Art Impressions Fairy Flutter

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! I have a card featuring the Fairy Flutter stamp set!! I love these Flutter's, so cute and interactive! For the fairy, the wings go up and down when you pull and push the tab.

I started by stamping the images and using my Spectrum Noir markers to color them. I used: AP1, AP3, AP4, BG2, BG4, BG7, CT2, CT4, P1, DP2, DP3, DP4, FS2, FS9, TN2. Then I used the matching dies to cut the images out. I used the instructions on the packaging to assemble the wings and pull tab.

Next, I used some Photo Play Paper, Gypsy Rose and added the purple polka-dot pattern to a white card base. Then I used a stitched rectangle to cut some gold polka dot pattern paper. 

I stamped the Poof You're 29 again sentiment at the bottom right corner of the gold polka dots. Then I added the fairy and pull tab. The panel was then added to the card with foam tape. I made a track out of the foam tape so the pull tab doesn't wobble back and forth.

Toadally Fabulous

Hello!! Happy Fourth of Jully!!! 

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today!! I really love the new Wiggle Wobbles!! They are so cute!! My card today features the Toad Wiggle Wobble!

I started by stamp, coloring and then die cutting the toad and all her pieces. I used the following Spectrum Noir Markers: AG1, AG3, AG5, CT1, CT3, DR5, DR6, LY1. I also used one of the green markers to color the white brads that come with the set.

For the rest of the card, I used Heidi Swapp Time Capsule Embellishment Kit. It had some washi tape strips and I added a few of them to a white card base. The kit also has some small journal cards, I added the circle one to the card with foam tape. Then I stamped the Toadally Fabulous sentiment on a rectangle card and added it on top of the circle card. 

The kit has some shaped paper clips and I added one to the journal cards. Last I added the lady toad with a wiggle wobble. With the brads, the toad's legs and arms will dance when you thumb the wobble.

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with a card featuring the Toad Wiggle Wobble stamp set!! These Wiggle Wobbles are so cute and fun!! Great way to add an interactive feature to your card!!

I started by stamping the cute lady toad and then die cutting all the pieces with the matching dies. The set comes with some white brads and I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color them green, along with coloring all the images. I used AG 1, AG3, AG5, CT1, CT4, DR1, DR5, GY1, GY2, LG1, LG3, YG1, YG3. I used the brads to assemble lady toad!

Next, I did the background! I used a Hero Arts Floral Fillagree stencil and placed it over a white card base. I used washi tape to hold it in place. Then I used the SN markers I used above to color in the stencil. 

Then I stamped the sentiment I Find You Quite Ribbiting on a strip of grey cardstock and added it to the card. From my stash, I found decorated acetate shapes, a star and arrow that I added to the card too.

Last, I added the lady toad with a wobble. Not only does she wobble, but her arms and legs will dance too!

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impression blog with another summer card for you! It finally cooled off a little, but I know it will warm up! This card features the Tan It set!! 

I started by stamping the summer lady and the extra behind stamp on white cardstock. Then I used my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend pencils to color her up! I used: Linen, Cream, Cider, Royal Blue, Reef Blue, Black, Pewter, Daisy, Mustard, Pumpkin, Carmine, Jade.  I die cut her out with a fancy rectangle. 

With the matching die I cut out her behind. Then I added it with an action wobble! Then I trimmed up some pattern paper from Carta Bella Soak Up the Sun Collection. I added it to a white card base.

Next, I added the stamped and colored panel to the card. I decided to not use the sentiment in the set, instead used a couple stickers from the collection pack, Playtime, and Adventure! This comes in handy if you happen to need a quick card!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today!! If you are a fan of Flamingos and interactive cards you can't go wrong with the Flamingo Wiggle Wabble set! All the Wiggle Wabble sets are so cute!! 

To start I added a Simon Says Stamp Dot & Lines stencil to the front of a white card base. I used washi tape to hold it in place. Then I added liquid glue to the stencil, just like it was paste. I set it aside to dry and cleaned off the stencil before the glue could dry.

