Faux One Layer Card with Art Impressions

Hiya!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with a one layer circle card! Ok, technically it's not one layer as my card base and colored image are actually two pieces! BUT,  I wanted to hide the back side of the coloring panel, you really don't want your recipient to see it when they open the card, do you?!?!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
To create a circle card I first cut a circle from white cardstock. Then I scored some white card stock and placed the circle die on top. The die is just a tiny bit above the scored top, this will create the fold.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I stamped the little floating dog from Reel Great Guys stamp set. Then I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers to color him. I used AB1, AB2, AP1, AP2, BG2, BG2, BT1, CR11, EB1, EB2, EB4.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I stamped the gone fishing just above the dog and then adhered the circle to the circle card base. To make the card stand I just trimmed a little bit from the bottom. Otherwise, I kept it pretty simple, figured this would be perfect for a guy and they don't need a lot of sparkle or embellishments!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Thanks A Latte!

Hello!

I made an extra card for the Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop!! There is still time to play along so make sure to link up your Spring Coffee Themed card!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew & Simon Says Stamp & Essentials by Ellen
For this card I used a few different stamp sets. I started with the mug from Simon Says Stamp What's Brewing stamp set and I stamped it many times on white card stock. Then I pulled several of the flower and leaves stamps from Altenew's Adore You set. I stamped the flowers and leaves randomly all over the white mugs, I did make a mask for the top of the mug so I would stamp flowers on the inside of the mug.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew & Simon Says Stamp & Essentials by Ellen
Next I fussy cut out all the mugs and then laid them on a white card base. When I was happy with the arrangement I used some liquid adhesive to glue them down. Once they were try I trimmed off any parts that hung over the edge. I also used some of those extra pieces to add a few more mugs around some of the big plank spaces still left.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew & Simon Says Stamp & Essentials by Ellen

I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color the flowers. For the leaves I used LG3, LG5. For the flowers I used the Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers AP1, AP2, BO1, BO2, DP1, DP2, VB1, VB2.  I did some loose coloring leaving some white edges on the leaves and flowers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew & Simon Says Stamp & Essentials by Ellen

For a sentiment I used the Thanks a Latte from Essentials by Ellen, Oh, Frappe stamp set. I trimmed the sentiment to a strip and added it across my card with foam tape.

Mixing Pattern Paper Collection

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for Photo Play Paper Mix/Match Challenge. I almost forgot to post my card, the deadline is tomorrow, so if you want to play along you better hurry!! You can check out their Facebook page for the details!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Photo Play Paper & Jillibean Soup
I wanted to play along because it gave me a good excuse to use the Summer Daydreams collection I got somewhat recently, LOL!! I also used the Paper Dolls collection. After checking out both collections to come up with a way to use them together I decided to use Jillibean Soup stamp set (sorry it doesn't have a name) with a super adorable whale!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Photo Play Paper & Jillibean Soup

To start I used a cool scallop border pattern paper from Paper Dolls and die cut it with a stitched rectangle. Then I adhered it directly to a white card base and rounded the card bases' corners.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Photo Play Paper & Jillibean Soup

I stamped the cute whale on the water pattern paper from Summer Daydreams and then fussy cut it out. From the same collection, I found a couple bubble stickers. I added the whale and bubbles to the card with foam tape.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Photo Play Paper & Jillibean Soup

From the Jilliean set, I stamped the Sea You Soon! in between the scallops. And last added a small flower sticker from Paper Dolls to the whale, making the whale a girl!! LOL!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll be back tomorrow with a bonus card I made for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower
I started my card with Waffle Flowers Bear & Bird stamp set, and if you follow the WF blog or Instagram you have seen Nina's loose coloring with Copic markers. I really like the looked and figured it was time to give it a try!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower

First, I stamped the images, placing the bear & bird in the middle and the long flower clusters at each side. On a scrap paper, I stamped one of the round flower clusters and the small coffee cup. Then I picked out 'spring' colors for my loose coloring. I kept the colors simple, a light and a dark, using my Spectrum Noir Markers: EB1, EB2, EB7, GB3, HB1, HB2, LG3, LG5, LY1, LY3, PP1, PP2, TB1, TB4.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower

When my coloring was done I cut out the bear & flowers with a large circle die. I fussy cut out the flower cluster and coffee cup. I used a craft knife to cut the just the bear arms, then I was able to insert the coffee cup between the bear's hands.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower

I added the flower cluster above the bear with foam tape and stamped the You Are Beary Special sentiment on a small die cut circle. Then I adhered some pretty pink and doily pattern paper to a white card base. I added the stamped circles with foam tape and last rounded all the corners.

