Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started with a dark purple card stock. I choose some dye ink that was close to that color, and i stamped the biggest flower image in the set. Then i used smaller flower to stamps over the first flowers, but this time i used a white pigment ink. I stamped, with the dye ink, a center in these flowers but later i added some grey rhinestones that covered it up.

Next i stamped a different flower in a purple that is a shade lighter then my first flower, then second generation stamped a center with white pigment ink. Then picking out one last flower i second generation stamped it a few times over my card base. This helped balance the white and purple stamping!

I added grey rhinestones and white sequins. And last i stamped the sentiment that is included in this set! Be sure to stop by tomorrow for another card using this set!! I just couldn't put it down!!!

The Alley Way Stamps - Sneak Peek #3

Hi there!!

Today i have The Alley Way Stamps Sneak Peek for you!! Tomorrow is the day for the new release!!! You are not going to want to miss it!! Today i have a sneak peek for Mrs. Rogers Neighborhood!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

This is a wonderful scene building set, but for my card i took a little different take on it. I stamped the houses over my white card base, making my own pattern paper. Next i found cool vintage red button from my stash.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I matched some red card stock to it, then i die cut the banner. I stamped my sentiment, then adding it to my card base with foam dots. I glued on the red button at one end of the banner.

Last i colored in one of the houses doors, red. I thought the read really popped against the black and white pattern!!

Make sure you stop by The Alley Way Stamps blog for your chance to win this set!! And come back tomorrow for the hop and your chance to win all 3 new sets!!

Be Inspired Challenge #54 - Take 1

Hi!

Its time for a new challenge over at The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge! This months challenge is a little tough for me! All i see is shabby chic, and i am so not a shabby chic kind of person!! Here's the photo inspiration:

I finally just wrote down the colors in the photo and made those colors my jumping off point. To start i stamped tiny flower from Big Chatter, i used a light pink dye ink. Then i used 3 little dots from Fly By and stamped those in a light green. Then i used a green ink spray to splatter all over my background.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i stamped the cute butterfly from Fly By and colored her up with the same dye inks i used for the background. I also used brown for the body and spots. Then i added 2 strips of kraft card stock across my card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I cut out my butterfly and adhered her to my card base with foam dots. Last i stamped the Hey You sentiment from Tri-Me! I think this is a perfect little hello card for a little girl!!

Make sure you play along with us (you have like 3 weeks, no excuses!)!!! :D I can't wait to see your creations!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Overwelmed by your Kindness

Hi!!

Today i'm popping in with card i made this weekend! But first i'd like to give a little shout out to Susan at Penny Black! I was lucky to win a prize pack a couple weeks agao and one of my choices was the Foliage Fancy stamp set. I've been trying to get my hands on this set, for like, forever!! I like to make purchase from online stores so i can get a variety of items from different manufactures, and every time this set would be out of stock.

Well Susan emailed and said... you guessed it, it was out of stock! It made me sad!! However a few days later Susan emailed that she searched high and low and found ONE set!! Whoo hooo!! I was so excited!! I am also amazed at the customer service for someone who wasn't a paying customer!!! I am impressed and will so be making my future Penny Black purchases directly from them!! :)

I'm also entering this into Darnell's new NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) Challenge! The theme is Anything Goes! Its a new challenge that is almost up, so hurry to play along too!!

Ok, so back to the card!! So i really love this set and as i was making this card i kept thinking of other ways to use it!! I first stamped the 3 different types of leaves all over my card base. Before i did this i did to a couple tests on scrap paper to make sure i picked the right ink colors. I also liked the texture my dye ink pads created when stamping these solid stamps. The pads are felt like, so there is a nice texture to them and i love how the leaves shows that texture!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

Then i went in with just the outline leaves and stamped them over the solid leaves. I used a kraft ink for the lighter leaf and a dark brown for the darker leaves. Next i found a speech bubble in my extra do-dad bowl, i cut off the little tail that made it a speech bubble. I stamped the sentiment Overwhelmed by your Kindness in dark brown ink.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I wrapped some twine around my card base and tied it in a bow. Last i added my sentiment bubble with foam dots!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Crazy About You

Hi!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! After the super, super busy week last night i relaxed, studied and made some cards!!! I have been working ahead, so today's card i made a week ago or so!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I was in a minty mood, so i used some dark mint cardstock for the card base. Then i stamped the sentiment from Lighter Than Air, in the middle of my card base. Next i stamped a few hearts from various stamp sets all round the sentiment. Some of the hearts were also stamped a gain before re-inking.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

When the stamping was done, i added white opaque splatters all over the card base. Then i made my bow. First i pressed a mint ink pad into a piece of white cardstock. Once it was try i cut the cardstock with the bow die. I assembled the bow and adhered it to my card base.

