Fanatical About Botanical - Moxie Fab Challenge

Hi,

Today i have a card for Moxie Fab's Fanatical About Botanical Challenge. I was at Hobby Lobby and found some great butterfly paper, that i though would be great for this challenge. At first i was stumped as how to make this card, i didn't want to cover up the butterflies with layers of paper or stamped focal images. But then i thought about doing some fussy cutting just might work.

After deciding on the card size, i cut the pattern paper to size. Then i found the same butterflies on my left overs and second page. I cut each one out and adhered them with pop up dots over the same butterfly on my card. Then i trimmed the butterflies that hung over the edge.

I'm sorry for the next 2 photos. I lost all the butterfly patterns when i tried to bright these 2 photos.

In the bottom left i placed a small butterfly i got from the flower arranging section, over one of the butterflies on the pattern paper. I took out the wire piece that came with butterfly, and just adhered it to the card.

I used a piece of kraft card stock and stamped the sentiment flutter by friend in a distress ink and adhered this to the right of the butterfly.

Thanks for stopping in!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge - The Long and Short of It

Hi!
Today i have a card for this weeks CAS-ual Friday's Challenge. The challenge is to make a clean and simple 4 x 9 card. I like long cards, so it was just a matter of keeping it CAS!

I used PTI rustic cream card stock and used some pumpkin stamps from Verve. I stamped them in brown ink on the cardstock that was trimmed about 1/4 inches short of the cardbase. I stamped the sentiment So Grateful for You next to the pumpkins.

I used watercolor crayon's to color the pumpkins. I added just a touch of green glitter to the pumpkin leaves. Last i add a row of orange pearl like embellishments from the sentiment to the edge. Last i adhered this panel to the cardbase with pop up dots.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp-a-Faire Challenge #10

Hello,

Today i have 3 mini cards for PTI Stamp-a-Faire Challenge #10. The challenge was to stamp a background plus a bigger focal image, all in one layer. I went with little mini cards, thinking i could whip a couple up real fast ... wrong!!  I spent about twenty minutes just trying to find the right color inks to go with my pattern paper and that were dark enough to see on kraft cardstock. But it was worth it, as i think they turned out pretty good!
I stamped the background from PTI's Garden Variety, the little daisy like flowers, in versamark. Then with one of the flowers from Daydreamer. Then adhered a strip of pattern paper across the front.
For the circle i used the circle doily from Tag Its #5 and then stamped the big flower one more time in a light brown. Then in a dark brown i used a sentiment from the same Tag Its. I added tiny glitter dots to the flower center and added the circle to the card with pop up dots.

Thanks for looking!!

Papertrey Ink - July Blog Hop

Hello,
This months Papertrey Ink Blog Hop is about inspiration from this Photo:

I was inspired by the colors, orange is my favorite color so any excuse to use it, i will!! Usually orange is put with pink, so it was nice to see it with a blue/green color. I didn't have a plan for my card, i just started with the Daydreamer stamp set, then went to my scrapbin to find some similar colors to the photo.

I cut a tag from sand colored paper, then stamped a sentiment from Daydreamer set. Then i stamped a small flower from the set in versamark and used clear embossing powder. I used the small burst in light orange, and stamped the center of each flower. Last i added orange rhinestones to each flower.
For the top of the tag i wanted to do something a little different then add a piece of ribbon in the traditional tag style. Instead i cut a piece of ribbon and thread it through the whole, with a bit left over at the back. Then i threaded the other end back through the whole but left a loop on the right side. Next i threaded it back through, but left a small loop on the wrong side of the tag. I did this until i had 3 loops. The front loops are bigger then the back. Next i adjusted the front loops, by pulling on the back loops, until the front loops looked like a flower. To secure it, i used the extra long tails and covered the small loops on the back and pressed the middle of the flower (front) to flatten the back loops. With a little double sided adhesive i secured my long tails over the loops in the back. Last i added a big orange rhinestone to the center of the flower

For my background paper, i started with some poke-a-dot paper. I then used the same burst i used on the flower and stamped it over the pattern paper in orange ink. Next i used some tissue tape from Tim Holtz to make pleats across the pattern paper. I must say i am kind of disappointed in the tissue tape. The package said adhesive tape, and it is adhesive, but it is not permanent and easy to remove from the front of the card.

So after doing my pleats, i removed the pleated strip from the patter paper and used double sided tape on the front and back of the strip, then adhered it to the card. This way it will stay on the card, and the tape on the front will keep the pleats from coming undone.