Art Impressions Challenge 203 - Let's Watercolor

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge 203 - Let's Watercolor. There are new Watercolor Stamps for 2017 and the DT are showing off the new stamps, but you can still play along just do some watercolor!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I started my card by cutting a panel of watercolor card stock. Then I pulled out my Distress Markers (colors used are at the end of the post) and these AI Watercolor sets: Wooden Chair Mini Set, WC Flower Set 2 and WC Foilage Set 2.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Now, I'm not the greatest at water coloring, BUT practice helps!! So don't be discouraged!! And watercolor is very forgiving!! When I do chairs, or pots and other objects I like to color the stamp with my Distress Marker, stamp it and then give it a couple minutes to dry. Then I pull the color out with a little bit of water, also adding more color with the marker. I find that this helps keep the detailed lines better.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Make sure to check out the Art Impression blog for Watercolor Wednesday, for video on how to watercolor with AI stamps! It's a great resource for learning how to do AI watercolor!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
When I was done with all my watercolors I stamped the To A Dear Friend sentiment from the new WC Sentiments set. Last I tied some twine around the panel and adhered it to a white card base.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will play along with us and do some watercolor!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I kept the card fairly simple to show off the fabulous coloring!! The gorgeous butterfly is from Sheena Douglass All A Flutter Stamp Set and I stamped it with brown ink on CC's Kraft Cardstock.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Then I colored each butterfly with my ColourBlend pencils! I used Pumpkin, Nectarine, Passion Fruit, Lake Blue, Saffron, Twilight Blue, Sangria, Boysenberry, Fireweed.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
Just to jazz it up a touch I threaded some pretty dark pink ribbon around the colored panel. I thought about a sentiment but in the end didn't want to cover up the butterflies!!

Happy Easter with Art Impressions

Hello!!

It's time to start thinking about Easter!! My card combines the Windows to the World Bunny in Tulips and the Window Die to make a sweet little Easter card!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started with some pretty pattern paper, that to me looked like some cool wallpaper. The idea is that you are inside looking outside through the window. I trimmed the paper to fit a white card base and then placed the Window Die off to the left, securing it with washi tape. It took a few runs through the die cutting machine to cut through both layers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I cut the Window die again from some brown card stock. To the back side of the window I placed a piece of acetate, this replicates a real window. With a little liquid adhesive, I inserted the brown Window over the acetate.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I stamped the Bunny in Tulips and used my Distress Markers to color it. I used Gathered Twigs, Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, Peeled Paint, Milled Lavender, Shabby Shutter, Mustard Seed, Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw. I used a fancy square die to cut it out, then I placed it on the inside of the card so you can see through the window. Last I stamped the Hoppy Easter sentiment from the Hoppy Easter Stamp Set.

Crafter's Companion on HSN March 8th

Hello!!

Crafter's Companion will be on HSN this coming Wednesday, March 8th! There are a LOT of new products and today I'm sharing a card I made with new Leonie Pujol crafty goodies!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I started with one of the new embossing folders, Love Lines and I used some Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to color the indent side of the embossing folder. I used Crimson, Bud Green, Orange, Yellow, Peacock Blue, Purple, basically repeating ROYGBV until all the lines were filled in. I only spritzed water twice, too much and your colors mix too much and you get a brown mess.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Then, I placed a panel of Crafter's Companion Watercolor cardstock in the folder and made sure to hold it in place as I ran it through my die cutting machine. I pulled it out and set the panel aside to dry.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

While the background was drying I cut a big black heart from the Funky Heart Base Die. From the Folk Art Fun stamp set I stamped the banner and the Follow Your Heart inside on watercolor cardstock. I added some shading with my Charcoal Aqua Marker. A little fussy cutting and I'm ready to finish my card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I added the embossed and watercolor panel to a white card base. Then I added the black die cut heart to the card, but I added it off center. I added the sentiment with foam tape and last added a few scattered black sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!! Make sure you stop by tomorrow for another project featuring some new Crafter's Companion craft goodies!! And of course tune in to HSN to see it all and get it before it;s gone!!
