Journals for Life - Boo Crew

 Hello!

Today I stopping by with some Halloween cards! I have a few to share and I hope I can share them all before Halloween!! First, up are two cards I made with Journals for Life Boo Crew bundle. Check the bundle out, its on sale!! Lots of goodies in this kit, its going to last me a few years!!

My first card features some of the Ephemera, a cat, heart, potion bottle, and a boo speech bubble. The kit has pattern papers, for a journal, so they are not quite as wide as a card. But, that is okay, it works just fine with a border at the top and bottom!

I used the stamp set from the kit to black heat emboss one of the Halloween sentiments. After adhering the pattern paper to the kraft card base, I played around the ephemera. When I was happy with the placement I added them to the card with foam tape.

For my second card, I started by going threw my extra backgrounds. I found one that had dots and I used some kind of thick black paste. I trimmed it down so it would show the card base.

From the kit I picked out a super cute ghost sticker, along with some colorful stars. I added baby powder to the back of the stickers, that way I can play around with the placement with out them sticking to anything.

I trimmed a strip of black card stock and added it to the dotted panel. Then I wrapped black twine around the panel and tied it in a bow. From the kit I used the alphabet stickers and spelled out Boo.

When I was happy with the placement of ghost and stars I added them to the card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I started by opening one of the dragonfly images in a Word document. Then I resized it really big. Next, I added a sentiment, resizing it to fit. After printing the image, I used my Spectrum Noir Colorblend Pencils to color it up!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs - Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils

Next, I fussy cut a little above and below the image. From a Pink Paislee pattern paper pack I pulled out a pattern that I though matched my coloring. Then I used an embossing folder with the pattern paper.

After running the folder through my die cutting machine I used some Catherine Pooler Mint To Be ink to add a little color to the embossed panel.

Divinity Designs has some awesome coffee themed crafty projects!! You can find all of them here! I have two cards, each featuring the But First Coffee stamp set!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Divinity Designs

To start my first card I used my Mom's Brother Scan and Cut to cut out a coffee mug. I placed it on a white card panel and used a little bit of washi tape to hold it in place. Then I placed a stencil on top and used pink, orange and yellow Distress Inks to ink up the panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Divinity Designs

Next, I stamped and heat embossed the Coffee Everything Possible with black embossing powder. That gives it a nice shine and raised look. Last I free handed an outline for the the coffee mug, I though it need a little more defining then the stencil gave.

For my second card I stamped All You Need is Coffee sentiment all over a white panel and white heat embossed it. Then I used a purple, green and blue Distress Oxide inks to ink up the panel. With a barely damp baby wipe I cleaned up the embossed sentiments of ink.  I also used a little water and made some splatters all over the panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Divinity Designs

Next, I used a circle die to cut a few different sized circles from vellum, with some double sided adhesive on the back.  On one of the circles I stamped and gold embossing the sentiment again.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Divinity Designs

I arranged the vellum circles and when I liked them I peeled of the adhesive backing and adhered them to the card over the stamping and inking. From my stash I found some glitter dots that matched the ink colors I used!

Card Making with a Paper Bag

Hello!!

So, today is Paper Bag Day!! They have a day for anything and everything!! I thought I would use a paper bag in my crafting to help celebrate!! Haha!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
Since a paper bag is made out of a thick Kraft card stock I decided it would be perfect to use with an embossing folder!!! I used Crafter's Companion Ocean Waves embossing folder. I used a little bit of brown Spectrum Noir Inkpad to darken a few areas here and there. This made seeing the embossing a little bit better. I also roughed up the edges a little.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Next, I stamped the lighthouse from Crafter's Companion Nautical Elements. I stamped it on CC's Kraft Card stock, which is a very close match to the grocery paper bag I used with the embossing folder. I got it from a major grocery chain.

I pulled out a random Spectrum Noir Brown marker to add a little shading to the image. Then I added a few details/highlights with opaque white pen. I also stamped two of the sea gulls, then fussy cut them and the lighthouse.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

From CC's Pastel Textured Card stock pad I used a blue shade adding it to the bottom of the embossed panel. Then I stamped the Happy Birthday on the textured card stock. Last I added the lighthouse and sea gulls before adding the panel to a blue card base!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

You Are Mermazing

Hello!!

I'm stopping by with a card I made for fun! The past couple months have been busy with DT stuff and school assignments! In between I've been playing with some goodies I got with a gift card and for my birthday! This week I'm taking a break, I'm not making a single card!! Just going to do some coloring for some future DT cards, but that's it just some therapeutic coloring!! All gearing up for another semester (I'm almost done, I'll have my degree by May!! yay!!)
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Picket Fence Studios - Distress Ink Markers Coloring

My card features the Picket Fence Studio's Little Coral Girl stamp set!! I love this mermaid set!! I stamped the images on watercolor cardstock and then used my Distress Ink Markers to color everything. Then I fussy cut it all out.