I then used the orange ribbon and tied it around the pattern paper and over the top of the pleated tissue tape. I tied a bow off to the left and then added my tag. I adhered this to my cardbase, after rounding all corners.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge - Here's The Rub

Hi,

I have 2 projects to share to day. The 1st is a card for CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. Since its getting latter in the year i am going to start making fall, Halloween and Christmas cards. I looked through my Halloween rub-on and sticker file and started with some rub-ons. I made 2 tags with the rub-ons, but i didn't think they were very clean and simple. So i looked again in my file and made a clean and simple card!!

The pumpkins are glitter stickers, i added the tall pumpkin directly on the Kraft cardbase. For the other 3 pumpkins i used baby powder to make the stickers not sticky. Then i used pop up dots to adhere the pumpkins to the cardbase

Below the pumpkins i stamped the sentiment pumpkin patch in versa mark. A very nice clean and simple card.

For the Halloween tags, it started with the rub-on sentiment Monsters on Parade. As soon as saw this sentiment i knew i had the perfect stamps to use. Unity has these cute little guys dressed up as a mummy and Frankenstein (there is also a vampire, but i only had 2 of the rub-on sentiments). I stamped them on white cardstock and colored them with colored pencils. After cutting them out i added a touch of glitter to them.

Then i used a tag die out of pattern paper and edged them with purple ink. I cut a PTI fillable frame from orange pattern paper. I added the rub-on to the frame and on the tag. Then i added the cute little monster with pop up dots

Thanks for stopping by!!

Summer Card Camp - Color Combo - Week 4 #2

Hi,

Today i have another card for Summer Card Camps Color Combo. This second card came a lot easier then the 1st card. I used a old timey phone and vase with flowers. These came from the same set as the typewriter.

I stamped the vase on watercolor paper and embossed them with clear powder. Then i embossed the telephone with black embossing powder. Then i used watercolor crayons to paint the blues and greens. I trimmed the watercolor paper and rounded the edges.

I used some twill ribbon along the bottom and tied a green button around the ribbon with twine. Then i used die cut alpha's to spell Call Me. Last i added a little bit of glitter to the flower centers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Card Camp - Color Combo - Week 4

Hello,

Today i have a card for Summer Card Camp Color Combo. This weeks colors were hard! I think i got pretty close, but i know its not right on. But i like the card regardless!

I wanted to use white embossing powder and watercolor paper i had, but after trying a few things, nothing was looking good. So i thought why not try it with black instead of white. And i really like the look!

I used a typewriter from Heidi Grace and embossed it in black. Then i used water color crayons to get my greens and blues. Then i cut it out. I then looked through my pattern paper and found the diamond pattern paper and the periodic table paper. Both were in the blue/green colors, plus the periodic table is nice and nerdy!

After getting my pattern paper set, i needed a sentiment, but i don;t have any that would go with a typewriter, so i used some old rub on letters. I did these on white cardstock and cut out and adhered them to a die cut rectangle. Then for the word Type, i used a bigger rub-on alphabet, put this on textured paper and tore it to size.

I felt i still need a little bit more green then what was in the typewriter so i found some that went nicely with my pattern paper from my scrap bin. Every bright green i tried to use, just clashed with the pattern paper, so i just went with the green that went with the pattern paper.

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Card Camp - Week 3 Color Combo

Hello,

This is my second card with this color combo.  I did have a 3rd card, but it was just kind of blah! But this card turned out great. I used the same technique i used for this card. This time i used a different flower die and tissue paper. Doing errands this weekend i picked up some red tissue paper and a tan sparkle tissue paper  (from Target). But you can't see any sparkle in the tissue paper, even in person.

I die cut 3 flower sizes from both colors. I separated the tissue layers and then crumpled a few at a time then smooth them out a little. Then layering red then tan. I had enough to make 2 flowers, the second went in the extra/left over embellishment drawer to use at a later date. I pierced two holes and added a brown button with twine. Then tied the twine in a tiny bow.

Next i die cut a piece of cork with a tag die. The cork i spotted on my trip to Target, too. The back is adhesive (which makes it super easy to use!) i got it the same place contact paper is, along with that plastic stuff you line your shelf's with. Which at least in my local Target was btw the plastic storage and cleaning supplies. :)

I also die cut a piece of cardboard recycle from a Wheatbles box. I adhere the cork to this, which help the cork lie flat as it curled a little from the die cutting machine. I used another die to cut a banner from brown cardstock and adhered it to tag and trimmed. I added white glitter stickers to this brown piece. And adhered my flower to tag as well.

On kraft cardstock i stamp a hounds tooth background with versamark. From red poke-a-dot paper i used a border punch. Then used some double sided tape to add a strip of glitter to the red pattern paper. I adhered this to my cardbase and then added the tag on top.

