamp-set/" target="_blank">Festive Swag</a>.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXhGqH2PHokDBO71UJaXIcF_CtDtsQD1RNZTWPRIFpISrUsAaxUiLC7Eo7DrAH2pleEqh3F5eU7-SiXsewWpO5D9v0zjqHRvkdedEvKtf_vLnmq4spSqZlO4TX3MdkKnvfcLS8aicRXTlK/s1795/w+winter+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1795" data-original-width="1769" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXhGqH2PHokDBO71UJaXIcF_CtDtsQD1RNZTWPRIFpISrUsAaxUiLC7Eo7DrAH2pleEqh3F5eU7-SiXsewWpO5D9v0zjqHRvkdedEvKtf_vLnmq4spSqZlO4TX3MdkKnvfcLS8aicRXTlK/w630-h640/w+winter+2.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs Copic Coloring" width="630" /></a></div><br /><p>I opened the image in Word, resized it and added the sentiment from Festive Swag. New digital stamps called <a href="https://gracielliedesign.shop/product/christmas-wishes-mini-digital-stamp-bundle/" target="_blank">Christmas Wishes</a>! Gorgeous poinsettia with fabulous sentiments!!</p><img border="0" data-original-height="1875" data-original-width="1900" height="632" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA6RA_K6fC3PRjH5XDhYkiRtISOS4d4ei0_25l_616i3xHooNxMIp8mUGe7pZ6JwRDx3wJnjUruw-mqXJZC32b9DbAB2eMpo7YBL8hQkO7c2LNMfi9sWTXEozi68p_cyjnB7cd1_hAIPHs/w640-h632/w+joy+2.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Gracielle Designs - Spectrum Noir Coloured Pencils" width="640" /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;">I decided to do no line coloring and to achieve that with a digital stamp I pasted the poinsettia in Word and resized it. Under Picture Tools I clicked on the drop down Color menu and picked the Washout option. I have stopped here before, the gray is still fairly dark and can be seen with your coloring. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1875" data-original-width="1900" height="632" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPy6MFSs4ZilDJNBQdEzSTqtflaMeF477nFFbxGPUh2OuttpY364ZcbyeaqBU3yJKP8Xw7G_HwlPgHx5G4WYGXHJW7jGHlY8Hk-McdspFrb8M17oAYyJgIgksruJY-urqMy0rcptuaPUSt/w640-h632/w+joy+3.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Gracielle Designs - Spectrum Noir Coloured Pencils" width="640" /></div><p>This time I went farther to see what what would happen. Below the Color menu is a Transparency drop down. From here I picked Transparency 80%, its really light and I did use another image I printed as a guide to use as I colored the image. To color the image I used my Spectrum Noir Colour Blend pencils. </p><p>Before printing I added the Joy & Peace sentiment, leaving it black so it could be seen after coloring. With a stitched rectangle I cut the colored poinsettia and then adhered it to a Kraft card base. Last I added clear and black sequins for a little sparkle!</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1835" data-original-width="2495" height="470" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnaumxbaBpl0dNDRAkWOktwbJJmW6H4FOd6JmdQE8nOAlTKKLfFI4_bGDsFJRJBlwccbbQ8VnGEY_OmIlnlCwIuJDmawQAKxctaOox8HsA5k5VHojveigpdzR9mmmZ8Fp3xDoxFg4crmoK/w640-h470/w+joy+5.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Gracielle Designs - Spectrum Noir Coloured Pencils" width="640" /></p><p>Thanks so much for stopping by!! Today I'm sharing a card I made a few months ago!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1888" data-original-width="2048" height="590" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijHz2xESvEiKJ8bIkaIDLC3jPe9nYAoGGF7ZBwAg5f6WuR_KgJBeaovddenleg9gWzkHuU2-Y-Tn6CgSuvM_51sW62z4e_PXmjx2nFPUK3wYCYAsHevxwmls4pa_l0kOj8pJuUNlChRmJC/w640-h590/w+thank+you+1.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Journals For Life" width="640" /></div><p>I started by die cutting a fancy panel from Pink Fresh Studio called <a href="https://www.pinkfreshstudio.com/products/essentials-ornate-banner-die-set?