World Card Making Day 2020

Hello & Happy World Card Making Day!!

I'll be in the craft room today.... and probably tomorrow!! Today I'm sharing a card I made a few months ago!

I started by die cutting a fancy panel from Pink Fresh Studio called Ornate Banner Die. Then I stamped a few images from Journals for Life Plant Lady Stamp set. I did some quick Copic coloring, then fussy cut them out. With foam tape I adhered them to the white banner.

For the back ground I used Pink Fresh Studio Color Block Stripes Die. I picked out a few different shades of green and filled in one of the frames with the different colors. The frame and stripes were adhered directly to a white card base.

The sentiment is a very old Thank You die I cut from black card stock. I also added some black twine to the top of the banner and then adhered that to my card base. Last I added the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy crafting!!

Make a Wish with Pinkfresh Studio

Hi there!!

This is my last card I made for World Cardmaking day and I think my favorite! I love how it turned out! I made it for Pinkfresh Studio's WCD Challenge #1! The challenge is to do your favorite technique! That is hard because I love all kinds of techniques, but to choose one I picked stamping and die cutting!

Dana Warren- Kraft Paper Stamps - Pinkfresh Studio

I pulled out the Make a Wish stamp and die set and stamped up a cake and some flowers. I used Papertrey Ink inks doing a fall color theme. I used Scarlet Jewel, Autumn Rose, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, Terracotta Tile and Summer Sunrise.  After stamping and die cutting everything, I assembled the stand, cake, flowers and candle.

Dana Warren- Kraft Paper Stamps - Pinkfresh Studio

Next, I used a stitched rectangle die to cut some Bristol card stock. I used the Summer Sunrise, Terracotta Tile and Dark Chocolate inks to ink up the background. Then I added it to a Kraft card base.

Dana Warren- Kraft Paper Stamps - Pinkfresh Studio

I added the cake to the card with foam tape. Below the cake I stamped the sentiments with the Dark Chocolate ink.

Thanks so much for sticking with me! Have a great day!

Be Merry with Pinkfresh Studio

Hello again!!

My next card I made yesterday for World Cardmaking Day was made for Pinkfresh Studio Challenge #2! The challenge is to make a Christmas card. I only have one Pinkfresh Christmas set so I paired it with a non-Christmas set!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Pinkfresh Studio

I started with Simply Succulents and stamped the pot and two cactus/succulents. Then on another piece  of card stock I stamped the flower and bird from December Days stamp set.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Pinkfresh Studio

Then I fussy cut the flowers and birds out and adhered them to the succulents. I stamped Be Merry in brown ink below the pot. Then I used a fancy rectangle die to cut it all out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Pinkfresh Studio

From my stash of extra's I pulled out a watercolor smooching background that actually matched the color of succulents. I wrapped some twine around the panel and tied it in a bow. Then I added the stamped image with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Hello and Happy World Cardmaking day!!

My mojo has been missing the past week or so, but I saw that were would be some WCD challenges today. So I gave it a try and was actually able to spend whole day making some cards!! Beware, I have a few to share today and tomorrow, so get ready for a lot of posts!!

My first card is for a Photoplay Paper challenge I saw on Instagram. The challenge is to make a card with your favorite products. I have a lot of there paper collections, and my current favorite is Fish Tales! In fact I ended up making two cards with this collection and stamps! I'll share the second card tomorrow probably, but my first card was made with one of the Fish Tales stamp sets.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Photoplay Paper

I started by stamping the hammerhead shark and using my Spectrum Noir markers to color it. Then I used my mom's Brother Scan and Cut to cut it out.

Then I pulled out a dark blue card base and a set of Art Philosophy metallic watercolors. I used the blue watercolor and did some waves across the the card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Photoplay Paper

While the card base dried I used a heart die to cut some red card stock. I stamped the I Love You More Than Shark Week in the center of the heart.

Then I added the heart and shark to the card with foam tape. I also added a few clear sequins, kind of like air bubbles coming from the shark. Last I rounded the corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll be back in a few with another card!! :)

Happy World Card Making Day 2017

Hello and Happy World Card Making Day!!

I'll be crafting later today, first I have a few errands to run! I had a little downtime this week and did some crafting for just fun and did some watercoloring stamping!! I've been doing a lot of coloring with my SN markers and I was in the mood to play with my SN Aqua markers!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I trimmed some Crafter's Companion's watercolor paper to fit a card base. Then I pulled out Sheena Douglass's Hummingbird stamp and a few Aqua Markers. I used Magenta, Sea Green, Aquamarine, Gold, Yellow, Scarlet, and Black.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

I used the markers to color the hummingbird, using all the colors but black. I spritzed the stamp a couple of times with water and then stamped. There is plenty of ink on the stamp, so I just moved the hummingbird around and stamped again.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

The watercolors blended together fabulously! I continued to do this until the panel was filled. With the fine tip end of the black marker, I added in the eyes! So nice to have that fine tip for the details!!

