For You Deer Friend

Hello!!

Its been a little quite around here i know! I've had a couple real full days and have 2 tests next week so i will be hitting the books a little harder the rest of the week (but don't worry i will get in the craft room too!!) :) Today i have a card to share with you that i made for The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. This is the photo inspiration:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started with The Alley Way Stamps Spotted stamp set. The set has a dotted chevron stamp and i thought it would be great since the photo has a chevron thing going on. I used black and red pigment ink to stamp my background. I stared with one color in the middle of a white background, cleaned the stamped and then was able to stamp twice with the new color above and below my first color. This speeds the process up so you don;t have to go back and forth between each color.

Next i stamped the super cute deer from The Alley Way Stamps new Stumped set. I colored him with some distress markers and cut him out.

Then i went through my extra's bin and found a pre-cut red circle and pink heart. They both went great with my red and black background. I added both to my card base with foam dots and then added the deer. Last i added a few black and red sequins to the card.

Winter Hello

Hi there!!

I hope everyone is staying warm! Negative wind chill and snow are never fun!! Looking forward to next weeks highs in the twenty's!!! Today i have a card i made for Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge and Lawnscaping Challenge #97. Both are doing a winter theme challenge, at first i wasn;t going to play along but falling asleep the other night i came up with the idea for this card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I started by by die cutting a stitched rectangle from dark blue and white card stock. I cut the bottom off by cutting a wave or two. Then adhered it to the dark blue rectangle. Next i splattered some white spray ink over the blue rectangle and set it aside to dry.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

Next i made a branch by pulling out a scrap piece of white card stock and cut the bottom slightly wavy. Then i adhered it to a scrap piece of brown card stock and cut the bottom brown edge similarly. I added the branch to my rectangle piece with foam dots.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I stamped the owl from You're a Hoot in white pigment ink on dark blue card stock. Cut him out and added him to the rectangle with foam dots. Next i stamped the small Hello from the A Birdie Told Me stamp set in the bottom right corner of the rectangle panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I was going to add the panel to a white card base but i thought my card base needed something so i pulled out Simon Says Stamps Falling Snow stencil and added a scattering of snow with light grey ink (though i know that it is so light that you can't really see them!). Last i added the rectangle panel with foam dots.

Thanks for stopping by!!

I Heart You

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a Happy Holiday!! I made a card for the Curtain Call Challenge a few days ago and am entering this at the last minute! The challenge is called Candy Cane. I was thinking of the red and white stripes of candy cane in the photo when i made my card (also thinking of Valentine's Day!) I am also entering this in Shopping Our Stash Red Alert Challenge since it turned out i used a bunch of red on my card!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I started by making my background first. I placed a stencil on a white card base and i used Distress paints for the first time. I learned that the paints don't work very well with stencils, the paint runs under the stencil. Even though i didn;t get the smaller stripes i still got stripes so i am happy with the background.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I set the card base aside to dry, then die cut a heart from white card stock. I stamped the cute Mimi image, then i inked up just a few hearts on the outer edges to fill in the rest of the heart. Then i colored her and the hearts with Copic markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

Next i stamped and embossed the I Heart You sentiment in the bottom right. I thought the card was too red, so i trimmed the card base and added a strip of green on one side. Last i added the heart with foam dots.

I hope you have a wonderful day!! Happy Holidays!!!

Hand-Stitched Gift

Hello,

I'm stopping by to share a card i made for The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. When i saw that the photo inspiration had pin cushions in it, i knew exactly what stamp set i was going to use!! The Alley Way Stamps In Stitches set has a pin cushion, i pulled out a little snowflake paper to make a card to go along with a handmade stitch gift.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started by stamping the pin cushion on a blue/grey snowflake pattern paper then cutting it out. I also stamped it on a tan snowflake patter paper, just cutting the cushion top out which i adhered to the blue/grey cushion.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I cut a stitched oval and then stamped the 'A Hand-Stitched Gift' sentiment. I added the pin cushion with foam tape, then set the oval aside. Next i added a strip of the blue/grey pattern paper along the right side, then added the tan snowflake paper to the rest of the card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I used a few snowflakes from the Winter's Butterflies set and stamped around where the edge of the oval would be. Next i added the oval with foam dots and for a final touch added a few matching enamel dots.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Oh, i almost forgot, i used the Gabfest set to spell out and stamp For You on the inside of the card. I also added a couple snowflakes!!

We Grew by Four Feet

Hi there!!