_pos=1&_sid=c07eaf2ec&_ss=r" target="_blank">Ornate Banner Die</a>. Then I stamped a few images from Journals for Life <a href="https://journalsforlifestamps.com/products/plant-lady-4x6-photopolymer-stamp" target="_blank">Plant Lady</a> Stamp set. I did some quick Copic coloring, then fussy cut them out. With foam tape I adhered them to the white banner.</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1568" data-original-width="2048" height="490" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUv847VCTvbxOiCa8wr3l33OXu4_jrqT7XvbbSFt6aGOW8xOJX1sIqAPe7gGWyfyw2zo0nJhlHfbhymRce1UpNRJ85HF6uAj6VDbaDcfRdEG-M_UhRIN1wGgiJGYZh4-1eDOfFqCtPX61o/w640-h490/w+thank+you+3.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Journals For Life" width="640" /></p><p>For the back ground I used Pink Fresh Studio <a href="https://www.pinkfreshstudio.com/collections/all-stamps-and-dies/products/color-block-stripes-die" target="_blank">Color Block Stripes Die</a>. I picked out a few different shades of green and filled in one of the frames with the different colors. It's for the Innovation Master category. Be warned it has a lot of pictures!!!</p><p>I wasn't planning on entering one for this, but Friday night after work I was trying to fall asleep, my mind was wondering and I started thinking about what I could do. Eventually I though about making an magnetic card with images that can me moved around and then can make their way to a fridge or other magnetic board. </p><p>So I made a trip to Michael's yesterday and found some magnetic sheets and gave it try! I used MFT Jingle All The Way and stamped all the main images and then stamped the presents, reindeer and Christmas tree three times. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1678" data-original-width="2267" height="474" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyV0WKMwqQU4eZ1l5Jvd1NShLTURfYM4VWaMcRliJ2l8EVsHvrkQ4SsO1pl5l5401b4dRF-9DFXPyGCUORYn4poEbf0MjEf3owNVXzJn7an5raZmDIXJvQPAtOr8pLfL73jyfIK8-lHDgU/w640-h474/w+magnet+10.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps" width="640" /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;">The above card is the card I'm entering in the contest. But at the end I had so many images, that I made another card and I still had a few left over. So I figure I'll include a little bag with the extra's, that way a kid can play with a bunch of images. Oh, and as you can see the magnet images stay in place even when the card is standing.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1769" data-original-width="2460" height="460" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtbHhv_s55sQh3pSaWk3mG2JZgXkDwqvmWwL8ncELMDtw-hMnL5JiGuYUBnRoqkpVo7X2ENGL9qpQwBO2IleShSCV1RsEWpuKRYIZBqzq-8Nc236HdEHBg847U_EY1WGy5RDVLaTzhnVFl/w640-h460/w+magnet+1.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps" width="640" /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1769" data-original-width="2460" height="460" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiibm-7-IDOxymqN8eCDf_kNq14U46jNJYAVHK5S24ecvmZbHeUk3F-XpmKe9m2Om-MSknk41eWm30R-BCd0rktoqT0DiTjcjup2NljC2vzVLLfB1aRL7qZN1q6TBo9iy7HpFWx8TC6xuEs/w640-h460/w+magnet+2.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps" width="640" /></div><p>The magnet sheets came rolled up, so while I was coloring and die cutting the images I put the sheets under my glass craft mat so they would flatten a little!</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1769" data-original-width="2460" height="460" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje6a8QXYxpZtaWVRedMPlardj4hWrNGvKooh9huE8chm2kjWV33W_Y4IoDMM5PA2F-hwEO1Hn4jRUPWAvXXIA2SHY1VpVnkxAALOIXa3TpwGGu2rmanqKCo_bvH6mgUulLbPBzo4s67BqY/w640-h460/w+magnet+3.