Funky Fossil Designs - Masculine Birthday

 Hello!!

I'm popping in with a card I made for fun! Using a new stamp and stencil I picked up from Funky Fossil Designs! And of course I picked up more then just one stamp set and stencil!! Hehe!!

I wanted to make an easy masculine birthday, so I pulled out the Blockade stencil and used it on a white card base. To ink up the stencil I used Catherine Poolers ink, blue, aqua and orange.

Next, I used the navy blue to ink up the game controller and ear phones from the Gamer stamp set and then fussy cut them both out. I added them to the card with foam tape!

Last, I stamped the sentiment Level Up It's Your Birthday above the controller with black ink. Since its a masculine card, no enamel dots or sequins!! LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Catherine Pooler - Fly Daddy

Hello!!

I'm stopping by with a card I made for fun! Playing with some birthday goodies I received last month! First the background die is from Hero Arts and pairs great with Catherine Poolers Fly Daddy stamp set!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler
I can always use more masculine stamp sets, so when I saw this at Catherine Poolers online store, I knew it would make some great cards!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler
To start I pulled out some water color card stock and trimmed it to fit an A2 card. Then I used a couple different blue Distress Inks and my Taylored Expressions ink applicator, blending the colors together. Then I used clean water to add some splatters. Some I let sit before dabbing away the excess water, others I dabbed right away! This varies the lightness of my splatters!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler
While the background was drying I stamped the fishing pole and the fish. I used two CP ink colors on the fish, first the lightest color then added the darker color along then edge, then stamped!! I fussy cut both out. I also stamped the You're a Reel Catch on white card stock and then fussy cut it out.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler
Next, I used the Hero Arts Fish Background to die cut the background. I saved the fishes to use later, figured they would make some nice confetti in a shaker card! Then I adhered the background to a white card base.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Catherine Pooler
Last, I added the fishing pole, fish and sentiment to the card with foam tape. I decided not to add anything else, since it is a card for a guy and they wouldn't really appreciate anything that sparkles!! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Doodlebug Designs - Far Out

Hello!!

I'm popping in today with a card I made a bit of go featuring Doodlebug Designs - Far Out Stamp set. When I made this card found here, I stamped every image in the stamp set. Not all fit on the first card, so I made a second rather then push them to the side (and probably never use, lol!!).

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Doodlebug Designs Stamps Space

I created a space background, inking several distress inks together, then going over it with black distress ink. Then I added splatters of white and black ink.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Doodlebug Designs Stamps Space

When the background was dry I used a stitched rectangle to cut out my panel. I added it to a black card base. Then I stamped the Far Out Your Space-cial! sentiment.

Last, I added the remaining colored images, moving them around until I was happy with the placement. I adhered them with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

DoodleBug Designs - Stellar Birthday

Hello!!

Today I have a card I made for a Doodlebug Designs sketch challenge. The challenge was for National Scrapbooking day this past weekend. When I saw they had a card specific collection, I new I had to play along with my Doodlebug stamps!! Here is the sketch:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Doodlebug Designs - Galaxy Watercolor Background

I started by making a galaxy background. The make the background I used my Altenew watercolors. First, I taped a watercolor panel down, added water to it and then started to randomly add a few colors, pink, yellow and a blue. Then I added a bunch of black and water as necessary. As it dried I added a little more black here and there, until I was happy with the look.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Doodlebug Designs - Galaxy Watercolor Background

While the background dried I pulled out Doodlebug's Far Out stamp set and stamped all the images. I decided to do them all as I wasn't sure which one I wanted to actually use on my card. Next, I used my Copic markers to color them up. Then I fuss cut out each one.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Doodlebug Designs - Galaxy Watercolor Background

When my background was dry I did add black, white and silver splatters. I used a heat gun to make sure they were dry. Then I cut strips of cardstock, including a couple black strips. I stamped and white heat embossed the Have a Stellar Birthday on one of the black stripes.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Doodlebug Designs - Galaxy Watercolor Background

I adhered the strips together and trimmed it to fit my galaxy background. The background went on a blue card base and then adhered the strips.