Next, I colored the sentiment with the black aqua marker and stamped it without water because I didn't want it to run too bad. It did just a touch and that's what I wanted! Water would have made it unreadable!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I added the stamped panel to a white card base and then added the sentiment strip with foam tape. Last I added a few black and grey sequins for a little sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

World Card Making Day 2016

Hello!

Today is World Card Making Day!! The best day of the year!!! LOL!! I made today's card many months ago, but figured today was a great day to share it!!

I am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts
I made the card with Hero Arts July My Monthly Kit and Add-Ons. While I love the different kits (and others by other companies) I don't have the money to get them monthly, but when I saw this I had to get it!! I have a weakness for ocean creatures, I'm not sure why as I really have no desire to live by the ocean or swim in it!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts

To start I die cut some blue card stock with a stitched rectangle die and laid Simon Says Stamp Waves Stencil over it. With some sandpaper (yes, I said sandpaper!!) I rubbed off some of the blue.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts

Next, I die cut a stitched oval from white cardstock. I used a few pigment inks to stamp the octopus and fishes. With black ink, I stamped the sentiment, Need a Hand?
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts
I added the oval to the blue panel with foam dots. Then I added the panel to a white card base. I decided to add a little bit of sparkle so I used a Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen on the waves I sanded and the fish.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy World Card Making Day!!

World Card Making Day 2014

Hello!!

Happy World Card Making Day!!! Luckily i found sometime last weekend to make a card for this wonderful holiday!! YAY!! I also hope to be able to spend some time in the craft room today!!

I am really in the mood to play along with challenges... the only trouble is finding the time for them all!! I'm entering this card into Newton's Nook Design WCMD Link Up! I made today's card for the Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge #31! Here is the photo inspiration:

I love the mix of yellow, pink and purple in the photo! So i pulled out Altenew's Ori Kami set and stamped the butterfly many times all over my white card base. I embossed them with white embossing powder.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew
Next i used yellow and lots of water to color my panel, then i went in and colored each butterfly pink or purple adding a some yellow to the outer wings. As i did it, i went back and added more yellow to the background i thought it helped the butterflies pop out a little more. When i went to take pictures, i realized it's a lot more yellow then i intended it to be! But i still like it!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew
I set the panel aside to dry and then pulled out a white card stock strip and stamped the happiness sentiment with brown ink. After eyeballing it over my panel, i decided to add a strip of dark brown card stock along the bottom of the white strip.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew
Last i added the strip across the panel with foam dots, then adhered the panel to a white card base. I thought about adding glitter or sequins or something, but after trying out some sequins i figured less is more!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your World Card Making Day is wonderful and full of card making!!

World Card Making Day Thank You Blog Hop

Hello!

Today i am participating in a special World Card Making Day Thank You Blog Hop. All the winners from Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking WCMD 2013 contest have gotten together to say Thank you!! Thank you to PC&S, fellow card makers, manufactures who donated product and well to everyone!! The card making community has such a great network of wonderful people and i just love how PC&S brings everyone together through their magazine and blog!

If you came from Asty Purbasari blog you are in the right place! You can start at the beginning if you want at Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking blog!

So we are all making and sharing a card in the category we won in and using some of the amazing crafty supplies we received in the prize package. My category was Thank You!

I started with Lil' Inker Designs Connected Circle die and a 4.25 x 5 inch white card stock panel. I cut several rows of the circles from the panel. As each row was cut i kept both the negatives and the circles all in order from top to bottom.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i used to die to cut circles from Fancy Pants What a Wonderful Day pattern paper. I cut apart at least 2 circles from the different patterns. Then i trimmed a sheet of Be Creative Double Sided Tape Sheet to fit my card base. I pulled off the top paper from the sheet and adhered the first negative, starting at the top. Then i randomly placed my cut apart circles, fitting them into the negative piece. After they were in place i added the next negative piece. I continued this until my panel was complete.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I pulled the backing off the double sided sheet and placed the circle panel on my card base. Then i trimmed a couple more circles adhering them with foam dots over their matching circles.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I added some buttons from the same Fancy Pants collection and last stamped the sentiment, Thanks from Lawn Fawn's Woodgrain Backdrops stamp set.

Your next stop in the hop is the wonderful and talented Erin Lee Schreiner!! If you want to start from the beginning or find a broken link, click here to go to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking blog!

Winter Wishes & Amazing Crafty News!!!