I love how this card turned out, and its so minty fresh!! LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Robot Card Set

Hi there!!

I'm stopping by super fast to share a card set with you! I'm going to be keeping it short and sweet (but with lot of photos!!) as i have several things to get done. This week has been super busy, much more then it normally has been, but i'll give details this weekend when it gets back to normal!

Anyway i decided to make a card set just for the boys! This would be nice to have on hand for any future boy birthdays, thank yous or just because!! I also had just completed the set when i saw that that Keep It Simple had a new challenge: Splatters, talk about great timing!! So i'm entering this set into their challenge!!

I decided to use up this multicolored blank card set i had, to start i stamped The Alley Way Stamps Crossing Lines stripes in white ink on each card, i set those aside to dry (i used a nice and juicy white pigment ink).

Meanwhile i stamped 5 different robot images from Bot Time And Lighter Then Air. To keep it simple i used Inktense colored pencils and a Copic Colorless Blender. Then i cut them all out.

Next i stamped various sentiments, also in white pigment ink. I also used an opaque white ink spray to randomly splatter slots on each card. I set those aside to dry (it didn't take too long, and i made another card while i waited!)

Last i added my robots to each card with foam dots! And wa-la a quick card just for the boys!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll be back this weekend!! Take card!!

Live Your Life In Color

Hello!!

I'm popping in quickly to share a card with you!! (i'm still working away at Pre-Calculus, but i think about it enough so i'm not going to talk about it!! lol!) I was looking at The Alley Way Stamps new Buggin In Out stamp set  (its this months free set with a $40 purchase) and really wanted to use the jar, but what to do with it?!?! And then it hit me... the paint brush from the True Colors set!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I pulled out some watercolor paper and stamped the paint brush. Then i masked off just the tip of brush handle so when i stamped the jar it would look like the paint brush is inside the jar. Next i stamped the sentiment also from the True Colors set!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i did some watercoloring! I used some watercolor crayons, coloring them on a clear block then picking up color with a little bit of water and a paint brush. I colored the paint brush, plus added some water to the jar. I mixed the orange color with the blue, to get (or at lease i hope) a used water look! Like i just cleaned the brush and some of the paint is mixing with the water.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

When that was done, i painted a ground for my jar and added some orange color to the stamped color!! Then i trimmed the panel about 1/4 inches shorter then my orange card base and rounded the top corners. I decided not to add or do anything else! I thought it had more punch to it by leaving it a one layer card!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll be back later in the week with more The Alley Way Inspiration and if i get stuff (pre-calculus) done, i'll try to get some other cards up that have been hanging around my desk for way to long!!

Waffle Flower Challenge June/July 2014

Hello!!

If you were not aware, there is a new Challenge in town!! Its the Waffle Flower Challenge and i was lucky to be invited to join the challenge design team!!!  This challenges gives you a chance to use those awesome Waffle Flower Stamps & Dies!!! Its pretty easy to play along!! The Challenge runs from June 15th to July 25th, plenty of time to play with us!!!

The Challenge will have a Sketch Challenge and a Technique Challenge! Do one or the other, or do both, its up to you!! Click here to see the first Challenge and all the details along with how you could win some Waffle Flower goods!!!

For my card i decided to use the Technique Challenge - Stamp a Pattern (which i did randomly!!):

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I used few of the dots from Flower Circles stamp set and inked them up Distress Ink. Distress Ink tends to bead up on solid stamps, so you get a vintage like look when they are stamped. I also used the ink to ink up the edges, along with the rest of the card. The card was a light Kraft, but with the light layer of ink it made it a shade or so darker.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i did a technique i do a lot which is making my own colored card stock. I take a panel of white cardstock and press my ink pad onto the paper. I did this with a melon and green color. With the melon color i stamped a flower from Flower Circles in a dark pink, then cut it out. Next i stamped the stem on the green. I stamped the solid leaves twice with the same green, then cut out the stem and leaves.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i die used the rectangle from the Surface - Tag Die set and cut it out from my home made green cardstock. I placed on the left of my card base with foam adhesive. Then i added the flower and stem. Last i stamped the Let Love Grow sentiment.

Be sure to stop by the challenge for all wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!! And i can't wait to see your take on the Challenges!!!