For my background I used Hero Arts Wave & Sea Confetti die, cutting it out from blue cardstock. Then I used a watermark pen and added clear glitter embossing powder to some of the wave lines. You can see the sparkle when the card is moved back and forth!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Picket Fence Studios - Distress Ink Markers Coloring

I added the die cut panel to a dark blue card base. From the same dark blue, I white heat embossed the You Are Mermazing sentiment. I cut down the panel to a strip and added it to the card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Picket Fence Studios - Distress Ink Markers Coloring

Then I arranged the mermaid, coral, and fish on the card and when happy adhered them down. I'm always tempted to added enamel dots or sequins, but this time I resisted since I had a little sparkle on the background!

Crafter's Companion on HSN - Wednesday August 15th

Hello!!

I'm stopping by with a card I made with some new products coming to HSN this coming Wednesday! Crafter's Companion has a TON of great new products available that day!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion - Embossing Folder

My card today features Christmas Sentimental 2, which are new word dies! I also used a snowflake embossing folder, a Sara Davies Signature Collection: Winter Wonderland - Snow Crystal. With CC's watercolor cardstock I ran the folder through my Gemini.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion - Embossing Folder

Then I used the new Spectrum Noir Inkpads to color the embossed panel, Lagoon, Parakeet, Oasis. I used the lightest color in the middle and darker at the end. Then I splattered some water over the panel. I let it sit for a while before blighting it away.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion - Embossing Folder

Next, I used the darkest color to ink up a scrap paper, then I used the Let It Snow outline die. From black cardstock, I cut the actual word die and added it to the outline.

I added the sentiment and black gems to the embossed panel, then I added the panel to a black card base.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Crafter's Companion's AquaTint Pens

Hello!

This is my second post today, click here if you are looking for my Art Impressions post!

I'm stopping by with a card I made featuring Crafter's Companion products that were available earlier this month on HSN. I just checked HSN and it looks like the whole bundle of AquaTint pens are still available! Yay!! You can find more information about the pens themselves on Spectrum Noir's website!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I started by running some watercolor cardstock in the Brocade embossing folder through my die cutting machine. Then I added Amethyst, Pink Garnet, Aquamarine AquaTint ink to a piece of acetate. If you don't use all the ink, let it dry and you can reactivate it with water down the road!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

With a wet paintbrush, I added water to the embossed panel, then added each of the colors to the panel. I wanted the color to be intense, but you could, of course, add water to the ink to light the color. I added water here and there as needed to help the ink spread and mix with each other. When I was happy with the panel I set it aside to dry.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Next, I stamped the Thank You So Much and heat embossed it in white on a strip of black cardstock. The sentiment came from the Joyful Phrases stamp set.

When my panel was dry, I trimmed it up so it would be 1/4 inches smaller than an A2 card base. I added it to the black card base with liquid adhesive and then added the sentiment strip with foam tape. Last I added a few black enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Most of these products were available on HSN, you can keep checking HSN.com to see if they come back in stock or keep your eye on Crafter's Companion's website as sometimes they get stock and add it to their store!

Hello!

Crafter's Companion is on HSN this coming Wednesday, May 2nd! Tons of great new products, you can check out the Show Guide to see them all!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I started my card by adding a little Aqua Tint pen Moonstone to a piece acetate and added some water. Then I smooshed the panel into the ink and with a heat gun dried the panel. I did this one more time, then splattered some of the ink on a panel with a paintbrush.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

I used some matte silver cardstock in an embossing folder, running it through my die cutting machine. Next, I trimmed the panel down and added it to my watercolor panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

With grey ink, I stamped the new Dragonfly stamp and then used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers to color it. I used BO2, CG2, CG3, CT4, LG3, LG5, LY1, LY3. Then I fussy cut it out. I added it and a couple clear sequins on the card.

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2017

Hello!!

It's time for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!! Yay!!! Link your winter coffee/tea/hot coco themed project for your chance to win some great goodies!! There is a great list of sponsors and over course tons of coffee inspiration!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I started my card off with the background using an embossing folder to get a letterpress like look! Know, I have to admit that I went this way because I'm lazy! It's finals week next week so everything I've been doing has been with time in mind!!! It's also the look that you get when you use the magnetic platform with my Big Shot. I just didn't want to get out my extra long regular platform or my Gemini for that really strong emobossing!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

But anyway, I really like how it turned out regardless! I used Crafter's Companions Contemparay Fold embossing folder and ink up one side with Hero Arts Red Royal ink. I love the faux letterpress look that resulted!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
Orginially I was going to stamp the cup red, and do an all red card, but decided it would pop better in green. So I stamped the coffee cup from Echo Park Paper's But First Coffee stamp set with Papertrey Ink Ripe Avocado. I used my MISTI so I could ink it multiple times since I was using CC's watercolor cards stock and its textured. I used it for the background and wanted all the white to match.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

For the sentiment I used Avery Elle's Noel stamp set and stamped the Noel in the same red mentioned above. I also stamped a cluster of berries in the set. Then I trimmed the sentiment and notched each end and fussy cut out the berries.  I wrapped some red & white bakers twine around the cup and added the berries under the bow. Last I added the cup and sentiment to the card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you will play along with us! Can't wait to see all the winter coffee projects!!