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps" width="640" /></p><p>After a lot of coloring I trimmed a magnet sheet, so it was about 1/2 inch smaller then my card bases. This card is for the Clean & Simple category. And like my first card this one is a Christmas card, too.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1835" data-original-width="1992" height="590" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNnE6FVAl6Zc1ZFzEJ7jSAcowKSga9ZNXnqc-ldiQhyupHkfjTnHnoFcgKuz2TKjw5ws5ddT2Pie887opoUn3OSVzTb5K5MwaHFHXUMdIP7avmhSa8hqqUI_Viy4joYiK55y16TTHO0Oea/w640-h590/w+lines+3.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps My Favorite Things - Christmas Tree Cutout Die" width="640" /></div><p>For this card I use a very old MFT die called Christmas Tree Cutout. I started by cutting the tree out from some scratch white card stock to make a 'stencil.' In the photo I placed black card behind my die cut so it would be easier to see in the photos.</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1799" data-original-width="1876" height="614" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-a9v3wDRDj97tpREEZp3XR_uh18nU62cQW8IqX8X0mPylem19M1LWcLLqGQrW_0xfVnWSkGSKaY84rxY8QglUVF01661NlqSakCv3S3f5OQzIc_Yr3NfAgn5IthiSSLymYYl7LqIgwoHS/w640-h614/w+lines+5.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps My Favorite Things - Christmas Tree Cutout Die" width="640" /></p><p>Next, I cut down a panel of black card stock so it would be about 1/4 inches smaller then my blue card base. I placed the 'stencil' over the panel and used some blue tape to keep it in place. Then I started adding vertical lines, inside each layer of the tree. </p><p>I went with non traditional colors, more muted opaque gel pens, that show up really nice on black card stock. Starting with a line up of colors, I just went round and round threw my line up, working my way up each layer of the tree. For the trunk I used one of the colors that looks brown/grey.</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1865" data-original-width="2198" height="544" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigBZ2UwZf7b5g9vdGPwE7YSupudT9us1ZofWz35Z9J9Ky10BNIuZCZiXtGkpl4i8LdI9_WocsUxa59l8idjodEBTy_YhU3N7raOf8vLb1QO4QVougvGJIZBr4ecDWhe6ZicrtYG855KG3i/w640-h544/w+lines+7.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps My Favorite Things - Christmas Tree Cutout Die" width="640" /></p><p>Then I cut the Merry part of the die from black card stock and used one of the green gel pens to color the letters. When I do this I always color the edges, which was a little tricky with a gel pen! I did do two layers of the green to get good coverage. </p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1865" data-original-width="2198" height="544" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk255735rHf78cCaQ6nv1P8tWW_QMacrGD5hlQ-vlqzW5zO5JnTqlEvmUZ6sH2BRHTiAhH8Wlh_XvN6vnUmpdXb873qCLZlqC85gU2h8NVawGvncYO9vvzmr201kcEblJ0kNoutwB_Q88b/w640-h544/w+lines+8.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps My Favorite Things - Christmas Tree Cutout Die" width="640" /></p><p>With a T-ruler, I adhered the Merry on top of the lined Christmas tree. From my stash I found the perfect green star button to add to the top of the Christmas tree. Last, I added the panel to the blue card base with foam tape!</p><p>Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be stopping by tomorrow with my last card for the Card Design Superstar contest!</p><p>Dana</p><p><br /></p>Danahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03249544014198855369noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7185148603393592414.post-78306383929313091122020-09-19T20:07:00.000-04:002020-09-19T20:07:26.101-04:00My Favorite Things Stamps - Coloring Virtuoso<p> Hello!