Ahoy Matey

Hi There!

Today i have a card for Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. Its i busy so far this week final test is tomorrow so i've been studying for that, getting my design team assignments done and this weekend i'll be working on a guest designer projects that you can see next month! (yay!)

I finished this card this past week and just had time today to get pictures taken. The inspiration is a nautical theme:

I have no nautical stamp but luckily i have some wood veneer pieces that fit the theme. I found some pattern paper that could have a nautical feel to it. The picture had some blue and yellow so i found a white and blue stripe pattern. And then for the yellow i found yellow pattern and wood paper.

To make it a littler more 'nautical' i added a strip of navy blue paper and red washi tape across my yellow pattern paper.

I wrapped some white and silver hemp cord around the yellow pattern paper and then added the wood veneer.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi there!

*** Long post today!! ****

Is it hot enough for you?!? I think the whole Northern Hemisphere is in a heatwave!! Its supposed to break sometime Saturday and i can;t wait!!

I was going to have lots of cards to share this week, but i a little unplanned craft room reorganization happen! :)  Last week i found that our jug of distilled water had leaked over a good portion of an old family trunk, it had to come out of the craft room to dry out and luckily it didn;t ruin the wood floor.

While the trunk was out my mom said she still wanted to find a shelf that would go over the trunk and maybe hold some of my crafty supplies that had meandered to the craft room floor! :D

Well after measuring and a couple days of looking we found the perfect self! Here is a picture of what it looked like before, just over a year ago when i moved in with my mom. The trunk is just past the shelf with the cardstock on the left.

Here it is today:

I had a box stuffed with embellishments and 6x6 paper pads, plus more 12 x12 paper holders all on the floor and it was driving my mom crazy! Oh yeah and i had gotten a Silhouette that was moved all over the place as i was using it and not using it.

I really like it now, its a lot easier to see and use my supplies! After everything was organized, i sat down late at night to start a card. I decided to use this weeks colors at Summer Card Camp 2 and the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches:

For my card i flipped the sketch on its side and the layered rectangle became a rectangle that went across most of the card.

I stamped the cute little dog in brown ink and used distress markers to color him. Then from Summer Card Camp i used a versamark pen and colored the image and then embossed it with clear powder (sorry no pic of its shininess, but hey the sun was out and it was 95 degrees, i took super fast pics!!)

Next i stamped a stripe background on the cardbase, then i punched the tab and stamped my sentiment. I adhered the tab to my rectangle and then adhered it all to the cardbase.

Last i added the ribbon that i dyed myself, it was a bit darker when it was wet, so next time i'll probably dye it again. My dye job was really easy, i took the same maker i used to color the dogs collar and colored the inside of a snack baggie (both sides). Then i added a little bit of pearlized water with my mister. Add the seam binding, seal and then i just smashed and pushed the ribbon around letting it soak up the ink and water. Then i balled it into the corner to dry (open the bag).

Thanks for sticking with me today, it was a super long post!! LOL

Winter is Warmer Together

Hi!

Today i have a card for Week 2 for Summer Card Camp. The colors this week are cream, light blue, light green, dark green and dark brown. They also gave us 3 sketches to use.

I chose the sketch that had a few circles on the left side with the sentiment on the lower right. Instead of using circles or embellishments i stamped the snowflakes instead.

I stamped the snowflakes in various sizes and colors. Then i masked and stamped the sentiment in the lower right. Last i added rhinestones to 3 snowflakes and 1 beside the sentiment.

Last i inked the edges, but i did it very lightly. I also made sure that the edges of the card were inked, but just the edge, i only lightly drew the ink up on the cardfront.

It was a quick card to make, which was nice as we are having a heat wave this week in Michigan, its was 80 by 8am. (the high eventually got to 95) AND we have no air... a lot of older houses here don;t have air (unless you have the money to install it!) So i made this card early before it could get to hot!

Thanks for stopping by and stay cool!

Snow Beautiful

Hi!

Its challenge time over at Sweet Stamp Shop! I was pretty amazed to win last week my 1st try, so make sure you give it a try, you never know!! :)

Last week i found in my stash a big sheet of chipboard snowflake stickers. I used several on the tags last week, but i still had a lot left over and my first thought was to package up the remaining and put it back in drawer. BUT the point is to use up my stash, so i was going to use up every last snowflake, no matter how many cards i would have to make!

So with the remaining snowflakes i was able to make 2 cards. For the first card i used the same sentiment as the tags and stamped them across the card. Then i adhered some bakers twine to the top and bottom of my sentiment band.

Then i layered up two of the big snowflakes and added a pearl to the middle. I also added a couple small snowflakes around the card.

Now all i had left was 4 small snowflakes, so for this card, i die cut a scallop boarder and added glitter glue along the scallop edge. I also added a twine bow at the bottom.

I stamped the sentiment Snow Beautiful in black ink and adhered the snowflakes randomly around the card above my snow 'pile'

Thanks so much for stopping by and find some stuff in YOUR stash, make a card and link it up at Sweet Stamp Shop!

Thinking of You

Hi!

Today i have a card to share that i made for the Summer Card Camp 2, i was soo surprised when a couple of days ago i got an email from Simon Says Stamp saying i won a spot!! So yesterday i sat down and watched all the videos!! They had a color combo and sketch;s to follow ant this is what i came up with.

