Catherine Pooler - Grace in Bloom

Hello!

Today I'm stopping in with a card I made just for fun! I have lots of new crafty items for my birthday, some I received and others I splurged on myself!! I am slowly adding to my Catherine Pooler ink collection and with a few more pads I picked up a couple CP stamp sets!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler - Poppies Copic Coloring

The first stamp set I used is Grace in Bloom! I love the fun poppy flowers, perfect for coloring!! I first used PinkFresh Studio's Essentials: Ornate Banner die set to cut some white card stock.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler - Poppies Copic Coloring

Then I stamped the poppies from Grace in Bloom. I used my Copic markers to color it up. From the stamp set I used 'I can't thank you enough' sentiment and stamped it on the upper left corner of the banner.

Next, I wrapped some black twine around the top of the banner and tied it in a bow. I also added a few matching sequins. I adhered the banner to a red card base with foam tape.

Sticking By Me

Hello!!

I'm stopping by with my second card I made for World Cardmaking Day!! This one is for Concord & 9th! I recently picked up some of their stamps and have been itching to ink them up!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Concord & 9th

I pulled out Stuck on You and stamped one of the cactus, pot and sign on Kraft card stock. Then I used a few Copic markers that I have to color the images. Yes, you can color on Kraft card stock!! Then I fussy cut out each image.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Concord & 9th

Next, I used the brick like background stamp and stamped it multiple times on a Kraft card base in brown ink. I used some liquid adhesive to adhere the cactus to the pot and add the flower.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Concord & 9th

I used foam tape to add them to the card base. Last, I added the sign after stamping Thanks for Sticking By Me inside. Oh, and I rounded the corners! Can't forget that!! Haha!

Thanks for Being You

Hello!!

I'm popping in with a card I made for PinkFresh Studio November Challenge! I missed the past couple months, I've been soooo busy! It hasn't gotten much better, but I needed to take a little break from my DT designing and playing with some unused goodies is a great way to refresh my mojo!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - PinkFresh Studio - Succulents

The above is the graphic with the colors and theme! I went through my inks and picked out colors that were close. I started with the Simply Succulents stamp set, using my MISTI to do some watercolor stamping with the inks. The inks I used are listed at the end of this post.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - PinkFresh Studio - Succulents

I wanted to add a few details, so I went in with a fine black pen and added some lines using the stamp as a guide. Then I fussy cut out the succulent planter. From a matte gold card stock I used one of PinkFresh's Terrarium dies. I just adhered it on top of my succulents.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - PinkFresh Studio - Succulents

Next, I used the same inks to blend an inked background. I used Bristol card stock for the first time and wow!! it blended wonderfully!!! I added a few splatters of water and then black paint.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - PinkFresh Studio - Succulents

When that was dry I added a strip of black card stock along the bottom and then stamped the Thanks For Being You sentiment above that.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - PinkFresh Studio - Succulents

I tied some black twine at the top of the terrarium and after adhering the succulents with foam tape added a bit of glue at the top of the card for the twine, cutting off the extra when it was dry.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Watercolor Smooching

Hello!!

Today, I'm sharing my last 'summery' card!! Then its time to start thinking about fall, Halloween, Christmas, and babies!! I am really low on baby cards and need to make some!! I am also entering this into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Stamp It!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamp - Hero Arts Mermaid Kisses Watercolor Smooching

Anyway, I started with Hero Arts Mermaid Kisses, and stamped a mermaid and some fishes on white cardstock and colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I used BO1, BO2, BO3, BT1, CT2, EB1, FS2, FS9, GT1, GT2, GY1, GY2, GY3, IG2, PP1, PP4, PP6, TN3, VB1, VB2. Then I fussy cut out the images.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamp - Hero Arts Mermaid Kisses Watercolor Smooching

I had done some watercolor smooching for another project and I always use up all the ink so I will get a couple extra watercolor smooch panels. I used one for the card, it was quite a full panel, so I trimmed it a bit adding a wave at the top.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamp - Hero Arts Mermaid Kisses Watercolor Smooching

I white heat embossed the sentiment An Ocean Full of Thanks to the middle of the panel, then added it to a blue card base. I added the mermaid and fish with foam tape and lastly added a few sequins.

