Trick Or Treat

Hello!!

I'm stopping by with a card I made for Penny Black's Holiday Head Start Challenge. I had all sorts of plans to make a bunch of cards, so I stamped a bunch of Halloween and Christmas Mimi stamps. Well, life got in the way and I'm still coloring some of the images!! I was able to get the Halloween Mimi stamps colored and cut out. I made this card weeks ago, but only just now had time to edit the photos, just in time for the deadline tonight!!

I stamped all the images from the Mimi Halloween stamp set. The flying witch is colored but will go on another card. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color them up, using AGI, AG3, BO2, BO3, BO4, CT1, CT4, DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6. Then I just fussy cut them all out.

With a black card base, I used a spider web stencil and white ink to get the cool pattern. Then I cut an orange Halloween pattern paper from a stitched rectangle. I added the panel to the card.

Then I played around the placement of all the kids when I was happy with it I added them to the card with foam tape. Since the witch is holding a bag that says Trick or Treats I didn't add a sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Hopefully, I'll get around to finishing the Christmas Mimi's I have stamped and make them into cards to share with you!!

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello!!

Today is the last day for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!! I'm just squeaking in with a second card! At the end of today I will have taken two exams, yesterday two exams, so yeah! A crafty break for me tomorrow and its back to studying getting ready for one exam late next week!! But enough about exams!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp
I've been seeing a few people using Ranger's Perfect Pearls and I have been really wanting to use them as I have 4 colors. And this is the perfect time to use them as they are very fall colors!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp

So I cut a stitched rectangle from black cardstock. With Ranger's Perfect Medium I stamped the solid leaves from Penny Black Foliage Fancy stamp set. I stamped them all over the cardstock. Then I used the different Perfect Pearls colors and added them to the watermark leaves. I used Perfect Copper, Gold, Bronze, and Pearl.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp

After whipping off the extra powder I stamped the outline leaves in Perfect Medium on each leaf. Then I added black embossing powder and heated it up. I went back in with a little bit of each of the pearls to do a little touch-up. It's hard to see in the photos but I really love the shine the powder gives off and the shine of the embossing powder.

With Simon Says Stamp Coffee Cup dies I cut a cup from Kraft cardstock. I used some distress ink to darken the cup and color the heart red. From the Kraft cardstock I cut a strip and stamped the sentiment Friendship Has its Perks from Simon Says Stamp What's Brewing stamp set.

I wrapped some black twine around the leaf panel and then added the sentiment strip. I tucked it the coffee cup behind the twine and then added the panel to a Kraft card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Coffee Loving Card Makers Fall 2016 Blog Hop

Hello!

I'm popping in with a card I made for the Fall 2016 Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog Hop! I made this last week, but only now got around to having time to edit the photos!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp Penny Black
I started by stamping Penny Blacks Foliage Fancy leaves with distress markers. I just colored the markers on the solid stamp and then stamped it on water color paper. With a wet paint brush I dabbed at the ink to help spread it around a little. When the ink was dry I stamped the leaf outlines in brown ink. Then I fussy cut around the three leaves.

Next I pulled out Simon Says Stamp What's Brewing and stamped the mug on some pattern paper from Fancy Pants' Happy Go Luck paper pad (all pattern paper is from this pad). I fussy cut around the mug and colored the liquid inside brown. From the SSS set I stamped You're the Best on the inside of the mug.

Then, from the Papertrey Ink Autumn Acorns set I colored the acorn with a distress marker and stamped it on water color paper. I fussy cut it out with sharp scissors.

From the PTI Notebook die I cut some brown card stock and added it to some polka dot paper. I used some distress ink to add a little ink around the edge before added it to a white card base. On top of the brown note book page I added the leaves, then some twine I looped a few times then I added the acorn and mug. Last I added a few brads after cutting off the tails of the brads.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Best Wishes

Hello!!

I'm stopping in with a card today using a new stamp I picked up at scrapbook show that came through town a couple weeks ago! I picked up quite a few stamps, more then I really need, but it's nice to have all these different stamps in once place!! And of course no shipping charge!! :) I picked up a couple Penny Black stamps and my card today features the Poppy Gems stamp.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I started by stamping the poppies in brown in on watercolor card stock. Then I used some Prima Watercolors to color them, all from the Decadent Pies set.

I tend to be heavy handed when I watercolor with real paints (verses distress markers or inks). I also have a hard time waiting for each layers to dry. You are probably thinking that's what an heat gun is for, but mine is on the other side of the room and I'm too lazy to keep getting up to blast my paper with some heat!!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

When I was finally done messing with color, I waited awhile and then used the same colors to flick some blotches all over the panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Special Wishes stamp set. Last I added a few sequins and mounted the panel on a white card base.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

I Heart You

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day!!