Today i'm sharing a card that i made for the current challenge at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. The challenge is a Anything Goes and its their 1st anniversary!! Here is the photo inspiration:

There was a lot of white with little pops of pink and blue, which made me think of babies! So i found some light, almost pastel pink and blue pattern paper. I stamped the little onesie from The Alley Way Stamps Nap Time on the pattern paper. I also stamped a tiny heart in each onesie. I cut them out, colored the hearts with a white gel pen and then set them aside.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i die cut several stars from adhesive card stock. I exposed the sticky side and added some glitter. I pressed the glitter into the adhesive, but you still get some that would come off on your fingers, so i added a thin layer of glossy accent to keep everything in place. I let the stars dry over night.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

When the stars were dry i placed then all over my white card base. Because the photo has both pink and blue i wanted my card to have these colors too. So i decided to have twins! The stamp set has the sentiment We Grew by Two Feet, well with twins you have another set of feet, so i with a grey pen i crossed out Two and wrote in Four.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card base with the stars above it. I added the two oneise with foam dots (plus a little glue to make sure they stayed on the star).

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Wings to Fly

Hi there!!

I'm popping in quick again for a card i made for The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. This challenge is called Something Simple, i kept the simple part along with the white on white in mind when i made the card.

I stared by stamping a butterfly from The Alley Way Stamps Fly By set all over my white card base. I used a soft grey ink, then i added just a little shading to the butterflies with a grey Copic marker.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i die cut a tag die and stamped the sentiment from Fly By, in the same grey ink. I found some silver and white washi tape that i folded over and added it to my tag with a silver eyelet. I also stamped an extra butterfly, cut it out and added it to the tag with foam dots.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Last i added the tag to my butterfly card base with foam dots. Nice and simple and a whole lota white!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hey You

Hey there!!

Today i have a card i made for The Curtain Call Challenge - Pretty and Pink. I used the just release Tri-Me stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps!!! I was inspired by the pink and gold in the inspiration photo!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I started by inking up a few of the solid triangles from the Tri-Me set in various pink inks. I inked up one tiny triangle in a very light pink, however you almost can't see it! It did look that light when i was making the card!! :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I also added a few outline triangles, inking those up in black ink. I also added the sentiment Hey You to the middle of the card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Since i don't have much gold things running around, i pulled out 3 wood veneer triangles. After i knew where to i wanted them to go, i coated the front of them with a versamark pen and added gold embossing powder. I used tweezers to hold them while i heated the powder (DON'T use your fingers!!) It did take another coat of embossing powder, i think because the versamark soaked into the wood. I also had to heat the powder again after i moved my tweezers to another spot, this took care of the ridges left by the tweezers after melting the 2nd round of powder.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

The embossing powder i used has big granules, so only two coats was needed. If you use a fine powder you might need a 3rd coat depending on out it turns out and how much coverage you like!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Make Me Smile

Hello!

Today i'm sharing a shaker card, only the second one i've ever made. The first one, well it didn't turn out so well! So the other day i thought i would try a different kind and this one worked a lot better!! I made this card for The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Confetti Crush. The sequins in my shaker shape is the confetti!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps
I started by die cutting two labels from vellum paper, then i pierced holes all around the edge. I used some gold metallic thread to stitch the two vellum shapes together. Before i closed it, i added some sequins that matched my pattern paper and a couple tiny bird wood veneers.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i inked up two birdies from The Alley Way Stamps Birds of a Feather stamp set and fussy cut them out by hand. Next i die cut a double ended banner and stamped the sentiment You Make Me Smile from the TAWS set Speak Easy (have you noticed i use this set a lot?!?! It has the perfect sentiments!!)

I used some pretty flower pattern paper and before adding it to my card base i inked the edges lightly. Then i added the birds and banner to my shaker, and then added it to my card base.

I really love how it turned out and will have to try this kind of shaker card again!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sweet Babee

Hey there!!

I have a sweet babee card to share today!! Yep, you see that right babee - not baby, but babee!!! We are all about the bee's this month at The Alley Way Stamps!! You will want to check these sets out! There are so many possibilities!!

I made this card for The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge! I went with baby part of the challenge (not the colors or booties) and a girl baby or should i say a girl babee!! LOL!

I am also cleaned off my craft desk and put all my stray do-dads and extra embellishments and such all in a plastic dish. I am bound and determined to use up all these extra do-dads!! So i found a pink label, and two red hearts to use on my card.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I started with red card stock and stamped the new (and amazing) star background, Star of the Show in watermark ink. Then i added some white perfect pearls for some shimmer! I stamped the sentiment Sweet Babee on the label and added it to my card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i stamped (with some masking) the bee, then colored her in. I also stamped the little bee diaper on another label, cut that out and adhered it to the baby bee. I also added some glitter glue to the winds, but you can't really see it in my photos.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Last i added the hearts and the baby bee to the card base and added some red enamel dots!

So glad you stopped by! Tomorrow The Alley Way Stamps is having a special Video Blog Hop! Make sure you stop by to learn some techniques!! (and a little bee (hehe) told me there is a giveaway!!)
