Graciellie Designs - Live for Today

 Hello!

I'm popping in today to share a card I made with Graciellie Designs new digital stamp set, Live for Today! A beautiful winter bird with great sentiments!!

I started by opening the bird in Word. I resized it and added the Live for Today sentiment. Then I printed it out and used my Copic markers to color it up. Instead of really blending the coloring, I did a more stippling like technique to dot the color and blend it. Then I fussy cut most of the image out, using my paper trimmer to cut the sentiment.

For the background I decided to pick out a dark red card base and use my Wow Embossing Fab Foil. I started with Funky Fossil Designs Snow Flurry stencil and watermark ink. I only inked up the top half of the card base.

Then I added Wow Embossing Bonding Powder to the watermark ink and heated it. With Wow Fab Foil, I added the white foil, shiny side up onto the melted powder.

Next, I heated up my regular cloths iron and placed my card base face down, opened the card and ironed the back of the front card base. Trim off any access foil as you don't what it to melt to your iron. I did this a few times, letting the card stock cool in between. The hardest part is the edges and the top, I think I get it all but there's usually a few spots I miss!! lol!!

After the card has cooled I pulled the foil and and wa-la I have my foiled white snowflakes! I always keep what I pulled up, down the road I'll use it on a card!!

Last I added the bird and sentiment to the card with foam tape!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Bluebird - Halloween

 Hello!!

I'm stopping by with another Halloween card!! I used a couple Hello Bluebird Halloween stamp sets, Frightful Little Bits & Spooky Script.

I stamped a whole bunch of the these images, colored them with my Copics and fussy cut them out several weeks ago. Last week I finally made at least one card with some of the images!

I started by die cutting different sized circles and then used Distress Oxides to ink up the circles. Then I pulled out some Halloween pattern paper and cut some circles from it.

Then I started playing with placement of the circles and images. When I was happy with it I added the circles with foam tape. Then I adhered the images. Last I decided to stamp the Boo and Eek sentiments!

Thanks for stopping by!

Graciellie Designs - Start Anew Magnolias

 Hello!!

I'm stopping with a second card I made with Graciellie Designs new Start Anew Magnolias digital stamp set. The set has two floral clusters and like always amazing sentiments!!

I started by pasting one of the floral clusters in Word and resizing it. I added a sentiment and printed both out. Then I used my Copic markers to color the image.

From my stash I found some silver glitter card stock. I adhered it to the front of a white card base.

Next, I cut my image into three equal parts. I used some washi tape and adhered my cardbase to my glass mat, using the lines to keep the card straight. Then I went about added the three image stripes with foam tape, using the lines on my mat to keep each section equal and have equal spaces between them. I trimmed off the over hang.

Last, I trimmed the sentiment down and adhered it to the front of my card. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Graciellie Designs - Simply Blessed

 Hello!!

I'm popping in today with a card featuring Graciellie Designs newest digital stamp set, Simply Blessed! This gorgeous set is perfect for fall or really even time if you are so inclined!!

I started my card by first opening the image in a Word document and resizing. I added the sentiment and printed it out. Then I pulled out Copics and colored the image.

With a rectangle die I cut the image out, with the jar in the bottom left corner. With sharp scissors I fussy cut around the image and sentiment on the right side.

For the background I used Wow Embossing Bonding Powder with a Hero Arts stencil and versamark ink. I used my heating gun to melt the powder. Then I placed the Wow foil, colored side on top over the melted powder.

To have the foil stick to the melted powder I used an iron on the wrong side of the paper. This was the first time I've done this and it worked pretty well. I did miss, I think with the iron, the top part of the card, but over all you get a nice distress look as its not 100% perfect. Great way to use foil with out the a heating plate system.

I added the colored image with foam tape. I keep the left over sheet from my project to use on a future project.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

My Favorite Things Stamps - Innovation Master

 Hello!

This is my last card for My Favorite Things Stamps 2020 Card Design Superstar. It's for the Innovation Master category. Be warned it has a lot of pictures!!!

I wasn't planning on entering one for this, but Friday night after work I was trying to fall asleep, my mind was wondering and I started thinking about what I could do. Eventually I though about making an magnetic card with images that can me moved around and then can make their way to a fridge or other magnetic board.

So I made a trip to Michael's yesterday and found some magnetic sheets and gave it try! I used MFT Jingle All The Way and stamped all the main images and then stamped the presents, reindeer and Christmas tree three times.

The above card is the card I'm entering in the contest. But at the end I had so many images, that I made another card and I still had a few left over. So I figure I'll include a little bag with the extra's, that way a kid can play with a bunch of images. Oh, and as you can see the magnet images stay in place even when the card is standing.

