Pinterest Inspired May Challenge

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge at Pinterest Inspired Challenge! The inspiration this month is great and I based my background on the inspiration!! First here is the photo inspiration:

I really like each water color square, instead of square's I went with solid stripes. I used several different Distress Markers to color three different solids strip stamps. Color, spritz with water, then stamp! I really love how it turned out!!

Next I used PTI's Half and Half die and cut it from watercolor card stock. I stamped one of the cute cats from My Favorite Things Catitude stamp set, then I stamped one of the sentiments above the cat. I used Distress Markers to color the cat.

I wrapped some twine at the top of the die cut, then added it to my background with foam tape. Last I added a few sequins!

I really liked the white outline of the flowers with the pretty colors inside each shape. I decided to give something a try, and i think it worked out great!! My background is white embossed, not with a stamp but from a stencil!! I placed a stencil over a panel of white card stock and then pressed my versamark ink pad into the open areas of the stencil. To get a good layer of the ink i really pressed and repressed the versamark through the open areas. Then i removed the stencil and added the white embossing powder and heated it.

Next i picked out some distress markers that were close to the photo colors (not quite the same) and then squiggled them on a clear block and with water added them to my embossed image. Since i didn;t use watercolor paper, the colors didn;t blend well, and that's what i was going for, bright color with minimal blending.

I set that aside to dry and then stamped the flower image on some white water color card stock. Then i used the same colors to color the image, adding in a green for the stems. Next i fussy cut it out and set it aside too.

Then i cut a strip black card stock and stamped the sentiment that came with the flowers. I heat embossed the sentiment then added it across my panel with foam tape. Next i added the flowers and last added a few black pearls.

I placed a feather stencil over a white card base, holding it in place with some washi tape. Then i used Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist ink to fill in the feathers. Next i placed another stencil on top, this time a Chevron pattern stencil.

With PTI's Ocean tide i added ink to just some of the Chevrons, using washi tape to mask off areas i didn't want inked. Then i used Waffle Flower's Spring Ink set, the Pretty Peony color to ink other Chevron areas.

Next i needed a sentiment so i pulled out Lil' Inkers Darling Diamonds stamp set and stamped the Thanks in black ink. Then i added a few enamel dots and last rounded the top two corners.

Chin Up Buttercup

Hello!!

It's time for a new challenge at Pinterest Inspired Challenge!! It's a great challenge this month, lots ways to get inspiration!!

Here's the photo:

I really liked the geometric pattern and the watercolroing of the each triangle. My goal was to do something similar! First i found a stencil with a pattern and then cut a stitched rectangle from watercolor paper.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamp - Darcies Heart & Home
I picked out three distress ink colors that i used for the card, Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, Peacock Feathers. I placed the stencil over the water color panel, then i added water over the stencil, which i think allowed the color to seep under the stencil a little more! Next time i'm not going to add the water and see if the pattern is a little less blurry!

After applying the ink with some water i set the panel aside to dry. I noticed that the stencil had some water and ink still on it so i pressed the stencil on some extra watercolor paper. It looked like i had flicked ink all over, i liked how it looked so i stamped the from Darcie's Heart & Home Buttercup Bee stamp set. In the center of the frame i stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.

The flowers i used on the card came from the same stamp set. I used the same ink colors to color the flowers, then i fussy cut them out. Next i added the watercolor panel to a black card base and a black strip over that. With foam tape i added the frame and flowers, then last a few black enamel dots!

Pinterest Inspired November Challenge

Hello!!

It's time for a new challenge at Pinterest Inspired Challenge!! Here is the inspiration:

Now when you see my card you might wonder how was it inspired by the above picture? Well, let me tell you! I really like how the flower petals were different colors and especially where they overlapped with other petals. So i went through my whole stamp collection and do you think i had a nice big open outline petal flower??!?!! That would be a no!!! In fact i really didn;t have anything big enough with open spaces, so instead i went with the small starfish from Lawn Fawn! It;s a little hard to see the overlap, i did a lot of experiments to make sure i like it, and overlap at the stars tips looked the best!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn
Anyway, on how i made the card! I started with vellum and stamped the starfish over the vellum panel. When i started i thought i would fill the whole panel, but as i went along i decided i didn;t need to fill the panel! Then i added some white embossing powder and heat embossed it. I also stamped and heat embossed the I'm So Jelly sentiment.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn
Then i flipped it over and used my Spectrum Noir markers to color in the starfish. I used these colors: BP2, JG2, CT4, OR2, DR3, BT5, PL4, True Black. So i wouldn;t have any glue spots, i ran my colored vellum panel through my sticker maker and then adhered the panel to a white card base.

Next i trimmed some black card stock and stamped and heat embossed the You're a Star sentiment, then added it across the card with foam tape. Last i stamped and heat embossed the little Jelly Fish on some vellum. Turned him over and colored him with the PL4 marker and fuss cut him out and added him to my card.

Pinterest Inspired Challenge #3

Hello!!

This is my second post today, click here if you are looking for my Art Impression Challenge post!

It's time for a new Pinterest Inspired Challenge!! If you played along last challenge, make sure you see if you won! Either way i hope you play along with the new challenge! Here is the inspiration:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle from water color paper. then i placed a Penny Black stencil over the panel. I used the Slate Spectrum Aqua Marker and scribbled it on a clear block, then added some water to it. With a paint brush i colored the stencil, i found that less water is better!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I laid down a wash of light color, then went in with the actual marker and spread that out a little with a damp brush. When it was semi dry i added a little bit more marker, and just barely spread the ink out.

While the panel was drying i stamped the snowflake and sentiment banner, one with grey pigment ink and the other with distress ink. Then i fussy cut them out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

Before i added the flags i mixed up some more Slate and water and flicked the ink over the panel. When that was dry i placed the flags over the panel and used a paper peicer to punch some holes. I used a need and some twine to stitch in a hanger for the banners.  Last i added a few glitter gems to the banners and added the panel to a black card base.

I love the triangles, pattern and the water colored look of this pattern. The Alley Way Stamps has a great triangle stamp set called Tri-Me. With distress markers i colored a couple different sizes of triangles, then spritz them with water before stamping. I tried to match the colors as best as i could.

After i finished my stamping i cut it with a stitched rectangle and adhered it to a black card base. Next i used an Amazing die from Taylored Expressions. I cut it several times from white card stock and once from white, then glued all the layers together. Last i found some purple stickers to spell out UR.

For my i was inspired by the colors and the flower pattern. I placed a stencil over some white card stock and with an ink applicator added some distress inks that matched the photo. I started with the yellow in the middle and then worked my way out to an aqua and then blue.

Next i stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamps Sending and Wishing stamp set in black ink. I trimmed the panel down a little, then matted it on some gray glitter card stock. Last i added it to a black card base.
