Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started with some watercolors, i use an inexpensive tray of watercolors that come in hard discs. So i added waters to the colors i wanted to use to start softening the color circles. Next i cut a panel of watercolor, then added the watercolor ROYGBV.

While the background was drying i stamped the Popsicle stamp three times on watercolor paper. I colored the Popsicles with the same watercolors colors i used for the background, then fussy cut them out.

Next i cut a strip of black card stock and white embossed one of the sentiments from the Slurp set. I added the strip to my panel with foam tape. Then i adhered the Popsicles to the strip.

Next i cut a stitched rectangle from white card stock. I stamped the Hey You sentiment from the new Lite Brite set. First i used the dark pink to ink up the bottom half of the sentiment and the lighter pink for the top half.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Along the bottom of the rectangle i stamped three flowers from the Twinkle Toes set. I used copic and distress markers to color them. Next i used Wink of Stella glitter pen to add some sparkle to the flowers and sentiment.

There's a 'Nap' for That

Hi there!!

Today i have a card on the Art Impressions Blog that is a card perfect for anyone who currently works or has worked in an office! I used Asleep on the Job for this card and over the years i have worked in several offices and there were plenty of days were i wanted to do just what this woman is doing!! Hehehe!! And i just love the sentiment!! Everyone can relate!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started my card by cutting a fancy rectangle from watercolor paper, then i stamped the image with black ink. I colored her up with distress markers and water. The colors i used were inspired by some bakers twine that i found on my desk and decided to use on my card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next i trimmed a kraft panel and added the stamped panel with foam tape. I wrapped the twine around the panel and tied it in a bow. From some scrap paper i cut some notched banners and used distress markers to color them. I didn;t not add water as i wanted the color to be bright and intense.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I added the banners to my panel, just under the twine bow. Then i stamped the sentiment to the right of the banners. Next i adhered the panel to a Kraft card base, this way the twine on the back of the panel is hidden between the panel and card.

Twinkle Twinkle

Hello!

I have a card on The Alley Way Stamps blog today! I knew the little starfish from Somethings Fishy would be great with one of the sentiments from the Out of This World set.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started with a white card base and used a few different ink sprays to spray and splatter a background. While the background was drying i stamped several of the little starfishes on watercolor paper. I colored them up with some distress markers and then cut them out.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i inked up the Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star sentiment with some yellow ink and then added some peach color ink around the edges. I stamped it on white card stock and cut it out, then trimmed the sentiment into to three pieces.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Last i added the stars and the sentiment to my card base with foam tape! Easy but such a great effect!!!

Best Fishes

Hi!!!

This is my second post today! If you are looking for my Art Impressions Challenge post, click here!

I also have a card on The Alley Way Stamps blog today, it features some of the new May stamps!! I am also entering this card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Stencil It Challenge!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started by die cutting a watercolor panel with Avery Elle's Dotted rectangle. Then i paced a wave stencil over it, holding it with some washi tape. I used two blue Inktense pencils and i outlined each wave, changing between the two blues.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Then with a paint brush and water i pulled the color form the lines to fill in each wave. While that dried, i cut a circle from watercolor paper and stamped the Best Wishes sentiment. Next stamped the sting ray image from Something's Fishy on another piece of watercolor paper. I used the black Inktense pencil to color in the sting ray, then i fussy cut him out.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
To assemble my card i adhered the wave panel to a dark blue card base. Then added the circle with foam tape, then the sting ray.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Art Impressions #160 Spinners

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge on the Art Impressions blog!! The challenge is Cards with Movement! Which is perfect for the new AI Spinner stamps!! The Design Team is featuring the new Spinner stamps so make sure you stop by the AI blog to check out all the great projects!!

My card features the Full Throttle Spinner! I started by using a die to cut a panel from some orange pattern paper. Then i placed an oval die on the pattern paper, holding it down with some washi tape. I placed die and panel over a white card base and sent it through my Big Shot. This way i can cut both ovals at the same time and i know that my panel lines up perfectly with my card base.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
Next i stamped the front and back of the spinner on some white cardstock and colored her up with Copic markers. I have some adhesive sheets that have adhesive on both sides and i cut two peices that would cover my images. I peeled one side of the backing off and adhered it to the back of card stock and images. Then i used the matching dies (oh yeah, the Spinners have dies that make it sooo easy!!) to cut out the front and back.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I peeled the adhesive backing off the back image and placed it adhesive side up (the back image is face down on my mat). Then i added some sewing thread to the image, held it taunt and pressed it on the adhesive. Next i took the backing off front piece and matching up the front with the back, the thread is sandwiched in between and of course the adhesive holds both sides together!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next i added a little adhesive above and below the oval on the white card base and then laid the open card base on my mat. I placed the scooter in the oval and pressed the top thread into the adhesive. Then i pulled the thread and scooter taunt and pressed the thread into the adhesive at the bottom.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
Then i adhered the orange panel over my card base, hiding the thread. Next i die cut a small notched banner and stamped the sentiment. I added the banner with foam tape to the bottom of the oval. I thought the card still needed something so i went through my little left over stuff and found some tiny orange, white and pink flowers. They went on the card to either side of the sentiment, as a final touch i used a black marker to add centers to the flowers.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
Oh i almost forgot, i added some kraft polka dot paper to the inside of the card, i though it helped show off the spinner!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will play along with us!!

