Kraft & Flowers

Hiya!!

Today i'm sharing a The Alley Way Stamps card from my card pile (its slowly getting smaller, but there are still lots of cards to share!) Meanwhile i'm enjoying this little mini-break from card making, and i say mini break because i have completed a DT card last week along with a special card and this weekend i will start thinking about the TAWS September release!! But other then that i'm not making any more new cards until i through my card pile!! :)

This card features a stamp from one of the new August release!! I also played a little with a stencil, i started by placing the stencil over my Kraft card base. I inked the dots with blue distress ink. Then i moved the stencil a little and with a white opaque pen traced the dots.

Next i stamped the big flower from the new Flower Show set on Kraft and embossed it with white embossing powder. Then i thought i would see what coloring copics on Kraft would look like, sufice to say it didn;t really make a difference. To me it looks like i used a watermark marker, but in fact i used a light and dark purple Copics, but you don't really see the purple, but i like how it looked so i went with it!!

After cutting the flowers out i die a PTI tag from Kraft cardstock. I added a little bit of white ribbon and twine to the top of the tag. I added the tag to my card base with foam dots and then added the flowers.

Have a great day!!

Birthday Girl

Hi there!!!

I'm sharing another card from my card pile!! This was a just because card, i really love how it turned out!!

I started by placing polka-dot stencil over a red card base. I used a white colored pencil to color in the dots, i randomly skipped a dots here and their. When i lifted the stencil i realized it wasn't really random i ended up with a pattern anyways! But i like it anyway!

Next i stamped the sweet little girl holding a present from Penny Black Cake & Wishes stamp set. I stamped her on some watercolor paper with Memento black ink. Next i lightly colored the girl and present with Inktense watercolor pencils, then i used the Copic colorless blender to spread the pencil. Note: It does stain your Copic numb!

Once she was all colored i placed her in my paper trimmer and just trimmed the paper until i reached the stamped image. I did this from the bottom and the top, next i cut her out only on the right side.

I placed the girl over my card base, at the left side, adhering her with foam dots. Last i stamped the sentiment on the polka-dot part of my card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

A Sweet Beach Girl Hello

Hi there!!!

Today i'm sharing a card that features a digital stamp from the talented card maker Elena Roussakis, now trying her hand at stamp designing!! And i must say she's awesome at it!!! Elena is offering this digital stamp FREE, just pop over to her blog to download!

A few friends have gathered to show off this new stamp!! If you are just stopping by my blog you can click here start at the Elena's blog and start at the beginning (scroll down for a full list). Or if you came from the very talented Laura Bassen you are in the right place!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Since this sweet girl is all decked out and ready for the beach i had an idea to put her on the beach, i just love it when a idea works out!! I started by opening the digital stamp in my Silhouette, i re-sized her a little. To make sure she was the right size for a card, i added a rectangle and sized it to 4.25 x 5.5. I placed the girl inside the rectangle and adjusted her size accordingly. I also added a sun and clouds to the rectangle.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

With the print and cut feature on the Silhouette i printed and cut the beach girl out of some card stock. I then cut the sun from textured yellow card stock and the clouds from blue textured card stock. I used sandpaper to rough up the sun and clouds a little.

I colored the cute beach girl with distress markers, sketching them on a clear block and adding color with water and a paint brush. Just remember not to add to much water to the image .... there might be couple ink bleeding spots if you look close enough ... hehehe!!

Now to pull it all together! To make my beach i added a couple post it notes across my white card base, this was for the horizon. With scratch piece of paper i cut a slight wave in the edge. I placed it on my card base then inked the water with two blue distress inks. For the sand i added antique linen, then frayed burlap. I also tapped the frayed burlap with my ink applicator, it kind of stippled the ink, i though it made it look a little more like sand (not that you can really see it in the photo's, but its there!!)

Last i added the sun and one cloud to my card base. I added the second cloud and the beach girl with foam dots. I stamped a hello sentiment at the bottom right.

Thanks so much for stopping by!, Don't forget to check out Elena's blog to download this sweet beach girl image. Your next stop is the super talented Iwona!

Thanks a Bunch

Hi there!!

I'm sharing another card from my card pile!! I made this quite awhile ago, not long after i received some new goodies from Reverse Confetti.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Reverse Confetti

I started by die cutting several shapes from the Petals n' Posies set. I used kraft card stock and stamped the matching images in various color inks. I left a couple of the flower centers free of stamping. Next i die cut a tag and stamped the Thanks a Bunch sentiment. I also added a little twine bow to the tag.

I arrange all the flowers, leaves and tag on a dark grey card base. I used some foam dots to pop up the flower centers and the tag. And that's it, a pretty quick and easy card!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Chirp, Chirp

Hi there!!

Today i'm sharing a card i made a couple of weeks ago! In fact if you have been reading my blog lately you've noticed i have mentioned a stack of cards that are just hanging out at my desk waiting to be blogged about! Well i starting a Summer Cleaning (like spring cleaning, only well ... in late summer!!! haha!!) This cleaning includes doing some craft purging and getting it all up on ebay (and i have a lot, some still in boxes from when i moved!), when purging is done - re-organization  of my crafty space will be completed, my closet and clothes are going to get a purging too!! Also as part of this cleaning i'm going to blog every last card that is on my desk!! I will have to make a couple new ones for my design teams, but other then that, not making another card until my desk is clear!!! (then it can start all over again, ha!!!)

So to kick it off i'm sharing this card!! On the TAWS team the Alison challenged us with keywords and photo inspiration and i got a lot of cards done!! The keyword for this card was twine!!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I cut a panel from Kraft card stock and used a Tim Holtz ruler (it has tiny holes, like every 1/8th or something. With a pencil i marked every other hole, then punched each mark with a tiny hole punch. Next i threaded black twine through the holes, randomly choosing holes that matched (side to side) to some that didn't.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Then i stamped the two birdies from Lighter Then Air multiple times on watercolor paper. I colored them with distress markers and cut them out. Next i randomly placed the birds on my twine panel, when i was happy with the layout i adhered them with foam dots.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Last i needed a sentiment, i used Chirp from the Birds of a Feather set and stamped in 3 times in the bigger spaces made from the twine criss-crosses. On the inside i stamped Happy Bird-Day and added one last bird.

Thanks for stopping by!!