</p><p>Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the <a href="https://mftstamps.com/blogs/news/2020-superstar-contest-announcement" target="_blank">My Favorite Things Stamps - 2020 Card Design Superstar</a>, Color Virtuoso. Instead of the usual coloring with alcohol and blending, I used stippling as my coloring. It's also called pointillism. I've been wanting to do something like this for awhile but when I saw the design contest, I thought it was time! I did pointillism way back in my high school art classes!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTCsvFNMR6ihngpao2ZJgsj6W2gJsJiXgIDHKGNeWzG2J7kLs87y6rps__wTg5Avfd6WW57kwBNoqDcm-0oYUBmhyphenhyphenNq1G9zA6aJPuQWxvCywGNOCrWbFQYlJAdqIJt-LVV_GQXs9OpLsgo/s1776/w+stiple+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1776" data-original-width="1769" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTCsvFNMR6ihngpao2ZJgsj6W2gJsJiXgIDHKGNeWzG2J7kLs87y6rps__wTg5Avfd6WW57kwBNoqDcm-0oYUBmhyphenhyphenNq1G9zA6aJPuQWxvCywGNOCrWbFQYlJAdqIJt-LVV_GQXs9OpLsgo/w638-h640/w+stiple+1.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps" width="638" /></a></div><p>I pulled out all my MFT stamps and dies and was feeling Christmas-y, as all three cards for the contest are Christmas! For this card I went with <a href="https://mftstamps.com/products/bb-jingle-all-the-way?_pos=1&_sid=81188078e&_ss=r" target="_blank">Jingle All The Way.</a> I stamped one of the santas, little girl and presents.</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1776" data-original-width="1769" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAzmsSocPnjh4PQJJS0oCSJQRx7FH8Iah5akpvuqtboq0p3tHnnWPOkOREhBuCs1ke-LAEaJy0LaU7I7wC0RzRFp9hJHBJM3ec2NdDgvObX_ilygUrFj2zZy5zUHeewFOOTJ9ora4EwRbG/w638-h640/w+stiple+3.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps" width="638" /></p><p>For my stippling I used some fine point colored markers. When stippling, you randomly add the dots. The more dots go where its darker. I also mixed a couple of the colors together. Two browns for the ground and two skin colors. </p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEjI3UumKi5dYIybuLWKZ49afLk7nSWRNhQMIBw0t8nbaih_xTr5J7MwoRvFE1NFxrmvklJ3ojaRFOlDV3CwEjppLe2x97veu6SwFy_3ujMzF-s8odRgfcztgIzybSsoQcVGGZX9Q_RFZa/s2355/w+stiple+7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1902" data-original-width="2355" height="516" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEjI3UumKi5dYIybuLWKZ49afLk7nSWRNhQMIBw0t8nbaih_xTr5J7MwoRvFE1NFxrmvklJ3ojaRFOlDV3CwEjppLe2x97veu6SwFy_3ujMzF-s8odRgfcztgIzybSsoQcVGGZX9Q_RFZa/w640-h516/w+stiple+7.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps" width="640" /></a></p><p>I added light blue dots for a sky and stamped Jingle All The Way above the images. Using a new stamp and stencil I picked up from <a href="https://www.funkyfossil.co.uk/" target="_blank">Funky Fossil Designs</a>! And of course I picked up more then just one stamp set and stencil!! Hehe!! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheZ4FWMgTTJ9olotqxR05BHptDHiNaoC-W84hrvDHbbPEP4kzwv1yKEsq58kO6nuIyegrZg5g4OyAbQRvaZxF-TnrNQRaeZ64v7LKhLoxbKV7V7UJVaPwJaARHUp2u-XFUuUYcr3nefuMS/s1971/w+game+1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1750" data-original-width="1971" height="568" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheZ4FWMgTTJ9olotqxR05BHptDHiNaoC-W84hrvDHbbPEP4kzwv1yKEsq58kO6nuIyegrZg5g4OyAbQRvaZxF-TnrNQRaeZ64v7LKhLoxbKV7V7UJVaPwJaARHUp2u-XFUuUYcr3nefuMS/w640-h568/w+game+1.