Just a Little Bit of Love

Hey there!!

Well yesterday my Christmas break officially came to an end as the new semester started! It should be a fun semester 3 academic classes and a dance exercise class! Yep you read it right dance exercise! I needed 1 credit to make it to the full time minimum and i wanted to take the easiest class available and i figured any lost weight will be an extra bonus, YAY!!

Today i have a card for The Runway Inspired Challenge and for Keep It Simple Challenge: Text.

I started with some pattern paper that has text, the word love, very tiny loves!! Next i die cut a heart from a full adhesive post it note. I adhered it in the center of the pattern paper panel. Next i use dye ink and an ink applicator tool to ink up the area around the post it note heart.

Next i used various ink colors to stamp several different hearts. All the hearts are from various The Alley Way Stamp sets, the specific sets are listed below. I stamped off a couple of the hearts and also used a tiny circle and star cluster to stamp around the blue cloud in the same ink (but you can;t really see it in the picture!)

I also added tiny dots of glitter glue. After i was done stamping and inking, i pulled up the post it note heart and with a fine black pen i added some lines, dashes and dots to outline the heart.

Last i die cut the sentiment love from blue glitter paper. To make it pop more from the card i die cut it 3 more times from white cardstock, then run 2 of them and the glitter one through my sticker maker machine. I adhered each layer together, then because i didn;t like the white edge i used a black marker to color all the edges. I then adhered the love to my card base.

I also want to mention that this month is The Alley Way Stamps 3rd birthday and to celebrate, there is a coupon good for January, 25% off your purchase, use code TAWSbirthday3 at checkout!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Blue Happy Birthday

Hey there!!

So i'm still in the coloring mood, i still have a couple more cards to share featuring colored images and i even have 3 images colored, but haven;t made them into cards yet... :)  I am entering this into Tiddly Inks Challenge - Clean And Simple.

The first thing i did was stamp and color the Tiddly Ink image. This is the first time i used this stamp set (and i couldn't stop i made another card with another image in the set, the very next day!) I used Distress Markers to color the image.

Once the image was colored i found some pattern paper to match. I used a text pattern paper for the card base and i used a wide piece of blue paper, notching the end.

I adhered the blue panel and the image panel on top. Then i stamped the sentiment and last added a purple button with some black twine!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Enchanted Birthday

Happy Saturday!!

I have a card today that i made for Fusion Card Challenge! I went with just the sketch part of the challenge!

I punched 3 circles from watercolor paper. I stamped three different images from The Alley Way Stamps set Enchanted. I colored each image with distress markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

To make the circles fit on my card base i slightly overlapped them. I added 2 strips of pattern papers at the bottom.

Last i added the sentiment Have a Magical Day, Happy Birthday to the inside of the card.

Hey there!!

Lots happening today!! First i am sharing a project for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge! You have until this coming Thursday to play, click here for the details!!! AND second its The Alley Way Stamps 3rd Birthday and boy we have been celebrating!!! Giveaway Alert!!! Details below!!

I love how the balloons in the picture are dipped in gold, to make my own gold balloons, i first inked up a solid stamp from Spell Check with versamark ink. I then sprinkled on gold embossing powder only on the bottom half. After placing the extra back in the bottle, i sprinkled another color on the top half. Then i heat embossed it. To get a nice flat coverage, i did this twice for each balloon.

To finish the balloons, i added black twine and tied a bow around each balloons tails. Last i stamped the sentiment thanks at the bottom right!

School

Hey there!!

I love winter and snow... i do NOT love a -39 windchill!! That was yesterday after 17 inches of snow!! Its a little better today and by Saturday it will be 38!! Yep and a little bit of rain!! I wish it would just stay cold, like 30 all winter long, i don;t like the up and down!!

But anyway since i've been staying in (other then snow blowing or shoveling of course!) i've made a few cards! Since receiving more Distress Markers for Christmas i have been in a major coloring mood!

I did this card for Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Anything Goes and CAS-ual Friday - In a Word challenge. The In a Word challenge is a word to describe what you hope for the year. My word - School. I will be applying for a 2 year program this spring, if i get in and complete the program i will finally have my bachelor's degree, but for me its so much more then that, it will mean i will have a super good paying job, job security, health insurance and financial security after the student loans are paid off.

I created a background using several stamps from Paper Smooches Smarty Pants set. I stamped them on a journaling card then trimmed off a portion of that card. I added a little paper clip and then adhered it to my card base with foam tape.

I then used some alpha stickers to spell out Good Luck at School. This would be a perfect card for any student at any time in their academic year!!

Warm Birthday

Hello everyone!!

Today i have a card for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. The inspiration is Smitten, anything that you love this time of year. I kind of took it as something to keep us warm this winter and boy do we need it! The lows are in the negative with even colder wind chills!!

I don;t drink coffee or tea but i love to drink hot cider in the winter, so for my card i used a cup image from The Alley Way Stamps Breakfast Club set. I found some plaid pattern paper that i kind of wish was a real blanket!, it looks so warm and cuddly!! I colored the cup with distress markers to match the pattern paper.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I die cut the cup with a scalloped circle and adhered it to my cardbase with foam tape. I then stamped Happy Birthday below the scallop.

Kiss a Frog

Hi there!!

How is everyone!! A little cold... a little snowy here!! (ok, really a lot but who's counting!)  We got about 7ish inches over New Years and more is expected tomorrow!

So i'm not really a New Years resolution kind of person, but this year i have made a crafty resolution that i'm really hoping to keep! Like everyone i have lots of crafty stuff, tons of stamps, embellishments, pattern paper, dies etc.  So i have decided to not buy any more crafty stuff!! Gasp!!!

Now there are a few exceptions:
  1. Adhesive and cardstock - I will definitely run out of both before the end of the year, and you kind of need these to make cards!!!
  2. Gift Cards - Anything crafty wise i purchase with gift cards will not count, cuz its not my money!! I have a couple gift cards from Christmas and will probably get another for my birthday later in the year... i'll use these when i really, really want something that i can;t live without!!!
  3. Prizes - If i win something ------> still not spending my money!!
  4. Custom Orders - On occasion i get custom order from my etsy shop, so any supplies i might need to complete an order will not count!
  5. Design Team Purchases!  - I'm not going to count these, because having a good round collection helps me support and show off their stamps that much better! (hey, that's my story and i'm sticking to it!!!)  :D
This will force me to use what i have, and i have a lot!! And i think i will save a lot of money, which is always nice!! :)  As the months go by i'll let you know how it goes!! It will be especially hard when my mom wants to go to Micheal's or Joann's, but i'm committed!!

Ok, so on to my card!! I whipped up this card for the CAS(E) this Sketch! I also used some new copics to color the cute frog image!! Simon Says Stamps has bundles of easily blendable copic colors and i went to Micheal's and was able to find some of the green colors. I really liked it, but alas, do to what i mentioned above i will NOT be buying anymore :(

I used the cute frog from The Alley Way Stamps Enchanted set, colored with copics and cut it out. I also used a self inking tool that i received with my World Card Making Day prize package. It added dash lines across my card.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Last i adhered the frog to the cardbase with foam tape and stamped the sentiment!