Crafter's Companion's AquaTint Pens

Hello!

This is my second post today, click here if you are looking for my Art Impressions post!

I'm stopping by with a card I made featuring Crafter's Companion products that were available earlier this month on HSN. I just checked HSN and it looks like the whole bundle of AquaTint pens are still available! Yay!! You can find more information about the pens themselves on Spectrum Noir's website!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I started by running some watercolor cardstock in the Brocade embossing folder through my die cutting machine. Then I added Amethyst, Pink Garnet, Aquamarine AquaTint ink to a piece of acetate. If you don't use all the ink, let it dry and you can reactivate it with water down the road!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

With a wet paintbrush, I added water to the embossed panel, then added each of the colors to the panel. I wanted the color to be intense, but you could, of course, add water to the ink to light the color. I added water here and there as needed to help the ink spread and mix with each other. When I was happy with the panel I set it aside to dry.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Next, I stamped the Thank You So Much and heat embossed it in white on a strip of black cardstock. The sentiment came from the Joyful Phrases stamp set.

When my panel was dry, I trimmed it up so it would be 1/4 inches smaller than an A2 card base. I added it to the black card base with liquid adhesive and then added the sentiment strip with foam tape. Last I added a few black enamel dots.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Most of these products were available on HSN, you can keep checking HSN.com to see if they come back in stock or keep your eye on Crafter's Companion's website as sometimes they get stock and add it to their store!

Crafter's Companion on HSN Today!

Hello!!

Today is the day! Crafter's Companion is on HSN TODAY!!! I tried to get a video of my card today but ran out of time, maybe I will be able to share it in a couple days! To see all the new products check out this catalog.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
My card features the Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners, In Full Bloom Collection, specifically the Precious Poppy stamp set and matching die. You can tune in today at 5pm EST to see all these stamps in this collection.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

These stamps are great if you like big cards, or big square cards and of course love flowers! But if you also like A2 size or if you are like me and only really like A2 or smaller cards, you can still use these stamps!! There are lots of great ways to use these stamps, my card is just one idea!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

I started by stamping two of each image. Then I used the matching die to cut them out. With my Spectrum Noir Markers, I colored each image: AG1, AG3, DG3, AP1, AP2, AP3,  DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, PP1, PP3, PP4, PV4, TN5, TN6.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Next, I cut out some Crafter's Companion Shimmering cardstock Forest Green. This is the base for the images. I just played around with the placement of the flower until I was happy with it. Then I added foam tape one flower at a time so I cut just use foam tape where needed and liquid glue when the other flowers overlapped. From the smaller flowers, I trimmed off one of the leaves from each small flower.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
In the center I added a brown circle, first stamping and white heat embossed the sentiment. Then I nestled it under some of the leaves and flower edges. I used foam adhesive to adhere it and then I added the two small leaves I cut off earlier. When everything adhered I just used scissors to trim off the flowers and leaves that hang over the edge. Last I added the panel to a white card base!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Crafter's Companion Graphic Markers

Hello!

I'm stopping by with a quick card today. If you are looking for my Art Impressions post, click here. Yesterday Crafter's Companion released Spectrum Noir Graphic Markers! You can click on the link to be taken to the markers or see more info at Spectrum Noir's site.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Spectrum Noir
These are NOT new colors! So if you have the original or Illustrator markers you do not necessarily have to get these markers too (unless you just want to! haha). The Graphic markers have the classic nib and broad chisel nubs and 25% more ink. They are geared toward the student/design artists who might use them a lot for their artwork.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Spectrum Noir

