Ho.. Ho.. Ho..

Hello!!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!! Today i'm playing with one of the new October sets All Wrapped Up!!

I played a little with a stencil and embossing paste. I placed a stencil over a white card base, then i moved the stencil about a half turn or so. Instead of the stencil covering the majority of the card base, by turning it i left each of the corners empty.

Next i die cut a heart from red card stock. I stamped the cute little bird from the Alley Way Stamps on some card stock. I colored her with some distress markers. I cut her out, then added some glitter glue to her hat and sweater.

I also die cut a banner and stamped the Ho.. Ho.. Ho.. sentiment from the TAWS Tag Alongs stamp set. When my embossing paste was dry i added the heart, then the sentiment and last the little birdie!!

Be Inspired Challenge #58

Hi!!

Time for a new challenge at The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge!! We have a fun Halloween inspiration to get you in the Halloween mood!! Don't forget you have like 3 weeks left o play along and you have a chance to win a stamp set and be a guest designer!! Here is the photo inspiration!!

I really loved the blue pick-up truck with the orange pumpkins in the back bed, so i decided to use those as my main colors. I found a chevron die that i haven;t used yet. So cut it from black, blue and orange card stocks. I also cut the chevron pattern from a piece of white cardstock. I pushed out all the the positive pieces from the white panel and i adhered it to a white card base.

Next i placed the positive pieces from the blue, black and orange cuts into the negative on my card base. I played around with the placement, but once i liked it i glued them into place.

I really wanted to use this Zombie sentiment from the Bumps in the Night stamp set, in fact i tried using it last week but it wasn;t working for the card i was making. I already had a couple of the brains cut (i used the stamps matching SVG file) and stamped, so i was determined to use the brains and sentiment with this card!! I finished stamping the brains and then used a couple distress markers to color them.

I cut a stitched rectangle from white card stock and stamped the sentiment off to the side in black ink. Next i added the brains to the other side of the sentiment. I added the stitched panel to my card base with foam tape. I thought it still needed something so i added a few black sequins!

Waffle Flower Challenge October/November 2014

Hello!!

A new challenge is up over at Waffle Flower Challenge!! Play along for your chance to be a guest challenge designer and win a stamp set!!! We have two different categories you can play along with, choose just one or the other ... or combine them together!! You have until November 25th to link up! Plenty of time!! Here are this months categories:

I decided to work with the photo inspiration. I love all the texture in this photo!! I really wanted to play with Feather More Stamps Set, plus this set has texture written all over it!!  I started with the feather dies that goes along with these stamps by die cutting some brown felt.

Next i pressed a versamark inkpad on the felt, mainly along the edges. Next i added white embossing powder, but before i heated it i used a stiff brush (a well used paint brush that didn;t get washed out well) to brush off some of the embossing powder. Last i carefully heated the embossing powder. I love the the look the embossing powder gave the feathers!! Going to be doing this again!!

Next i stamped some feathers randomly over my white card base with brown inks. I inked the card base lightly with a light brown ink. Then i wrapped twine around the panel, near the top. I added the feathers, tied the twine in a knot around the feather ends.

I used the Holiday Label 1 Die to cut a piece of card stock, i then stamped the matching stamp from the Holiday Labels Merry Stamps set. I stamped it and the sentiment from Holiday Labels Give Thanks Stamp set in brown ink and then lightly inked the label with brown (the label was a little too white against my background). Last i added it to cover the knot and feather ends.

Hello!!

Winter and Christmas cards are on my mind!!! Yes, its a sad truth, but i have to start building up my stash and their are lots of goodies to play with!! Today i'm sharing a The Alley Way Stamps card that features one of this months new sets Snow Daze! I am linking this card up to Inkspirational Challenge - Purple with Grey/Silver (which is very hard to photograph!!! hehe!!!

I started with dark purple card stock (i swear its purple!!!) and stamped a few snowflakes from the Snow Daze stamp set in versamark ink. I then embossed the snowflakes with silver embossing powder. Then i cut some white cardstock with a PTI die to create my snow drifts. I added one layer directly to the purple card base and the other shorter one with foam tape.

Next i stamped two snowmen from the TAWS Chill Out set on white card stock, then again on the purple and some dark grey. I paper pieced the scarfs, ear muffs and hat with the purple and grey, then colored the had black.

I added the snowman to my card with foam dots and then found the grey Hi bubble in my 'extra' stash. I love it when stuff you have already matches!! I also added the bubble with foam tape!!

Have a Rockin' Christmas!

Hiya!!

Ok last card today, i promise!! hehe!! This card is for Winnie & Walters WCMD On Trend: Camera Challenge.

I found some super cute camera pattern paper! I added the pattern paper to my card base. Next i die cut and stamped all the cute little guys from Simon Says Stamp new Winter Friends set. I stamped them all with brown memento ink because i colored them with a copic colorless blender and Inktence colored pencils.

I also added a little glitter glue to the Santa and big Penguin hats. I arranged all the characters on my card base and placed a white photo frame over them. I wanted to make sure they would fit in the frame before i adhered them all down to my card base.

While the glue dried i stamped the sentiment Have a Rockin' Christmas! on the photo frame. Last i added the frame to the card base with foam dots!

Christmas Greetings

Hello!!

Popping in with a another Winnie & Walter WCMD Pinspiration Challenge, this time the challenge is a photo inspiration:

I took my inspiration from the colors. I love the wood grain with shades of pink a little orange! I decided to use Simon Says Stamps Luminary Circles, so i die cut a couple shades of pink and a light orange. I also found some wood grain pattern paper and die cut the circles from it. You get a ton of little circles!!

I mixed all the circles together on my table, then started putting them on my white card base. I tried to do it randomly but still balance the colors. I stamped and embossed the sentiment on the one big wood grain circle.

When i was happy the circle placements i adhered them to my white card base. I didn;t pop any circle up so its a great mailable card!!

Merry Christmas

Hello!

I'm popping back in with a card for Winnie & Walter WCMD Color Combo Challenge. (click here if you are looking for my TAWS card) I decided to make a Christmas card and use some new Simon Says Stamp goodies. Here is the color combo:

I started by die cutting the Merry Christmas die from gold card stock. Next i stamped the ornaments in peach and pink (i had to go with a darker pink b/c i don't have that light pink ink) on white card stock.

I adhered the gold die cut piece over the stamped ornaments with foam tape.For the background i used a sheet of washi tape like material. It has small gold like stars, it is adhesive on the pack so i just adhered it to a white card base and trimmed off the extra.

Last i added the gold die cut and ornament. I'll be back soon with more two cards for Winnie & Walter WCMD challenges!
