Not a Creature

Hiya!!

Today i have a Christmas card to share!! I am always tiring to use up embellishments (all 1 billion of them!! hehehe!) I pulled out some wood veneer stars and started to play around with them, and that's when i made a Christmas tree out of them!

I colored the wood with a green copic marker, then arranged them on a white card base. I used liquid adhesive so i could adjust the pieces. For the star i picked a tiny star, used a distress marker to color it yellow and then added some yellow glitter glue.

Next i stamped the sentiment 'Not a Creature Was Stirring' from the new With Wondering Awe set,  underneath the tree, it kind of makes the trunk of the tree (to me at least!).

Then i stamped the cute little mouse, colored him with copics and then cut him out. I also stamped, colored and cut out a tiny present from the Bee Unique set. I added the mouse and present to the tree and wa-la a easy Christmas card!!

Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Im popping in super duper quick!! I made a card for the Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop but i thought i wouldn;t have time to edit photos and do up a post, well i'm waiting for Fedex to show up instead of getting errands done so i figured i can play along and take a break from precalculus review!

So here it is! I started by die cutting a few hearts from some pink pattern paper and inlaying some hearts cut from different pattern papers.

Next i stamped the cup from Simon Says Stamps What's Brewing set on some pattern paper. I also stamped the sentiment 'You Mocha Me Crazy!' I stamped three times so it would be nice and bold and easy to read on the pattern paper.

I also stamped the steam and the heart and circle then cut them out. I added the circle to my cup by cutting a slit were the liquid meets the cup.

Along the bottom of my card base i added a strip of pattern paper to ground my cup. Then i added the cup and steam with foam dots and last added a few sequins!

I'm popping in super fast!!! This week and next i'm all about finals and i thought i had everything ready, but realized yesterday i didn;t have a card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired  Challenge! So a sentiment and dies and wa-la a card!!

Its super easy, i had an idea of what i wanted to do, but first i had to make i had a sentiment that would go with it! I pulled out the new More Than Words TAWS stamp set and decided to go with 'I Can't Thank You Enough'

Next i pulled out a watercolor panel and 2 pink watercolor crayons. I just scribbled randomly on my panel and then added some water to color the panel. I set that aside and then die cut some snowflakes from white card stock.

Then i added some gold glitter washi tape to a strip of card stock and cut it in half. I decided to add the sentiment at the bottom left, splitting the sentiment up into three lines. I added the strip of washi tape in between the sentiment.

Last i adhered the snowflakes directly to the panel and added some gold and white sequins. Then i just added the panel to a white card base! Super easy when you are in a time crunch!!

Sow How You Been?

Hello!!

I'm popping in real quick to share a card with you! Today's card features The Alley Way Stamps Oinker's mini set! Its free this month with a $90 purchase, in fact you also get mini Starburst set free!!

I started by stamping the big and small pigs in brown ink. I used distress markers to color them up, then i cut them out. I backed a card base with some wood plank pattern paper.

I pulled out some other patterns from the same paper pad and i die cut several tiny flowers. I also cut a strip of a light pattern. I stamped the sentiment 'Sow How You Been?' on the strip then added it to my card with foam dots.

Next i just added the pigs and arranged the flowers to other side of the pigs. I kept it simple because this would be a nice card to mail out and i didn;t want it too bulky!!

Bigger the Wish

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a great week! I'm popping in today to share a birthday card! GASP! I know its NOT a Christmas card!! Kind of took a little break away from the Christmas cards!

I decided to play with The Alley Way Stamps new More Then Words stamp set! I really liked the one sentiment 'The More Candles the Bigger the Wish.' There are a couple older TAWS sets with candles that would go great with the sentiment.

I stamped the candles from Tag Alongs and Wish Big on different pattern papers. I cut out just the stems of the candles. Next i stamped the candles on white card stock. I colored the flames with distress markers, cut them out and then added the pattern paper stems.

I placed the candles on my white card base but i thought it still needed something. I pulled out the tiny dot cluster from With Wondering Awe and with a light grey ink i stamped a background on my card base.

Last i added the candles with foam dots and then stamped the sentiment below the candles. Oh and i rounded the corners as a final touch!!

I've started this post a couple of times but nothing seams to express my feelings in a way that i like, it always sounds better in my head then on the computer screen. It also really hit me yesterday, i was looking at the new January 2015 issue and was pleasantly surprised to see a card (along with few other awesome designers) i submitted to Stamping Royalty was highlighted by the editors. I had a great big smile on my face and that awesome feeling of seeing your work in a magazine. Then it hit me..... This will be the last time i'll see my card in the PC&S magazine, and i got really sad!

I was thinking of all the wonderful inspiration, techniques, tips, product, hints and friendships that have come out of my involvement with PC&S and well i am really sad, mad and disappointed to see it go! I know and understand why, but well i just don't have to words to describe the impact the magazine, designers, editors have had in my life. So i'm going to leave it there before i start crying and instead to everyone at PC&S THANK YOU!!!

I'm not going to go into the details of my card! Its a long hop, and well its pretty self explanatory, a little bit of stamps, die cutting, ink, scissors and paper!

Hello!!!

I'm stopping by to share a The Alley Way Stamps card! The December release has been awesome and today i am featuring the free mini stamp with a $40 purchase, Starburst!

I started by inking up the Starburst background and stamping it on a white card base. I did this until my 3.5 x 5 card base was covered. Then i pulled out some gold Smooch and randomly colored some of the squares.

Next i added black rhinestones to each of the bursts centers. For the sentiment i cut a strip of white card stock and stamped the sentiment from the new More Than Words set. I added it to my card with foam dots.

And that's it!! Easy to do but elegant!!