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Funky Fossil Designs - Stencils" width="640" /></a></div><p>I wanted to make an easy masculine birthday, so I pulled out the <a href="https://www.funkyfossil.co.uk/product-page/blockade" target="_blank">Blockade </a>stencil and used it on a white card base. To ink up the stencil I used Catherine Poolers ink, blue, aqua and orange. </p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1750" data-original-width="1971" height="568" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8oufnE9VMK7m3SPzAtdDbwuhI3zqRyK7yjw8SZdV1ll5Jw4xxK1P4YFCYTpGSzBVgDrXjfRcA8nDjNMvxkUvWXP-Uj2veWZpLn3FJmEjxicy5LqaKSPlVZ6qVq4n60TpWB-qIjLq4Qq5T/w640-h568/w+game+4.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Funky Fossil Designs - Stencils" width="640" /></p><p>Next, I used the navy blue to ink up the game controller and ear phones from the <a href="https://www.funkyfossil.co.uk/product-page/gamer-a6-clear-stamp-set" target="_blank">Gamer </a>stamp set and then fussy cut them both out. I added them to the card with foam tape!</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1818" data-original-width="2414" height="482" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmqhJlD_Ul4ELRllO8w-CWkz58qO4FKB-6i8uBuqs_dRN2jIWulUQ-2Dp50XJZpmxOMKt_UgTZSBtqGWMgV25F0REcVOhZCjMLznl58tN5iIaR6eFeh7aTUdus_VYT7MrUdzqGE2bwqpqu/w640-h482/w+game+7.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Funky Fossil Designs - Stencils" width="640" /></p><p>Last, I stamped the sentiment Level Up It's Your Birthday above the controller with black ink. I'm popping in today with my second project for <a href="https://altenewblog.com/creativity-inspired-altenew-sewing-contest-2020/" target="_blank">Altenew's Sewing Contest</a>. This one is a card and I used one of my watercoloring on evenweave experiments! I used Altenew's <a href="https://altenew.com/products/statement-flowers-stamp-set" target="_blank">Statement Flower</a> stamp for this card. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9wvPjPc4hpThbb9VPpmaiYaEqQLGn6bSG__AnDyK8IFjYKHfKDAdnvWK_5kD4OwMLvZTPU91r82oDzRwt6iBunfaLX66ESqiJreQ81wkoPh_01t_xJhmWdYAxtN8dSQCw5q4646LwiCp6/s1200/SM-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9wvPjPc4hpThbb9VPpmaiYaEqQLGn6bSG__AnDyK8IFjYKHfKDAdnvWK_5kD4OwMLvZTPU91r82oDzRwt6iBunfaLX66ESqiJreQ81wkoPh_01t_xJhmWdYAxtN8dSQCw5q4646LwiCp6/s640/SM-2.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrSWsvZ7PolHY1tlDtqZnQJGd76iEn6cAXSzintqh8l4F57tzBL7HYFcAGp4RUY83q8MpQJKdG1RhgVJyT4nawFSqR-78uYJYQDIloPLIyh7FzJaIfMHa6MzcfLU256PqrgN1R_rEdbYLU/s2139/w+hello+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1724" data-original-width="2139" height="516" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrSWsvZ7PolHY1tlDtqZnQJGd76iEn6cAXSzintqh8l4F57tzBL7HYFcAGp4RUY83q8MpQJKdG1RhgVJyT4nawFSqR-78uYJYQDIloPLIyh7FzJaIfMHa6MzcfLU256PqrgN1R_rEdbYLU/w640-h516/w+hello+1.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing Watercolor" width="640" /></a></div><p>For this piece of evenweave, I saturated it with water, then added my Altenew watercolors diluted with water. Starting with evenweave already wet, the colors blended a lot better, though they are on the light side. I did let it dry over night!</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyagLK1R1sOFykgkmQsGthTigFvMa-2d0-n49MME3zMgcjF3u6yhHEOOnPNRG4kRNfq8mUY7HnQadBVCppY4ZaRfq427gcMYNPZHivC3Ve-PpnH1RfbM6ObyRa5t1jeZdx_3mbmM4LcQze/s2148/w+hello+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1768" data-original-width="2148" height="527" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyagLK1R1sOFykgkmQsGthTigFvMa-2d0-n49MME3zMgcjF3u6yhHEOOnPNRG4kRNfq8mUY7HnQadBVCppY4ZaRfq427gcMYNPZHivC3Ve-PpnH1RfbM6ObyRa5t1jeZdx_3mbmM4LcQze/w640-h527/w+hello+2.