Wine a Little

Hi!!

I have a card on the Art Impressions blog today featuring wine and Celeste!! Hehehe!! Okay not real wine!!  I paired Celeste with a sentiment from the Art Impressions Wine Diva clear stamps set, which can be found at Michael's.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by die cutting the big speech bubble from water color. Then i stamped Celeste and colored her with distress markers. AI stamps are so fun to color!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next found some stripy pattern paper, some of it with coral and gold, then added it to a white card base. Then i picked out a nice wine theme sentiment from Wine Diva and stamped i in the bottom right corner.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I added the speech bubble with foam tape, and for a little added interest i found some enamel dots that matched and added three to the card.

Hello

Hiya!!

Its time for a new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More!! It's a photo challenge! Lots of things to pick from! Here's the photo:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp
For my card i went with the colors and the branch and flowers. I decided to use Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring as it had a nice leaf branch and some small flowers. I found some light grey card stock and cut it with a stitched rectangle.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp
I stamped the branch several times with black pigment ink. Then i stamped one flower in white pigment ink and another flower in purple pigment ink. With a white opaque pen i added white centers to the white flowers and black centers with a black pen to the purple flowers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp

The stamp set has a three dot stamp i stamped the trio around each purple flower in grey ink. Next i stamped the Hello sentiment in the bottom left corner and then added a purple flower and the grey dots next to the Hello.

Flying by to Say Hi

Hello!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I was busy making a bunch of cards, my mojo is back!! Yay!! I'm trying to get ahead.... we will see how that goes!! LOL! Today's card is one that i made this weekend for The Alley Way Stamps, called a flashback card because i used some older TAWS stamps!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started by cutting the biggest balloon die from Simon Says Stamp from some white card stock. I scored a line along the top of one balloon, about an inch or so below edge. Next i adhered both balloons together above the score line.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i picked out a masculine pattern paper pad and stamped the cute air plane from Priceless Joy. I stamped it on two different patterns, cut them out and added the darker pattern to just the planes nose and blades.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I chose two other patterns, one for the balloon background and the other for some clouds. I first cut the clouds border, then adhered it to the background pattern, then cut both out from the big balloon. Next i adhered the cut balloon to my balloon card base. To make the card stand up i trimmed the end that you would tie some string to, and made it flat.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
For the sentiment i die cut a notched banner and stamped the Flying by to Say Hi. Oh i almost forgot, i inked the edges of the pattern paper and banner lightly with some distress ink. I added a couple enamel dots to both ends of the banner, then added it and the plane to the balloon card with foam tape.

Also The Alley Way Stamps is having a little sale!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Today i'm sharing a The Alley Way card featuring the All Washed Up set! I wanted to use the adorable manatee, he is sooo cute!!! :)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by die cutting the waves from some Papertrey Ink dies that are were intended for snow, but i think they make great waves!! I adhered one directly to the white card base and the smaller wave with foam tape.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i stamped the manatee on watercolor paper and colored him with a grey distress marker. I also stamped one of the little fishes three times and colored them with orange distress markers. Then i cut them all out and added them to my card with foam tape.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Let's Talk Soon!!

Hiya!!

Today i'm on the Art Impressions blog and here with a manly card for  you!! I wanted to do a masculine card, because i do a ton of cards geared more toward women and i wanted to do something different!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started with some pattern paper that i liked and i thought was masculine, that way when i color my image i can match the pattern paper. Next i stamped the guy relaxing in a lawn chair, its from the Ai clear stamps that can be found at Michael's. I stamped him on some watercolor paper, along with the cute little dog!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I colored them up with some distress markers and used water to spread the ink around. With a brown marker i painted in a ground. I used a sentiment from the Texting BFFs stamp set, because i wanted a card that could be sent to any guy in your life! I stamped the sentiment to the left of the guy.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

After the image was colored, i placed the panel on my paper trimmer and cut the panel at the top, but stopped just short of the dog. Then i moved the blade to the bottom and stopped just short of the chair. I did the same thing in between the guys foot and dog. Then i fussy cut around the dog and guy.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I adhered the fussy cut panel to my card base with foam tape. I thought it needed just a little something more, so i found some enamel dots that matched.