The magnet sheets came rolled up, so while I was coloring and die cutting the images I put the sheets under my glass craft mat so they would flatten a little!

After a lot of coloring I trimmed a magnet sheet, so it was about 1/2 inch smaller then my card bases. I used foam tape to adhere the magnet panels to the card bases.

For the images I used the image dies to cut the magnet sheets, then adhered each image to the matching magnetic cut. Next, I stamped two sentiments and then adhered them to the magnet sheet and trimmed them up.

The next photo's I moved the images around, so they are different from the images above!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!!

My Favorite Things Stamps - Coloring Virtuoso

 Hello!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the My Favorite Things Stamps - 2020 Card Design Superstar, Color Virtuoso. Instead of the usual coloring with alcohol and blending, I used stippling as my coloring. It's also called pointillism. I've been wanting to do something like this for awhile but when I saw the design contest, I thought it was time! I did pointillism way back in my high school art classes!

I pulled out all my MFT stamps and dies and was feeling Christmas-y, as all three cards for the contest are Christmas! For this card I went with Jingle All The Way.  I stamped one of the santas, little girl and presents.

For my stippling I used some fine point colored markers. When stippling, you randomly add the dots. The more dots go where its darker. I also mixed a couple of the colors together. Two browns for the ground and two skin colors.

I added light blue dots for a sky and stamped Jingle All The Way above the images. Then I trimmed it down so it was about 1/4 smaller then my blue card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back later tonight with my second card and then share my third card tomorrow!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs - Ice Cream

I used a rectangle die to cut the image and sentiment, then I fussy cut around the left side of the ice cream. From my stash I found a panel of gold glitter paper and I adhered it to a white card base.

Doodlebug Designs - Far Out

Hello!!

I'm popping in today with a card I made a bit of go featuring Doodlebug Designs - Far Out Stamp set. When I made this card found here, I stamped every image in the stamp set. Not all fit on the first card, so I made a second rather then push them to the side (and probably never use, lol!!).

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Doodlebug Designs Stamps Space

I created a space background, inking several distress inks together, then going over it with black distress ink. Then I added splatters of white and black ink.

When the background was dry I used a stitched rectangle to cut out my panel. I added it to a black card base. Then I stamped the Far Out Your Space-cial! sentiment.

Journals for Life - Plant Lady

Hello and Happy Sunday!!

I'm stopping in with a card featuring a new stamp sets from Journals for Life! I picked these up not too long ago and was determined to use them! I have a bad habit of buying but not inking up the stamps!! I'm a sucker for plant themed stamps and have a few, some of which haven't seen ink yet! But I was determined not to let that happen and actually made two cards with these stamps!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Journals for Life - Plant Lady

There are two Plant Lady stamp sets, a 4x6 and 3x4. I used both on today's card. First, I stamped the plant and watering can images and used my Copic markers to color them up. Then I fussy cut each out.

Next, I cut a panel of white card stock with a stitched rectangle. With an orange ink from Catherine Pooler, I stamped a background with all the sentiments from the two sets.

Papercrafters Unite Against Racism

Hello!!

I'm participating in a Papercrafters Unite Against Racism Blog Hop. Justine Hovey organized the hop and you can start at her blog or if you are from Jill Cameron Creations you are at the next stop! There are also crafter's hopping along on Instagram and on You Tube! You can get all the info on Justine's blog!

Like the majority of the US and the world, I am so upset, mad, disappointed, sick and so much more with the racial disparities in America, the police that continue to kill Black Americans. I really don't have the right words to express how I feel. In the past I have stayed quite, maybe a comment here or there. However, this is not enough, I've made donations, continued to speak out where in the past I would stay quiet. It's not a lot but I believe every little bit helps and I'm hopeful that we are working to make Black Lives Matter! A few places I like to check in to educate myself and ways to help! ACLU, Innocence Project, The Good Trade (places to donate and ways to be active)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Mama Elephant

My card features Mama Elephant's Three Amigo stamp set. I cut a stitched rectangle from white card stock and then stamped the three amigos, do a tiny bit of masking with one tale. I colored the images with my Copic markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Mama Elephant

For the signs I printed the three words from Word, leaving room between each so I could stamp the paper around each. Then I fussy cut out each little paper. Since they were printed on copy paper, they were flimsy. So I adhered them to card stock, then added them to my card with foam tape.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Mama Elephant

Next, I used my Copics to add a ground and a very light blue for the sky. Then I adhered the panel to a black card base. I kept things simple as not to distance from the Black Lives Matter message!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Your next stop in the hop is Mansi Bhatia!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Graciellie Designs - Father's Day

For the black pattern panel I ran it through the die cutting machine with the die, but at about half the size. I added the black to the red panel and then added the sentiment with foam tape.