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing Watercolor" width="640" /></a></p><p>The next day I stamped the Statement Flower with black memento ink. Then I picked out a light and dark green floss for the leaves and a light and dark pink floss for the flowers. I used only one thread and did some back stitching to outline the leaves and flowers, then I went in with the darker colors and added my own stitching to add shadow/darker areas.</p><p>Next, I iron on some interfacing to help stiffen the fabric and helps to hold the back floss in place. It also limits the fraying of the edges, because I went and cut out the flower. I left a border around the flowers. Since it was going on a card I didn't use a fraying glue that would really stop any unraveling!</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv7a7AZuaIDYu3oQL16iaf6Pu6p7tI32b3OG-Q3n4yvV0V1zhXRc9r43eFtw7tMxp3dbvJQV0MRsI8N18yoJYhMRkniB32maLe09wQX4SmaVISERRy2-Q4Kobc336URXfg58_tAN26tJGN/s2373/w+hello+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1875" data-original-width="2373" height="506" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv7a7AZuaIDYu3oQL16iaf6Pu6p7tI32b3OG-Q3n4yvV0V1zhXRc9r43eFtw7tMxp3dbvJQV0MRsI8N18yoJYhMRkniB32maLe09wQX4SmaVISERRy2-Q4Kobc336URXfg58_tAN26tJGN/w640-h506/w+hello+4.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing Watercolor" width="640" /></a></p><p>For my card I pulled out a Hero Arts stencil and a black card base. I used some watermark ink to ink up the stencil, but kept it loose with uneven edges. Then I used some green Perfect Pearls and added some color the watermark ink. I used a paint brush to clean any extra off. </p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXMILz4MQGaedmjuCqPJGwjxRnZFzHo6tOwZES-jMqX9yeCTtIX7FxUpJx2spuRFiMcEasYZPW_Jg5l-MfE_cJj3TI6eMpVfmvWHAW6utsObJawnsKu-rA4lwI7BE1eKukRE-9ByYCClLu/s2573/w+hello+8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1808" data-original-width="2573" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXMILz4MQGaedmjuCqPJGwjxRnZFzHo6tOwZES-jMqX9yeCTtIX7FxUpJx2spuRFiMcEasYZPW_Jg5l-MfE_cJj3TI6eMpVfmvWHAW6utsObJawnsKu-rA4lwI7BE1eKukRE-9ByYCClLu/w640-h450/w+hello+8.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing Watercolor" width="640" /></a></p><p>Next, I adhered the stitched flower to the card base. Then I white heat embossed the Hello sentiment, trimmed it and then added it to the card with foam tape. </p><p>While the stitching is a bit more work then the typical card, the recipient can easily frame it to enjoy year round!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!</p><p>Dana</p>Danahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03249544014198855369noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7185148603393592414.post-25264858059161253862020-08-27T10:36:00.000-04:002020-08-27T10:36:09.232-04:00Altenew - Sewing & Watercolors<p> Hello!</p><p>I'm stopping by with a project - not a card - Shocking, I know!!! Hehe! Altenew has a <a href="https://altenewblog.com/creativity-inspired-altenew-sewing-contest-2020/" target="_blank">sewing contest </a>and I knew I had to try a few things! You have find all the info here, if you want to play along, but hurry it ends the 31st!!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiVMApP_p7CLY4sOw-xWyhqQxGmUrxUIDfszni2HEK36xG7qGkMXT6wGa_-BtZgxueoT7Uc2avwWcER-L1V3l_eRJGYxXzO8-FGPaAgz4522oAqD84YZKfstuzaZ0X22_DGAEoH4RXjwF7/s1200/SM-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiVMApP_p7CLY4sOw-xWyhqQxGmUrxUIDfszni2HEK36xG7qGkMXT6wGa_-BtZgxueoT7Uc2avwWcER-L1V3l_eRJGYxXzO8-FGPaAgz4522oAqD84YZKfstuzaZ0X22_DGAEoH4RXjwF7/s640/SM-2.jpg" /></a></div><p>So for a while I've been wanting to try watercoloring on my cross stitch fabric. I've been cross stitching longer then I've been card making!! I had some 28 ct white evenweave that I cut up to experiment with. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrwoQMeVOxe8V8py_KhjewIu1jbea_QJJtFedMFWvsGgnEhPiPw2EvzochyiTZxHTwGZCn21RUZS2nqVxoEHM_EdmUffkzsFdDM-ucxmKpfXyqrzZzFJjvejXtkB2K033nh1zrUwWt0YTs/s2399/w+butterfly+10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2399" data-original-width="1909" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrwoQMeVOxe8V8py_KhjewIu1jbea_QJJtFedMFWvsGgnEhPiPw2EvzochyiTZxHTwGZCn21RUZS2nqVxoEHM_EdmUffkzsFdDM-ucxmKpfXyqrzZzFJjvejXtkB2K033nh1zrUwWt0YTs/w509-h640/w+butterfly+10.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing & Watercolor" width="509" /></a></div><p>I found that using a lot water with the watercolors was the best way to add color to the fabric. First I would add the watercolor to the fabric, then add water and work it into the fabric. To make the color darker and brighter I would add more watercolor (with lots of water). If the watercolor is more intense (more pigment, then water) then it was splotching on the fabric and didn't move through the fabric . But lots of water with a little pigment, would spread much easier.</p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1868" data-original-width="2473" height="483" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipsnn2jnDOQhG-7AJIa-K1Cfc1yLHWOrUDYHDkFGgFtkJCFB1lRnz3TEzOFIJC4pF0VqncmigS21CiRO_b-oMTOjB3GmDO2ikq2u-5EiAv8VJfAcNpm4tk1_9WF49_yfKIigcNdWs8iXV1/w640-h483/w+butterfly+11.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing & Watercolor" width="640" /></p><p>After doing my watercoloring I let the fabric dry over night. The next day I came back and used the butterfly from the <a href="https://altenew.com/products/ori-kami" target="_blank">Ori Kami </a>stamp set. I just used regular memento black ink, stamping lightly. </p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="1868" data-original-width="2473" height="483" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0gG_xUJ2c-IC4s2CelYyrXlIxYR7GhImRGZUXuO3e0CImjOoPP7wf0U_6FrcgmmBmLEx8NiKIftov1f7p2ObtXcHCR5qp6JGiPOHSwDnyEPgxpzuHwGZI4Jt8sG5e2zcCu_LPhjBVN20p/w640-h483/w+butterfly+12.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing & Watercolor" width="640" /></p><p>Then I started stitching! I used three threads of black floss and did long stitches over the stamped butterflies. A little tip for you, there is no need to use knots to start or finish your stitching. Just leave a tail when you start and as you stitch, your stitches will hold the tail. When you are done stitching, just thread your needle through your stitching on the back, then trim the extra. </p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwl-_fWIvDO1TrKErnHLpmDs-__0-gnPKVwY-SjDdxFIx3xYBV4NkSD03YTaaVjw9yfwe8SBWcP-IJhEmTI0xg3Y5-PdL2ybOLqqlEENFt3qPCektzt1OZ5pJ38UUZohmtE5EUrx6Ayi6W/s2507/w+butterfly+15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1981" data-original-width="2507" height="506" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwl-_fWIvDO1TrKErnHLpmDs-__0-gnPKVwY-SjDdxFIx3xYBV4NkSD03YTaaVjw9yfwe8SBWcP-IJhEmTI0xg3Y5-PdL2ybOLqqlEENFt3qPCektzt1OZ5pJ38UUZohmtE5EUrx6Ayi6W/w640-h506/w+butterfly+15.jpg" title="Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew Sewing & Watercolor" width="640" /></a></p><p>To finish the stitching I used iron interfacing on the back, this helps strengthen your fabric, holds your wrong side stitching in place and and lessons the chance for edge fraying. From the craft store I found a simple black frame for my stitching!</p><p>Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back in a day or two with my second project for the contest!!</p><p>Dana</p>Danahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03249544014198855369noreply@blogger.com0
