Hello!
Its been awhile but i am finally back! I finished a tough semester and i am having to take a chemistry class again since i missed a B- by 3 points!! Yes only 3... but now at least it is only one class so i have a bit more time!
I've been catching up on projects and such. I made 3 cards for this years Gallery Idol contest. Today I'm sharing 2 and the third tomorrow. I am also looking forward to participating in challenges again and checking out and leaving comments on fellow cardmaker's blogs!
First up is a card geared toward a young girl. My mom found this cute stamp at a scrapbook convention we went to a few weeks again. I stamped and embossed the young girl and colored her with watercolors.
I also added just a touch of glitter to the flowers in her hair, hand and on the present. I didn;t want a tone of glitter, just a touch so i added the glitter with a paint brush.
I stamped Happy Birthday and then added sister with alphabet stickers.
For the next card i made a mask of rectangles with my silhouette. I then placed the mask over a cardbase, and sprayed each rectangle with a different colored ink spray. Next i stamped some faux splatters and circles with a soft grey.
Then i die cut and then stamped the guitar. I adhere this to the cardbase with pop up dots. Last i added silver sequins. This card is geared toward a teen boy.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'll have the 3rd card for Gallery Idol tomorrow and more cards next week! Have a great night!
Dana

These are great! I especially like the first one with that subtle watercoloring.
ReplyDeleteBoth are fabulous Dana! I adore your watercoloring of the first...perfect shades and shadowing. And the secong is so energetic and strong...like a teen boy. Great designs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer about the class - you'll get it this time around! Much easier to focus on just one class at a time.
ReplyDeleteI love the softness of the watercolours, and what a pretty stamp! And the second - super cool! Love how you did the mists.