Thanks for stopping in!

Summer Camp Color Combo & Moxie Fab Challenge

Hello,

Today i have a quick post for a card that i made tonight. My 1st intention in making it just for Summer Card Camp - Color Combo this week. But i thought it turned out pretty good and also entering it in Moxie Fab Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge.
I started with a kraft cardbase and stamped the key background in brick red. Then from my scrap bin i adhered a piece of dark brown cardstock almost across the front of the card. Below this i stamped In My Heart in a dark brown.

Next i die cut a heart and stamped a red poke-a-dot heart and adhered it with pop up dots. Then i die cut the word forever from scrap cardstock and adhered it to the front.

A nice quick card! (i already had the forever and heart die cut)

Thanks for looking!!

Summer Card Camp - Color Combo #3

Hi,

This is the last card i made for this weeks color combo. CAS-Friday challenge this week if for a shaped card, and the 1st card i designed in my head was this one, but it really isn;t a CAS kind of card. So i came up with another card for that challenge, but this was still in my head and i really wanted to see if it would come out like i pictured it. And i have to say it came out really good!

I used a spellbinder flower dies. I cut 2 out of white cardstock with the largest die. Then i cut a whole bunch from orange and pink cardstock and pattern paper. I used all scraps from my scrap file. After cutting them, i wadded each one up like i was going to throw them away.

After they were all wrinkle i layered them and used a brad to secure all the layers. From yellow cardstock i used a tiny sun punch and pinched each one, then added them to the center. I added just a touch of glitter glue to some of the flower edges.

For leaves i die cut 2 from green cardstock and pattern paper. I adhered these 1st to my cardbase then adhered the flower. I stamped hello 3 times on a tiny tag and added it to the flower.

Thanks for stopping in and stay cool!!

Challegnes Galore #2

Hello,

I have 2 cards for 2 different challenges. The 1st is CAS-ual Fridays Shape Card Challenge. This was a real challenge for me. I don't have any shape card templates and haven't really done any in the past (circle cards don;t count!) :)  After trying a few things i remembered i had a bird chipboard. Its a decent size and i think makes a great little card.

I traced the bird twice on white card stock and once on pattern paper. I scored a line at the birds head and tail. I attached the front bird to the back, just above the score line. This makes the birds a card.

With distress ink i lightly inked the pattern paper bird. I tied twine around the birds neck, added a tiny kraft tag that i stamped Thanks in brown ink.

I added blue paper roses along the birds neck. I really like how this turned out, it has a nice vintage feel and is still clean and simple!

The second challenge is Moxie Fab's Beautiful Borders. For this card i die cut some pattern paper with a scallop edged die. I used the green poke a dot negative and lined it up with the pink flower scallops. I adhered this to my kraft cardbase.

Using a poke a dot stamp i added white dots to the cardbase. I used a banner die and white rub-ons to make a baby banner. For the flower i used cupcake baking cups and added a button and twine bow to the middle.

Thanks for looking!!

Stamp It and Color Challenge

Hello!

I have another card for the Summer Card Camp color challenge. I am also entering it for Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge in the Moxie Fab World :)

I started with a Kraft cardbase and i first stamped a trail in a light brown. Then i stamped multicolored butterflies to cover the front. I used the colors orange, light orange, green, light green, dark pink and yellow, these go with this weeks Summer Card Camp colors.

After stamping the butterflies, i die cut the matching butterfly. I used a piece of scrap pattern paper, that surprisingly had all my colors in a zig zag pattern. I adhered the butterfly with a pop up dot and added a pink rhinestone to the  middle.

Last i stamped the sentiment Smile in black ink, close to the bottom of the card.

Thanks for stopping in!!

Card Camp Color Combo

Hi!

So this weeks color combo is SO nice!!! Orange is my favorite color, so having a light and dark orange is AWESOME!! Plus green is my second favorite color ... so i'm really liking this combo!! I plan on doing a few more cards this weekend!
But so far i just have this one card. I started with a Kraft cardbase and cut a label shape from PTI's Mat Stack 5 from kraft cardstock. I stamped some vases from PTI's Gracious Vases. I stamped the solid vase in a light color and the outline in a darker color. After i finished the card i realized i only have one little spot of green, and that is one of the vases (oh, well i liked how it turned out even, with not much green :)  )  I added just a tiny touch of glitter glue to the flowers that i put in one of the vases. I stamped You Are Cherished in a dark brown ink.

For the cardbase i used PTI's Mehndi Medallion for the background, stamped in the dark and light pink. Behind my label i used a bright orange ribbon and added a button below the label.

Thanks for stopping in!!
