Be Inspired Challenge #56 Take 1

Hi there!!

This is my first post of two today, if you are looking for my Pretty Pink Posh Hop post, click here.

There is a new challenge at the Be Inspired Challenge #56 and i have to say this photo is a challenge!! Here is the photo inspiration:

As i was thinking about this picture i kept coming back to the light that is shining down. And i kind of got an idea... and i have to say it turned out just liked pictured it in my head.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started with a panel of watercolor paper. I used a face from the stamp set Face It, i masked of the mouth and eye brows. I stamped the eyes and part of the light bulb from Lighter Than Air in versamark ink, then embossed it in white. I also made a mask for the eyes and used it to cover them.

Next i used Black Soot Distress ink and a blending tool to apply ink to most of my panel. Then i added yellow ink around the light bulb, i added a little bit of orange around the bulb. Then i lightly blended the yellow in with the black.

For the sentiment i used Alphabet Soup to stamp and emboss in white the sentiment Any One There? Then i used black soot to color the strip. To clean the embossed letters i used a paint brush and a tiny bit of water. I added this to my card base with foam dots. Last i used a black marker to color the eyes pupils black.

I hope to see your take on the photo inspiration, you have plenty of time to play along with us at the Be Inspired Challenge!!

A Little Bird Told Me

Hi there!!

Today i have a funny card for you!! I just love this image and sentiment! Every time i see it, it makes me laugh!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I stamped the kitty image on a white card base. I used Memento ink because i used Inktense pencils and a colorless Copic blender to color the kitty, ladder, ground and bird feathers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I wanted to keep the card easy, so i didn;t add any embellishment or glitter. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of blue scrap paper, trimmed it with an angle on one end. I used a staple to attache the sentiment.

Have a great day!!

Happy Halloween

Hey there!!

I'm sharing a The Alley Way Stamps card from my card pile today!! Fall will be here before you know it and with the August release the free with $40 stamp set has a Happy Halloween sentiment which is perfect to pair with the TAWS set Bumps In The Night!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started with some black card stock and my Picket Fence Distress Stain. I just dabbed the stain on the card stock to make my own polka-dot paper. I set that aside to dry and then did a little stamping! I stamped the cute bat from Bumps In The Night on watercolor paper and colored him with distress markers. I also added a little Wink of Stella to his wings (not that you can tell in the photo, but i did, i swear!!) I also stamped the Halloween sentiment from Now You See Me on a piece of white card stock.

Once my background was dry i added a strip of orange washi tape. Then i added some pattern chipboard, from deep, deep in my rarely seen sticker/chipboard embellishments drawer! I also added the cute little bat to a chip board tag.

I added the sentiment strip over the washi tape and chipboard. Last i added the chipboard tag!

Happy Everything

Hi!

Yep another card from my pile!! I've been good, other then DT work i haven't made any other cards!! Its been a nice break, but the stamps are calling (especially the new ones, and i did a little organizing and 'found' lots of sets i want to play with!). But i am sticking to my guns and will not make any more until the card pile on my desk is gone, so to hurry it up i'm really working on getting these cards up on the blog, i still have quite a few to go, too!)

Ok, enough blabbing! This card started with a Penny Black die, Field of Dreams. I cut the poppy flowers from watercolor paper, then i used some distress ink, a paint brush and water to color the flowers.

As the flowers dried i used a Tim Holtz stencil and green distress ink to add a little texture the white card base. Next i stamped the sentiment in brown ink.

I added the flowers to the card base with foam dots. I thought it still needed a little something, so i got out my wood tape and tried to cut it with a punch. It wasn't easy to do, but finally got it to cut, then added the butterflies to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Chase Your Dreams

Hi there!!

Sharing another card from my card pile!! I made this card a few months ago when Altenew had just released their first stamps.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew

I decided to play with some pattern paper and started with this a pretty chevron stripe pattern. I cut a big star from the paper in the upper right corner. Next i made my own colored card stock. I used a piece of white card stock and pressed and smeared it in a peach ink pad, i adhered it to my card base. Then placed the die cut pattern paper over it.

Using one of the sentiments form Altenew Thoughts & Reminders i stamped one part of the Chase your Dreams near the top of my card. Then i stamped the rest of the sentiment below the star.

I though it still need a little something, so i found this Kraft die cut in my extra embellishment dish. I added it to my card with foam tape. I still wasn;t quite done, i wanted a little sparkle and really wanted to add some rhinestones, but i didn't have 4 of the same kind. So instead i added glitter glue to each circle.

Have a great day!!

Waffle Flower Challenge August/September 2014

Hi there!!

A new challenge is up over at Waffle Flower!! There are two challenges, a sketch challenge and a technique challenge. Play one, combine them or play along with each one! The challenge runs from August 15th to September 25th, so you have plenty of time to play along!! Did i mention there are prizes!! I hope to see your cards or projects!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

I played along with the sketch challenge, flipping it on over on its side. I started with a white card base and masked off the top part of the card. I stamped the sketchy hearts from the Surface - Tag Stamp Set with mint ink. I also used the tiny heart and raspberry jam, stamping it off first.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

Next i masked off a small strip just above the hearts and painted on some gold smooch. While that dried i die cut 3 tags with the Surface - Tag Die - Starter Kit. I used the matching solid polka-dot stamp and inked up one tag with mint and the other in the raspberry jam. I left one tag white.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

I also die cut the little tag attacher thingy (not sure what its called). I also painted it with the gold smooch. I stamped Friend from the Flower Circles Stamp Set with the raspberry jam ink, i stamped it again just off set with out re-inking to create a shadow.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

I layered all the tags together, added the little tag attacher and tied some twine in knots. I also looped the twine through the attacher, i feathered the tags so you can see part of each tag. I added the tags to the card base with foam dots.

Fun sketch huh?! I hope you all will play along! Have a great day!!

We Click

Hi there!!

Another card from my stack of cards on my desk! When i made this i was playing with a new die and experimented with a stencil and some other ink i have. I am entering this into the Moxie Fab Challenge Clicking Cameras Challenge!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by die cutting a new frame die from Simon Says Stamp. I placed a stencil over the inside frame panel. Next i used my PTI inks and an ink applicator to create a multicolor background.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I used a distress marker to color the outer thin frame. I added both frames to my card base, then stamped the We Click sentiment in grey.

Next i stamped the camera image from The Alley Way Stamps Framed set. I stamped it on watercolor paper and then colored it with distress markers. I cut it out and added it to my card base with foam dots. Last i added a few white enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