Hey there!!

Guess what!?!?! After a FULL week of keeping this news to myself i can finally shout it from the roof top, or , er the blog top...? LOL Anyway i am so excited to share that i won this years Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking World Card Making Day in the Thank You category!!! I haven't stopped smiling all week and i can't wait for you to see the card!! It will be published in the March 2014 issue!!

To celebrate i made a Christmas card to share today! Yay, another Christmas card for my stash!! To start i stamped the Penny Black igloo image on watercolor image and used my Distress markers to color it.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps
I knew i wanted to cut out the image on a curve, so i used a bowl to trace a line and cut out just the top part. (i was too lazy to die cut half the image!! hehe)  I left the bottom uncut and at first i was going to cover the bottom with pattern paper, but after looking at my Christmas pattern paper i found some old stuff and i got another idea.... a snow globe!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I pulled out some black cardstock and just trimmed it up to make the stand, then adhered it to my image. Next i found a tiny tag i already had cut, stamped the sentiment merry winter! and added it to the snow globe with red and white twine!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Oh and i almost forgot, i added glitter glue dots over my snow globe, i just love that little hint of sparkle!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you all have an awesome day!!

World Card Making Day 2013 - Using Sticker's on Your Card

Hello!

Happy World Card Making Day!!! I have a cute card to share featuring a easy way to use a sentiment border sticker. Using stickers on your card is super easy, but also easy to forget about! I am also submitting this card Moxie Fab World's Stickers and Tape Challenge!

I have a few stickers on hand (ok so a lot, but whose counting??!? LOL) I decided to use this sentiment banner sticker and i also wanted to use dog and cat image from Simon Says Stamp. (they are so darn cute!)

First i stamped the image on watercolor and colored the image with distress markers. Then i cut out the image, leaving a small border.

I added the sticker to a strip of red pattern paper and adhered this strip across the cardbase. Next i placed the colored image on my cardbase and was like ok, now what! :) they needed some 'ground' to sit on. SO i hand cut a wavy edge with my scissors from white cardstock and adhered this across my cardbase.

Then i added the colored image with foam tape. But i thought it really needed something more, that it so far just using the sticker on my card along i with my image wasn;t enough. So i found on my desk some tiny clear buttons, i scattered them on my card and really like it, thought they looked like snow! So i adhered them down!

I hope you like my easy card using stickers!! Hopefully this will inspire you to find and use some of those stickers on your next card! (i know you have them!!)

Thanks for stopping by!!

World Card Making Day 2012

Click here, if you are looking for my Hampton Art/Really Reasonable Ribbon Choose Hope Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!!

HAPPY World Card Making Day!!  YAY!!!

I have a one layer Christmas card to show you today!! I hope to get in the craft room later this afternoon when i get home for work. I have a birthday card and gift i have to get done, along with a zillion other things!!  lol

At first i was going to stamp the poinsettia's in pinks and reds, but then looking at all my inks, i realized i haven;t used any purple lately, after a little inking i found a combination that i liked.

To make the flowers, i started with Winter Wisteria. Then for the second layer i used Plum Pudding, but i stamped it off, then i did it again. Weird i know, but full strength was too dark and one stamp off was not enough. Last i used royal velvet.

I stamped the leaves and sentiment. Then i used watermark ink and stamped the flower centers then embossed them with sliver. Last i rounded the bottom left corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful World Card Making Day!

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink: Christmas Poinsettia

World Card Making Day 2011

Hello!!

It's finally here!! Its going to be a super fun day, that after a little History test and a stop at Walmart i will be card making my buns off!!! I've set this post to go live while i take the test, then its back home to check out blogs and more blogs before heading to the craft room!!

The card i have to share today, i actually made a few months ago for a coworker. Her mom was turning 50 AND going on an Alaskan cruise!! (FUN!!) So she wanted an Alaskan themed card for her mom... and boy it was a challenge! But in the end it turned out perfect as her mom loves bears!!

I layered some great tree pattern paper on brown card stock after sewing and inking the around the edge. I used the back of the same paper for a vertical strip across the card (the wood grain tree stumps).

Then i used my computer and printed out the sentiment 'Walk on the Wild side with Alaskan Treasuers' (it took me days to come up with the right sentiment !! :) ) I then split the sentiment in two and die cut each with a label die, placing the labels above and below the tree stump strip. Next i tied a brown sparkle ribbon in a bow below the pattern strip.

For the 3 animals i used a cricut cartridge for the moose and dear. But for the bear i googled a silhouette bear, printed him out then used the craft knife to cut him out. I added a gem to each animal and layered them on circles. Then adhered the circles over the pattern paper.

Happy World Making Card Day!!