Since it's Valentine's Day i'm sharing a love card i made for Essentials by Ellen February Mix It Up Challenge! The challenge is to use any Essentials by Ellen products and any Penny Black products, both together on one project! I used Ellen's Heart and Home die (the hearts) and stamps from I Heart You set from Penny Black. I am also entering this in Penny Black Saturday Challenge Use Hearts and/or Red!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I started by stamping Mimi holding a heart balloon on water color paper. Then i used my distress markers to color her, however this time i did it a little differently then i normally do. I usually add color with the marker and with a wet to damp brush push the color around, layering more colors or other colors as i go. But this time i didn;t add water, just colored with each marker. I did add water with the face, i use Tattered Rose for skin and it would be way to dark without the water!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

Next i fussy cut around the top part of the image and trimmed the remaining to a rectangle and rounding the bottom corners. I found a die cut black stitched oval and i placed Mimi at the bottom of the oval.

For a sentiment i stamped I Heart You in white on black card stock, then trimmed it and rounded the bottom corners. then i just tucked it behind Mimi at her feet.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I picked out some pattern paper (Crate Paper - Kiss Kiss) and i cut a pretty flower pattern with a stitched rectangle. Then i picked out a pink pattern and a XOXO pattern, both die cutting them with the hearts from Ellen's Heart & Home die.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
First i added the oval, Mimi and sentiment to the flower pattern paper. Then i adhered the hearts around Mimi. To add a little sparkle i used my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen to the dots in the balloon, bow and pink die cut hearts.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Pinterest Inspired December Challenge

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge over at the Pinterest Inspired Challenge! This months challenge will run for 2 months to give you a extra time with the holiday's fast approaching!! Here 's the inspiration:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I really loved the doodle layers in the girls skirt, so i did my own layered version on my card. I started with a white card stock panel. To create each layer i lined up the panel on my craft mat and used washi tape to make my layers.

Form my stamp collection, i pulled out a whole bunch of background stamps and stamped the different patterns in each layer. A little time consuming, but i love how it turned out. After stamping i used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color most of the layers, since i was making a Christmas card i went with green and red along with a touch of blue and pink.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

Next i added a black ink between each layer with a sharpie marker and a ruler, this added a little finishing touch! Then i wrapped some twine around the panel and tied it in a bow.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I die cut a stitched oval and stamped the adorable Mimi by Penny Black and colored her with the same colors i used on the background. Then i add the oval to my card base with foam tape. Last i just adhered the panel to a white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will play along with us at the Pinterest Inspired Challenge

Elegant Hello

Hiya!!

Today i'm on The Alley Way Stamps blog with a card for you showing off the new Sweet Thing stamp set. I paired it with a flower die and some pearls to make an elegant card.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started by stamping the big Hello in versamark ink, then heat embossing it with white embossing powder. When i did it, the sentiment was so big that the embossing was a little pot-marked. To make it solid, i used my versamark pen to color in the work and add more embossing powder. This filled out the the word nicely!!

Next i die cut a flower from watercolor paper and used my Spectrum Aqua markers to color them. To add a little sparkle i added some Wink of Stella to the flowers.

I added the flowers to my card with foam tape, i bent the one flower a little bit so it was more over the Hello. Last i added some pearls.

thanks so much for stopping by!!

Pinterest Inspired Challenge #3

Hello!!

This is my second post today, click here if you are looking for my Art Impression Challenge post!

It's time for a new Pinterest Inspired Challenge!! If you played along last challenge, make sure you see if you won! Either way i hope you play along with the new challenge! Here is the inspiration:

I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle from water color paper. then i placed a Penny Black stencil over the panel. I used the Slate Spectrum Aqua Marker and scribbled it on a clear block, then added some water to it. With a paint brush i colored the stencil, i found that less water is better!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I laid down a wash of light color, then went in with the actual marker and spread that out a little with a damp brush. When it was semi dry i added a little bit more marker, and just barely spread the ink out.

While the panel was drying i stamped the snowflake and sentiment banner, one with grey pigment ink and the other with distress ink. Then i fussy cut them out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

Before i added the flags i mixed up some more Slate and water and flicked the ink over the panel. When that was dry i placed the flags over the panel and used a paper peicer to punch some holes. I used a need and some twine to stitch in a hanger for the banners.  Last i added a few glitter gems to the banners and added the panel to a black card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I look forward to seeing your take on the inspiration!!