While my background was drying I stamped and die cut all the pieces from the Flamingo set. Then I used my Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Pencils to color the image, instead of using water I used a basic alcohol blender pen to create a watercolor-like look. I used Petunia, Carmine, Ebony, Strawberry, Coral, Bottle Green.

Then I assembled the flamingo with the tiny brads that come with the set. If you run out an can purchase more here. Next, when my background was drying I added some gold foil and ran it through my die cutting machine. The dried glue is sticky enough to hold the gold foil. 

I cut a strip of pattern paper from my scrap pile and stamped the Happy Birthday Flock Star sentiment. I added the strip across the card. Last I added the Flamingo with a wobble.

Art Impressions & Layton's Legacy Card Drive

I'm stopping by today for Art Impressions, they are one of the sponsors of Layton's Legacy Card Drive and Fundraiser blog hop! It's such a wonderful cause, you can stop by Lea's blog for all the information on the card drive, fundraiser and hop! I went with the woodland part of the challenge, using a birthday stamp for an encouragement card!

I started by stamping and die cutting the owl from the new Owl Flutter set. Then I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color each image. I used AP1, BO2, BO4, RB1, RB2, RB4, Blender. Then I followed the directions from the packaging to assemble the owl and the pull tab.

From some old Jillibean Soup Camper themed paper I cut a square from the woodland pattern. I cut a slit in it and threaded through the pull tab. With foam tape, I adhered the owl and added foam tape to the back of the square, including making a 'track' for the pull tab. 

Next, I added some matching green polka dot pattern paper to a white card base. From some woodgrain paper, I masked and stamped the sentiment to read Wishing You OWL the Best! 

I added the woodland square with the owl to the top right corner and then added the sentiment below this with foam tape too. You can see the photos below, the owl's wings up and then down!

Art Impressions Challenge - 231

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge 231 - Winged Things!! AI has a few NEW stamps and dies sets called Flutters! A new line of interactive cards!!

My card features the Owl Flutter card. I started by stamping and coloring the owl images and wings, using my Spectrum Noir Aqua Pencils and an alcohol blender pen. Then I used the matching dies to cut out the images.

I'm not going to go into detail about how to assemble the owl, the set comes with directions and AI has a video that can help with assembly.

After assembly my owl I cut a small square card base with a square die. With a smaller die, I cut a panel of white cardstock. Then I cut a piece of scrap paper with a cloud border die and use that paper to mask off some clouds. I used Distress ink to ink the clouds, moving the cloud paper down and over for each row. Then I added some water to the ink and splatter a bit of blue randomly.

When the splatter was dry I stamped the sentiment in the lower left corner. Then I made a slit in the panel so I could thread my Pull strip through the slit and down so it peeked out at the bottom edge. I used foam tape to make a 'track' for the strip and of course, added more foam tape to the rest of the panel.

I adhered the panel to my blue square card base. And now I can pull or push on the strip to make the wings go up or down. This pic is of them down:

Life Would Be....

I'm on the Art Impressions blog with a card featuring the Elephant Pop Card stamp set! These sets are sooo fun!! A great interactive card anyone would want to receive! 

I started by stamping all the pieces, don't forget to stamp the ears twice!! Then I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color everything up. I used AG1, AG3, AG5, AP1, AP3, AP4, DP1, DP3, DP4, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6. After I used the matching dies to cut everything out.

I'm not going to go into the details on how I assembled everything. You can see this great video that Kate from Art Impression did, it explains everything a lot better then I could!! 

I created a window on the card front so you can see the elephant peeking through. First I added a pattern paper to the front and used a rectangle die to cut the window. Then I used a different pattern paper and two dies to create a frame. Then I added the frame to the front. 

From white cardstock, I die cut a small rectangle and stamped the sentiment. I added it to the card at the bottom of the window.

Art Impressions Challenge #220 Third Dimension

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge #220 - Third Dimension! The challenge goes great with the new Pop Card release!! 5 new sets!! Perfect interactive card with a surprise inside for your recipient!!

My card features the Singing Snowman set! Perfect for the holidays!! The first thing I did was stamp and color the images in the set! I used my Spectrum Noir markers: AB1, AB3, AG1, AG3, AG5, DR4, DR6,  HB2, HB3, IG1, IG2, IG4, JG5, JG6, MB2, MB4, TB1, TB4. Then I used the dies that come with the set to cut everything else.

