Hi,
Today i have two cards, one is this weeks Make it Monday and the other i made for this months PTI blog hop, but ..... With work and classes starting tomorrow (Yikes!) i forgot to get the post ready. I already had plans Thursday night and couldn;t get it up in time, so i've added the card below today's MIM. So today's post is a little long! :)
The MIM challenge this week is to color free style. I experimented with a few different stamps and markers. I ended up with some prismacolor markers and a spider web stamp from PTI Halloween Tags. I used orange, green and purple to color the spider web.
I used a little spider from another stamp in the set, and cut him out. I added thin black ribbon to the circle for the spider to 'hang' from. The the top of the circle i added a tiny bow. I adhered the spider on a pop up dot at the end of the ribbon.
I made the cardbase from black cardstock and added a white faux stitching around the front. Next i adhered the circle on pop up dots. I did this 6 times to make a card set, but forgot a card when i took the pics! :)
My next card i intended for the August PTI blog hop. I really liked the dark pink in the photo. I used some pink cardstock and stamped the strawberry in versamark ink and embossed them. Next i added Stickles to each strawberry. Above this i stamped a twinkle background in green on white cardstock.
I added a strip of green ribbon across the card and stamped 'are so sweet' in black ink. I wanted to do something different then the traditional bow. From a length i of ribbon i made 3 loops. I used a stapler to secure. Then i made another 3 loops with another piece of ribbon. I used the stapler to secure both sides together and used a small piece of ribbon to wrap around the middle. Then i added a big matching button to the middle and topped it off with a chipboard U.
Have a great day!!

CAS-ual Fridays - Embossing
Hi,
Today i have a card for CAS-ual Friday's Challenge. This weeks challenge is embossing ... any kind of embossing. I went with dry embossing. I used an wood grain embossing folder on brown card stock. Then i used brown ink to add a little distressing to the embossing.
I stamped some cute little acorns in brown. For the acorn cap i used a bronze ink, then added brown on top. These little acorns are so cute!!. I layered the top acorn with a pop up dot and added a brown rhinestone.
I then used a flag to for the sentiment: nut'n better then a friend like you. Behind the acorn and sentiment i added a brown sparkly ribbon to run horizontally across the card. I then layered this embossed rectangle with pop up dots on a cardbase.
Thanks for stopping by!!

PTI's Make it Monday - Glitter Die Border
Hello,
Today i have a card i made for PTI's Make it Monday. The technique is to make a glitter border with a die. The die i used was one of PTI's tags. I lightly traced around the die and did the glitter border in a white glitter.
I die cut the tag and stamped the snowflake squares. I used 2 different inks, because i didn;t have the green/blue color that matches the pattern paper. Then i stamped the sentiment from the same set in a dark grey.
For the top of the tag i used twine to make a 'loop bow'. I folded the twine back and forth, kind of like a zig zag, but holding one end as i coiled the twine. Then holding one end of the loops tight i flattened the other ends in the middle to see if i had enough loops to get a flower shape. When i was happy with it, i used the extra twine to wrap around the end that i was holding. I threaded this through the hole the tag has. To help flatten the flower i added a snowflake brad through the middle of the flower. The brad was too blue, so i inked some green over it to get the green/blue color.
Last i wrapped some twine along one side and adhered the tag on pop up dots. Flower does hid the glitter border a bit at that side, but you can still see it along the top and bottom of the tag.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello,
Today i have a card for Hero Arts August Challenge. The challenge is to make a card for a kid. I made this card with a older kid in mind, any ware from 9-12, the tween stage. :)
I started with Hero Arts bicycle stamp on kraft card stock. I stamped it again and just cut out the basket. I added a little marker and purple glitter to the flowers, then layered it on the 1st bicyle . The purple flowers i cut from felt and layered them over a pattern kraft cardbase.
Before adhering the bycle i tied twine around the card with a tag that reads Make a Wish. So now i have a cute card for a more mature kid!

Simon Says.... All White!
Hi there,
Today i have a new challenge. I learned about this challenge from Joy @ Less is More. I had a great time with this challenge, i wasn;t sure if my idea would work out, but it did!
I started with white textured cardstock and stamped the flower in versamark, then embossed them with white embossing powder. Next i colored each flower with watercolor crayons. Then i cut them out. I also cut each petal a little deeper toward the center but not all the way. This helped in curling each petal.
Next i used Rangers liquid pearls to create small dots around the flower centers. Then i added rhinestones to the flower centers.
For the sentiment i stamped hi on a circle tag and adhered it to cardstock with white ribbon. The cardstock i embossed with a plaid folder. Last i adhered the flowers across the card.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Peacock Bookmark
Hello,
Today i have a bookmark/card that i made for a friend and coworker. You can find the Bachelorette card (also featuring peacock feathers) here. This card was for her bridal shower at work. All the girls at work brought a dish and we gathered around the conference table enjoying good food and talk. After eating the to be bride opened her gifts. We all had a great time and the bride got lots of goodies!
When i sat down to make this card, i was going to go clean and simple.... but as you can see it didn;t turn out that way. With her other card i went with bright colors, but this one i wanted something more natural, so i went with browns, with just a little pop of color.
I made bookmark first then trimmed another layer. I used Tim Holtz distress ink to stamp the peacock feather, sentiment and edges. I colored the peacock with colored pencils. Then to achieve the crackle look, i stamped the area over the feather with versamark and used clear embossing powder. I did this 4 times. Then i bent the bookmark to crack the embossing. I rubbed more ink into the cracks.
I threaded some gold toned ribbon through the top and tied it with twine. I then added a few specks around the sentiment to make it more imperfect.
I used some pattern kraft cardstock to make the card. Using a notch tool i made little notches to hold the bookmark. I stamped Congrats on the inside.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Peacock Congrats
Hello,
Today i have a card that i made for a wonderful girlfriend. Last night was her Bachelorette party, and i use any excuse i can to make a card. In fact i made her wedding invitations that i will share in a week or two. She really likes peacock so that's were i started. I am also submitting this in Moxie Fab's Fanatical About Botanical. As i took the pics i thought this was a nice modern botanical.
I started with the peacock and stamped in on a 4 x 4 white cardstock several times. Then i colored the peacocks with colored pencils. Next i cut the square into 1 x 1 squares. I adhered the squares on pop up dots to a green cardstock square.
Next i tied a green satin ribbon around the square and adhered the square to a white cardbase. Last i added green rhinestones to 2 peacock feathers and the middle of the bow.
For the inside i stamped congrats in black and added a die cut number 1. Then i hand wrote on finding the. So the whole sentiment reads congrats on finding the 1.
Thanks for stopping by!
