Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs - Father's Day

I started by resizing the different foods to fit on the grill, then I added the tongs. After printing the images I used my Copic markers to color them up. Then I fussy cut out the grill and tongs.

I also printed out the Happy Father's Day sentiment, trimmed it to a strip. From my stash of pattern papers I pulled out a red pattern and a black pattern. I used a stitched rectangle to cut both patterns.

For the black pattern panel I ran it through the die cutting machine with the die, but at about half the size. I added the black to the red panel and then added the sentiment with foam tape.

Then I added the grill and tongs to panel with foam tape. Last I added the panel to a grey card base!

Art Impressions Bug Buster

Hello!

I can't believe it's June already!! Of course with June comes Father's day and I start thinking about all the manly cards I should make!! Today I'm on the Art Impressions blog with a fairly easy but interesting card to share. Sometimes after coloring your image you just want to make a card without getting bogged down with some technique heavy!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I started with the Bug Buster stamp set, this is a perfect set to have on hand, could easily be a father's day card or a birthday card!! I stamped the image on white cardstock and then used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it up! I used EB6, FS4, FS6, FS9, IG2, IG4, IG6, IG10, TB3, TB4, TB8, TB9, True Black. Then I used sharp scissors and fussy cut him out.

From a strip of white cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in black ink. Then I made a white card base. From my paper stash, I found a white wood grain and added it to the card. From the same stack, I found some blue polka dot pattern that matched. To make it interesting I added the sheet with one corner pointing down at about the middle of the card. Super duper easy, but adds a little interest being at an angle and having two patterns!

I added the sentiment strip across the card with foam tape and then added the image on top, also with foam tape. Since this is a more manly card I left off any embellishments!!

#BestDadEver

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today sharing an easy Father's Day card for you! Yes, Father's Day is right around the corner (where has the year gone?!?!) so to help you start thinking about cards for dad's i decided share one with you!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
First i stamped the guy from The Lawn Ranger set in brown ink on watercolor paper. I colored him up with distress markers and water, then fussy cut him out. Then i set him aside while i made my background.

I started with a wide strip of white card stock and i used a watercolor technique i learned from Kristina Werner. This is the second or third time tried this background technique and a little practice has helped. I also found that i do better on thick white card stock, rather then watercolor paper. Mainly because the white card stock soaks up the ink and with watercolor paper you have to let it dry (or hit it with an embossing gun to speed dry it!) and well, i tend to play with it to much when its on watercolor paper!

But anyway its super easy to do!! I picked out my distress inks (ink that reacts with water work best!) and i smooshed them on a big clear block. I added spritz of water, lots of water!! Then to pick up the ink  i used a small (probably about 4 x 4 or so) piece of acetate, just press it on the block. The ink pools on the acetate! Then press the acetate on your paper. I repeated it several times until i was happy with the look! Since i rarely use all the ink on one background i pulled out other card stock pieces and did a couple more until all my ink was used, now i have a few extra pieces ready to go in the future!!

All that was left to do was to stamp my sentiment on a piece of Kraft card stock and assemble my card! I added the watercolor panel to a green card base with foam tape. Hand cut a piece of Kraft card stock to make a ground and adhered it to the bottom of my card. Then adhered the lawn mower guy and my sentiment along with an extra Kraft banner.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Happy Dad's Day!

Hi!!

So Father's Day is coming up and i have the gift (yep, for once i'm ahead of the game!!) and to make sure it gets out in the mail in time i whipped up a quick card! Now i have a couple Father's Day stamps, but that would mean digging through my collection!! (hey what can i say, i;m kind of lazy, and my head is full of confusion sin, cosine, tangent and other pointless precalculus stuff and i just don't want to dig around!!) But my TAWS stamps are right next to me hanging on a shelf, so to keep it quick i used a sentiment set and a alpha set to quickly stamp my sentiment!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

So to start i used the spotted squares from the TAWS set Spotted. I stamped them all the way up and down my card base in brown ink. Next i found a strip of white card stock, that i placed it over my card base at an angle..... i liked so i went with it!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I stamped the robot from Bot Time, in brown ink. I used a brown inktense colored pencil to just draw a line around a few particular parts of the bot, then spread the pencil a little with a Copic colorless blender (FYI: will stain your nib).

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i stamped the Happy from Jibber Jabber, then spelled out Dad's with Gabfest and stamped that in red ink. Then stamped day in brown ink. I added my panel to my card base with foam dots and last added 3 red enamel dots (to go with my red Dad!)

And wa-la!! A quick and easy card that looks pretty darn cool, if i don;t say so myself!! :D LOL

I hope you stop by The Alley Way Stamps today and check out the inspirations from a few of the TAWS Design Team ladies!!!

Have a good one!!

Make It Monday #69

Hi there!

I've been making some Father's Day lately and saw that this weeks Make It Monday involved sketch's, i liked a couple of them and though that they would make great Father Day cards.

I used this sketch for my inspiration:
Sketch-6

This card is quick and easy! I stamped the ties along the bottom in different inks. Then i added a thin strip of orange cardstock.

And last stamped the sentiment Happy Father's Day and Dad in brown ink. Easy, huh!?!  Another Father's Day card in my stash!

Oh and if you haven't already take a peek at PaperCrafts Gallery Idol 2012 and i'd love your vote!!

Thanks!!

Father's Day Cards

Hello!!
Today i have 2 cards to share with you today. Fathers day is next week so i started my Dad's father day card early this week, knowing i would need to get it done soon to mail it on Monday. After i finished it this weekend i also did a quick card for my Grandpa.

First is a card for my dad, who has a motorcycle and goes to a lot of motorcycle meets and such. Several years ago i got a motorcycle stamp to use when i make fathers day and birthday cards for my dad. Its a challenge is to come up with different cards using this one stamp each year!

This time i used some paper with a wood pattern. I stamped the motorcycle in black ink, then added black glitter to select areas of the motorcycle. The bike was just floating out in space so i used a grey marker to add a ground for the bike. I pierced wholes along the edge and tied a black ribbon in a knot at the top.

For the bottom of the card, i used the reverse side of the pattern paper which is a crossword puzzle. I search threw out the page to find squares to fit Happy Father's Day in a readable order and would fit the card. After finding the best fit i trimmed it to fit the bottom of my card. Then i used a black sparkle marker to wright Happy Father's Day in the crossword puzzle.

For my Grandpa's card i used some cute pattern paper with cute little trucks and cars. I new this would go great with PTI's Truckin It set. And my Grandpa is a truck man! I die cut the truck from navy paper and added a white opaque pen to the windows and headlight. For the tail light i used a red sparkle marker. For the sentiment i stamped Happy Fathers Day from PTI's Father Knows Best on some white cardstock.

For the pattern paper i drew a wave in pencil then cut it out and trimmed it to fit on the front. I adhered it with pop up dots after using the white pen to add faux stitching and adhering the sentiment. With a square spellbinder's die i cut a piece of the green card stock and adhered the truck with pop up dots.

Even though it's on the cutsie side for a Grandpa, i didn;t think it was over the top cute!! And its a relatively flat so it will mail nicely!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