I used a flower stamp set from Avery Elle, i stamped off the big pink flower. I meant to do that with my other images, but i was distracted and when i came back i stamped the blue flowers full strength. I also stamped a smaller flower inside the blue flowers. I added flowers and orange dots to my background.

Then i stamped the big flower in blue and fussy cut it out. I added a strip of vellum across the card, along with a strip of cardstock on which i stamped the sentiment in grey ink. Adhered both to my cardbase and added the flower with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Priceless

Hello!

Today i have another card for Tuesday Morning Sketch's. There is 4 sketches to choose from and i already did one card, click here to see it. This time i did the top left sketch.

I used pattern paper and elements from Jillibean Soup, Chilled Cucumber Soup collection. I started with a green pattern paper and adhered it to my cardbase. Then i used a yellow photo frame and adhered it to the star pattern paper, trimming away the excess. I also added some green glitter glue to the star centers.

Next i used a couple more banner elements and a sticker that says friendships. After adhere the photo frame to my cardbase, i added the banners with foam tape.

Then i used another banner element, stamped the sentiment Priceless and added a vintage button at the left side.

I adhered the banner with foam tape and adhered two yellow butterflies above and below the priceless banner.

I hope you have a great day!!

For the Love of Bikes

Hello!

Today i have a card for another new to me challenge, CAS-ology, i've seen a few people participate and its been on my to do list! The challenge this week is Neon.

So first, i have a love/hate relationship with this card. Its a little bit out of my comfort zone, but on the other hand i kind of like it in a weird way!

First i stamped the bike image on a piece of canvas with adhesive on the back. I really like how the ink bleeds into the fabric. Next i stamped the sentiment with neon green and i really like how yellow ink bleeds into the canvas and separates from the green.

Then to make it a little less 'perfect,' when i placed it on my cardbase and purposely folded under a corner and made some creases. Then i added a few metal dots.

Then i thought it still need a little something, so i 'doodled' (and i'm no doodler!) on the canvas with a black pen and surprisingly liked it and on the other hand it's, at least to me, kind of weird looking.

Let me know what you think! Love it or hate it?? and be truthful, trust me i can take it!! LOL!! :)

Ooo La La

Hi!

Yesterday i was inspired by the card sketches i saw on Jessi's blog, she is on the design team for Tuesday Morning Sketches and she made a super cute card with one of 4 sketches. I really liked the the sketch she chose, so later in the day i got in the craft room and this is my take of the sketch.

I started first with die cutting a white circle, and i stamped and masked the images. Then i colored them with water colors and added a little red glitter glue to the heart in the Eiffel tower.

I decided to use a kraft cardbase and found some pattern paper. That's when i thought i should have used a cream or kraft circle that the white was a little stark! But since i already stamped and colored it, it was a little too late! lol so i added a little bit of distress ink to the edge and across the white parts, you can;t really see it in the pics, but its there! :)

The sketch has scallops, but i was lazy and didn;t want to get my scallop die out of the binder, so instead i went with white vintage buttons. Last i stamped the sentiment Ooo La La at the bottom right.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Extraordinary

Hi!

It's CAS-ual Friday Challenge time! This week the challenge is Material Girl, use any kind of material like fabric, felt, canvas etc. This card came to me as i was working on another card, i still had on my desk a couple left over fabric birds from another project and when i saw them, my brain started churning out ideas. After i completed the other card i whipped this one up.

CFC108

I picked a pink cardbase, (i usually go for white, then cover it!) I looped and tied some twine. Then i found on my desk these wood veneers that i just got and started playing with the placement of the bird, twine and embellishments.

When i got it the way i wanted it, i thought it still need a little something and that's when i stamped a flourish with watermark ink. Then i just adhered all my embellishments.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Sup?

Hi there!

Today i have a card for this weeks The Play Date Cafe. This card turned out to have a western like feel to it, i didn't plan it that way, but its ok!

The challenge this week is to use Ice Blue, Burgundy, Terra Cotta:

I started with some blue cardstock and embossed it with a star background embossing folder. I sanded the stars to allow the lighter blue of the cardstock come through.

Then i die cut some purple cardstock and adhered a wood veneer embellishment to it. I found some dark terra cotta color cardstock and trimmed it down to a strip and stamped my sentiment.

Last i wrapped twine around the star panel, adhered the orange strip and then the star. It came together nicely and even with the western feel, i still like it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Baby Its Cold Outside

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday! Today i have a set of tags to share with you! I found a new (to me) challenge over at the Sweet Stamp Shop, the Use What You Have Challenge! And boy do i have a lot!! LOL

I found a package of glitter snowflake chipboard stickers (say that 3 times fast! lol ) It was at the very bottom of this drawer:

This is one stash of embellishments, these tend to be stickers and chipboard. My paper scraps are in a tray that sits on top of this and that is so full its hard to shut the drawer, so i am determined to actually USE this stuff and then hopefully close the draw (and not buy new stuff to fill it back up!! lol)

So to make my tags, i actually found five 3 x 3 pieces of cardstock in my paper scrap tray! The cardstock is metallic white (i know the picture looks gray, but it is white). I rounded the corners and stamped the sentiment.

Then i adhered the chipboard snowflakes to each tag and with the bigger snowflakes i added pearls to the centers.

Last i added some bakers twine that matched the blue/green snowflakes nicely!

And since i really don't want to but anything back in my drawer, i also made 2 cards with the remaining snowflakes and i'll show those to you soon!

Thanks for stopping by!!