My card today features these markers and the new SN Premium Marker Pad. I challenged myself to use only the sets that received, Industrial, Tints, and Basics. The actual Graphic Markers I used on this card are AG3, BT2, CR11, CG1, PP1, RB2, RB4.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Spectrum Noir

To start I die cut a panel from the Marker pad with a stitched rectangle. Then I used the circle and butterfly from Spectrum Noir Colorista Aqua Best Wishes stamp set. I did second generation stamping so they stamped lighter then the black ink I used. Then I used the big flower set from Spectrum Noir Colorista Aqua My Sunshine stamp set. Then I used the above Graphic Markers to color the image.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Spectrum Noir

Next, I stamped the Thank You sentiment from Best Wishes and added metallic silver sequins. Last I mounted the panel on some grey cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by! I if you are new to Spectrum Noir or an artist or know someone who is, I would suggest taking a look at these markers!!

3rd Annual STAMPlorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop

Hello!

This is my second post today, if you are looking for my Art Impressions post, click here.

If you arrived here from the wonderfully talented Cornelia Wenokor you are in the right place!!

Welcome to STAMPlorations 3rd Annual Giving Thanks, Blog Hop! I'm so happing to be a guest designer representing the Coffee Loving Card Makers!! (check back tomorrow for some more STAMPlorations & Coffee goodness!!)

Even though any time is okay to be grateful and/or thankful, it's just that kind of season with it being fall and Thanksgiving around the corner! Even with life's hardships, there are always things to be thankful, even the small things! I am so thankful for all my crafty friends, family and most especially my mom! I am currently in a Bachelor program and it is happening in a big part to my mom!!

Okay, on to my card!! I started with STAMPlorations Tag O'Coffee die set and cut some masking paper with the coffee dies. From watercolor cardstock I used a stitched rectangle die to cut a panel.

Next, I placed my mask with the coffee dies taken out, the negative I think. I started with the coffee one in the center, using Distress Ink Frayed Burlap, Tea Dye and a tiny bit of Walnut Stain. I did the same thing with the coffee cup with the straw, one on each side of the cup.

I used Frayed Burlap to ink all around the edge of the panel, leaving the center mostly white. With Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate ink I stamped one of the sentiments from STAMPlorations Words of Gratitude over the center coffee. It says Let Our Lives Be Full of Both Thanks & Giving.

Then I added a bit of water to some Walnut Stain and added some splatters all over the panel. While that dried I thought about added some enamel dots or sequins, but after trying them out I really preferred the card without them!

Thank you so much for hopping along! Your next stop is the wonderful Amy Almeida!! If you get lost or find a broken link or find more info on some the fabulous giveaway, check out the start of the hop at STAMPlorations!

Word Dies & Masked Background

Hello!!

I'm sharing a card I made this weekend for Neat & Tangled Challenge - Masking. I have a few new stamps that I won and I finally got around to creating with them and today's card features one of those sets: N&T's Calathea.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Neat & Tangled
The challenge is masking so I decided to do some masking with a sentiment die that I've had forever but only used the first time for this card! I cut the Thank You die many times from Simon Says Stamp Masking paper and then added them to a panel of watercolor cardstock.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Neat & Tangled

I created the background in two main steps, after adding the masking thank yous I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabio Ink spray's: Tears on My Pillow Tangerine.  While that was drying I stamped 4 leafs from the Calathea set. Then I fussy cut out each of the leafs for later.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Neat & Tangled
For the second background step I stamped the leafs many times over the masked thank you's I used many different inks for the multi stamped leafs. I inked each row several times, using my MISTI to make sure they stamped in the same place.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Neat & Tangled

I removed the thank you masks and wrapped some black twine around the panel. Then I added 3 of the 4 leafs directly to the card, the 4th was added with foam tape. Over the weekend I played around with some Nuvo Crystal Drops, they were dry when I was making this card so I added a few of the best one's I made. To finish off the card I just added the panel to a card base.

Thanks for stopping by!!