I also cut a template with the Pop Card Template die, you do need this to make the pop card work! For this card I turned it on the side and then following the instructions included made two cuts at the crease and pressed it in.

Next, I added some cute music pattern paper to the inside of my card. After assembling the snowman on the template I added it to the inside of the card, along with a strip of cardstock adhered to the pressed in pieces mentioned above.

With a circle die I cut a window in the card front and some pattern paper. I lined up the circles and adhered the pattern paper to the front. With matching paper I die cut a smaller circle and stamped the sentiment, then added it to the front of the card, trimming off the extra.

I also cut a few snowflakes with the snowflake dies that come with the set. These along with the cute bird are adhered to the front of the card.

You can see the snowmen through the window, and when the card is open the pop up! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Rock & Roll Action Wobble

Today I'm on the Art Impressions blog sharing a fun card featuring the Rock & Roll Mini Shaker set! The mini shakers are super cute and great for easy interactive cards!!

I started by stamping the image on some white cardstock and then just the smaller image on a piece of scrap paper. Then I used my Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils to color it up! I used: Espresso, Cider, Black, Vintage Blue, Sea Urchin, Violet Pearl, Cream, Royal Blue, Bark, Reef Blue, Velvet, Deep Purple, Eggshell, Pewter.

With the matching die, I cut out the small image. With a fancy square die, I cut out the main image and then stamped the Happy Birthday and Rock & Roll sentiments. With a mini action wobble, I attached the smaller image that I die cut over the bigger image.

From some gold embossed Kraft cardstock, I adhered the fancy square with the wobbly image. I also used the small star dies in the set and cut out some gold mirror stars. Then I just adhered them to the card and last rounded the corners of the card.

Art Impression Challenge #218 - Jiggle A Little

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge #218 - Jiggle A Little!! AI also has a great NEW release of a new product called Wiggle Wobbles! My card features the Flamingo Wiggle Wobble!

I started by stamping the images in the set. You do have to stamp the leg and wing twice! Then I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it. I used: AB1, AB2, AB3, DP1, DP2, DP3, EB3, EB5, FS4, FS9, MG2, MG3, MG5, TN2. With the matching dies that come with the set I die cut all the pieces out.

The set includes mini brads to get you started, but you can buy a big pack on AI's website! I just assembled flamingo with the brads and she is ready to go!!

I pulled out some grey cardstock and made a card base with it. From a Christmas pattern paper pad, I found some cool non-Christmas patterns and cut them with a stitched rectangle. I adhered the pink to the front and the cool green to the inside of the card. With a circle die, I cut a window through the front of the card.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of green pattern paper and trimmed it up and added it below the window on the front of the card. Last I added the Flamingo to the inside of the card with a mini action wobble (more wobbles can be purchased on AI's website!). And wa-la an adorable wobble with awesome action!!

Art Impressions Challenge #208 - Dot's & Stripes

Hello!!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge #208 - Dots & Stripes! AI also has new interactive die and stamp sets, the PopCards!! My card features the Oldie Popcard stamp set and die set along with the PopCard Template.

I started by stamping the all the images in the set. Then I used the following Spectrum Noir Markers to color the images, BG3, BG6, BG10, BP1, CT1, CT4, TB3, TB4, TB5, OR1.

With washi tape I adhered the matching dies to the colored images. I also cut the template from white cardstock. I threaded each layer onto the template. The stamp set has instructions and the AI video channel has a video or two using these stamps and dies.

I added some polka dot paper to the inside of the white cardbase. About 3/4 the way down at the crease I cut 2 slits like the instructions indicate. Then I added the Oldie on the template to the inside of the card along with strip that attaches the raised square to the Oldie. This moves the Oldie when you open the card.

For the outside of the card I added the pink strip paper, along with a strip of polka dot paper. I die cut a white circle and a scallop circle from some pattern paper. Then I stamped the sentiment on the circle and added it to the scallop circle, then added that to the front of the card!