Next, I played an images and then added them with liquid adhesive and foam tape. I did add a little clear sparkle to the stars and spaceship lights.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll be back later in the week with a card I made with the images I didn't use today!!

Card Making with a Paper Bag

Hello!!

So, today is Paper Bag Day!! They have a day for anything and everything!! I thought I would use a paper bag in my crafting to help celebrate!! Haha!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
Since a paper bag is made out of a thick Kraft card stock I decided it would be perfect to use with an embossing folder!!! I used Crafter's Companion Ocean Waves embossing folder. I used a little bit of brown Spectrum Noir Inkpad to darken a few areas here and there. This made seeing the embossing a little bit better. I also roughed up the edges a little.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Next, I stamped the lighthouse from Crafter's Companion Nautical Elements. I stamped it on CC's Kraft Card stock, which is a very close match to the grocery paper bag I used with the embossing folder. I got it from a major grocery chain.

I pulled out a random Spectrum Noir Brown marker to add a little shading to the image. Then I added a few details/highlights with opaque white pen. I also stamped two of the sea gulls, then fussy cut them and the lighthouse.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

From CC's Pastel Textured Card stock pad I used a blue shade adding it to the bottom of the embossed panel. Then I stamped the Happy Birthday on the textured card stock. Last I added the lighthouse and sea gulls before adding the panel to a blue card base!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Just the Guys

Hello!!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with a masculine card featuring the Old Guys Club! It's great paired with a masculine paper collection. It's also a great way to make easy cards, since the embellishments or stickers all match.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions - Spectrum Noir

Started by stamping the old guys and coloring them with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I used AG1, AG3, AG5, BG1, BG4, BG6, BO2, BO3, BO4, HB2, HB3, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, MB1, MB3, MB4. For the dark skin, I used Copic E25, E44, E57, E59.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions - Spectrum Noir

Next, pulled out Echo Park Paper Co That's My Boy paper collection pack. I added the orange pattern to a card base, then trimmed down my colored image and added it to the card. The collection pack has a sheet of stickers and I picked out a sentiment sticker that I added above the image and a couple stars and banner stickers adding them with foam tape. With stickers, I always add baby powder to the back so they are not sticky anymore. I do this because I always lay the items down to see how I like the placement and I always move stuff around, so this way I can do that before committing!

Art Impressions Challenge #238 Card & Envelope

Hello!!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge #238 - Card & Envelope! AI also has 2 stamp sets now available at Hobby Lobby, Reel Great Guys, and Sring Chicken. The challenge is easy, make a card and matching envelope!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

My card features the Reel Great Guys stamp set. I made this with a guy in mind so I kept it simple!! I stamped part of the fishing guy and the dog in the intertube on some watercolor cardstock. Then I stamped the Birthday Fishes sign to the end of the fishing pole. On the envelope, I stamped the bucket of fish and the single fish.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I used my Distress Markers to color everything! And yes I even used them to color the envelope, it needed a lot less water since it isn't watercolor paper! I trimmed my panel and added it to a blue card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Since this is a masculine card, I kept the card and envelope basic with no added embellishments!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Swagger

Hello!!

I'm on Art Impressions blog today!! If you know someone who has broken a leg, the Swagger Set is the perfect stamp set for a get well card!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the image and coloring him with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used: AG1, AG2, AG4, EB6, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, TB6, TB7. He is fairly easy to color, then I just fussy cut him out!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

From My Mind's Eye Hooray! paper pad I picked out a polka dot pattern and added it to a white card base. Then I used a square die to cut two different sized squares from two different patterns.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and used small square die to cut it out. I added the two pattern squares to the card with double-sided tape. Last I added the sentiment and image with foam tape.

