Bear Hug!

Hello!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! Valentine stamps don't just have to be used in February! My card today features the Bear Hug stamp set, perfect to send someone who needs a hug!

First i stamped the bear image on some white card stock. This stamp set is a wobble set, so i also stamped the second bear stamp on a piece of scrap card stock. I used my Spectrum Noir to color both images. For the hearts on his pants, i went ahead and colored them red. Its really hard to go around them, so to save my sanity after coloring the shorts i then colored just the hearts with a white opaque pen.

Then i fussy cut out the top part of the full image, and then trimmed remaining card stock. Around the bottom i tied some pink backers twine in a bow. Next i fussy cut the bear head and arms, then i attached wobble to it and then added it the full bear.

I die cut a small heart from white card stock and then stamped the Bear Hug sentiment. Then i picked out some heart pattern paper and used a stitched rectangle die. I added the rectangle to a white card base.

Then i added the heart to the top right and trimmed off the over hang. With foam tape i adhered the bear image.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello!

Today i'm sharing a card i made for Uniko's March Challenge, the challenge is Spring or Easter. I went with Spring! I thought spring was here but it snowed this weekend!! It will melt soon, but really?!?! I'm so ready for some warmth!!

I started my card by using a Memory Box butterfly die and cut it from some water color paper. Then i with distress markers and water to smoosh the ink onto my butterfly. I used Peacock Feathers, Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire markers.

While that was drying i pulled out my Uniko Label Love: Thank You stamp set and i stamped one of the circles in an aqua blue ink. With the Chipped Sapphire marker i colored in the leaves. Next i stamped the Thanks in black ink and then cut used a circle punch to punch out the circle label.

Then i colored the body and antennae with a black distress marker and adhered it to my butterfly wings. I added the butterfly to a Kraft card base and then added the stamped label. I trimmed off a little of the label that hanged over the edge.

For a little sparkle i added a row of grey rhinestones to the butterflies body. Last i rounded the corners of the card.

Happiness

Hello!!

My card features products from Photo Play Paper - Paper Dolls Collection Pack. I got lucky and won the pack on their Facebook page and decided to play with it and make a card.

I started by die cutting a stitch rectangle from the Sweetness sheet, then from the Cuteness sheet i cut a stitched oval. Then i picked out a few different elements from the sticker sheet.

Since i never know for sure how i'm going to arrange stickers, i use baby powder to take care of the stickiness. I can then arrange and rearrange the stickers until i have them how i want them.

First i wrapped the oval with twine and tied it in a bow. Then i placed one of the sticker girls and used foam tape to adhere her to the oval. Next i added the rectangle and oval to a white card base.

Then i added the sentiment sticker, the flowers and scissors with foam tape. Last i added a few clear sequins to my card.

Pinterest Inspired April Challenge

Hello!

It's the first of the month (can you believe it's April already!?!?!) and that means its time for anew challenge over at Pinterest Inspired Challenge!!

Here is this months inspiration photo.

I really liked the white outline of the flowers with the pretty colors inside each shape. I decided to give something a try, and i think it worked out great!! My background is white embossed, not with a stamp but from a stencil!! I placed a stencil over a panel of white card stock and then pressed my versamark ink pad into the open areas of the stencil. To get a good layer of the ink i really pressed and repressed the versamark through the open areas. Then i removed the stencil and added the white embossing powder and heated it.

Next i picked out some distress markers that were close to the photo colors (not quite the same) and then squiggled them on a clear block and with water added them to my embossed image. Since i didn;t use watercolor paper, the colors didn;t blend well, and that's what i was going for, bright color with minimal blending.

I set that aside to dry and then stamped the flower image on some white water color card stock. Then i used the same colors to color the image, adding in a green for the stems. Next i fussy cut it out and set it aside too.

Then i cut a strip black card stock and stamped the sentiment that came with the flowers. I heat embossed the sentiment then added it across my panel with foam tape. Next i added the flowers and last added a few black pearls.

Enjoy the Ride

Hello!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today and i have a card featuring the new Clear Stamps available (or will be soon) at your local Michael's, it's called Got Style SC0678. It has a group of styling ladies and this cut lady on a skate board, i mean how fun is that???

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by finding a pattern paper pad by Basic Grey, Shine On... I die cut a stitched rectangle from a colorful strip pattern. From the same paper pad, i picked out different patterns for her bags and coat.

Then i used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color her skin and dress, i went a little funky with purple and white flowers!! LOL! Next i fussy cut around just the top of her, leaving the bottom half still in the paper.

I stamped the sentiment Happy Birthday Enjoy the Ride below her bags. Then i added the stripe panel to a white card base and added my stamped image with foam tape. Last i added a few different colored enamel dots to my card. I have so many enamel dots, rhinestones and pearls that i always have some that match the pattern papers i end up use!! Hello, my name is Dana and buy and hoard embellishments!! LOL  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Dana

It seams my hoarding also applies to pattern paper, as the collection i have is no longer available at scrapbooking stores! :) Supplies used: Basic Grey - Shine On..., My Minds Eye Enamel Dots - Cut & Paste Noted, Lost & Found Christmas, Mistletoe Magic.

Little Moments With You Matter

Hello!

My mojo has been zip, nada, just not around .... anywhere!!! Unfortunately stress from my class has just really affected my creativity, but this weekend i tried to just set it aside and do some crafting and i was able to do a few cards, some for fun and a few challenges and some others for my design teams. Today's card i made for Unity Stamp Co's Show & Tell Facebook group, the challenge this week is anything goes with any Unity girl.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Unity Stamp Co.
I've been seeing a lot of monochromatic coloring and finally got around to giving it a try! I started with some Kraft card stock and i stamped the girl from Unity's Only Imagine stamp set with some brown ink. Then i used my Spectrum Noir markers BG1, BG4, BG7 to color her up. I did leave her eyes uncolored.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Unity Stamp Co.

Next i stamped the sentiment below her in brown ink and then cut  her how with a fancy rectangle die. Then i found some pretty text pattern paper and i added it to a white card base. Then i added the stamped rectangle with foam tape and last i added a few matching enamel dots.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Unity Stamp Co.

Now this was my second attempt at monochromatic coloring, i first stamped and colored with EB1, EB2, EB7 (on the left) but i wasn't sure i liked it, so i did it again with the BG colors. I decided i like the BG colors the best (on the right), but then figured i already had the other one colored i might as well make a card out of it too.

After editing the photo's, i'm not sure which one i like the best, on one hand i like them, but on another i think the colors are just a little too different! It's probably because i've never colored anything monochromatic before! Which one do you prefer?

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