Art Impressions - Challenge 230

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impression Challenge 230 - Good Goes Around! Easy peasy, just create an uplifting card with 'circles' somehow incorporated on or in your card!! AI also has a great new release of Circlet Mini Tryfolds! Basically Tryfolds in circle form! You can make a circle card or a regular rectangle card, your choice!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

My card today features the Cabin Circlet set and I made a circle tryfold card!! I folded some cardstock just like I would for a regular tryfold card. Then I went further and die cut the card with my largest circle die, the folded card needed to be just inside the die on the two folded sides. You can adjust the folding of your card based on the size of your circle die.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I stamped each of the circle landscapes on watercolor cardstock and used my Spectrum Noir AquaBlend pencils to color it. But instead of water I used a basic colorless blender, it acts like water without the water! I used the follow pencils on the images Parakeet, Pineapple, Black Umber, Anthracite, Regal Blue, Fossil Grey, Ginger, Ebony, Cypress, Apricot, Umber, Midnight Blue, Oregano.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then I used smaller circles to die cut out each image, I did a little planning as for front image I wanted a frame for it. I used the biggest circle to cut out the pattern paper and then started adhering the paper and using the dies that come with the set to cut in the 'window' areas for the first two layers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Once I had everything cut and adhered I just trimmed the bottom of the circle card to make sure it would stand up okay.

Let's Par-Tee

Hello!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! I don't know about you but I'm dreaming of warmer weather!! If you or a friend are golf fans, warm weather can't come fast enough!! The Par-Tee Golfers stamp set is right up your alley!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the golfer guy in the golf cart, then used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it. I used AB1, AB2, AB3, AG1, AG3, BG1, BG4, BG6, EB5, EB6, FS2, FS4, FS9. With a square die cut, I cut out the image along with a smaller square of white cardstock.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

On the smaller square, I stamped the Par-Tee sentiment. I picked out some pattern paper from Echo Park Paper, Holly Jolly Christmas. I added a green zigzag pattern to a white card base. From a star pattern, I cut another square that was just a little bit smaller than the stamped square.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I added the pattern square and then the stamped square with foam tape. Then the sentiment square and last I added a few matching enamel dots.

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! If you need or like making funny cards the Old Goat set is just what you need!! Today's card has a bit of masculine feel and it's all because of the pattern paper I picked out!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started with Crate Paper Cool Kid pattern paper pad and picked out a pattern for the background, along with another matching pattern that I die cut out with a notepad die cut. I did the same with some white cardstock.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then I stamped the four goats in a row and then colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used EB6, EB7, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, IG5, MB1, MB2, RB1, RB2, RB3. Then I fussy cut them out with sharp scissors.

I adhered the background pattern paper on a white card base. Then I stamped You've Goat This on the white notepad. I added it and the pattern notepad to the card with foam tape. With more foam tape I added the goats! Can you tell I like my foam tape??? :)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I thought the card still needed something so I went through my button collection and picked out a few that matched. I adhered them to the card and wa-la it was done!!

Art Impressions Challenge 202 - Playful People

Hello!!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge 202 - Playful People! AI has also released 4 new clear stamps and they are AMAZING!! Stop by the AI blog to see all 4 stamp sets!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
My card today features the Reel Great Guys stamp set! I started by stamping the guys in the boat on a stitched rectangle. Then I stamped the fish hook sign and added the sentiment inside the sign. I also stamped the fish in the stamp set below the other fishing pole.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color everything. I started with the fish first, color it green. Then I went in with some blues for the water, going over the already colored fish. I was hoping it would look like the fish was under the water and I wanted to make sure it would work before coloring everything else. Well, I think it worked so on to the other color I went! I used: DR1, DG3, CG4, CG5, EB1, EB2, EB5, EB6, FS4, FS6, FS9, GB8, GB9, GT2, GT3, IG1, IG4, IG6, JT3, TN8, TN9. Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers: AB1, AB3.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I found some pattern paper that matched and added it to a white card base. Since this is a guy card I didn't want a lot of 'extra' stuff so to keep it simple and still masculine I added a few matching enamel dots to the panel. Last I just adhered the panel to the card.
