Have a Magical Day!

Hi!

I hope your weekend has been great!! I know i'm not ready for Monday, but its going to come along anyway!! :D Today i have a little card to share with you! Another card featuring my 6 Copics, and if you are wondering, i decided not to get anymore! Only because the Simon Says Stamp release was so good!! Maybe one day i'll expand my Copic collection!! :D

So for my card i started with a piece of watercolor paper. I light sketched the area for a 4.25 x 5.5 card and then applied 4 different colors of distress ink. I used the applicator to blend the colors together a bit. Then i inked up and stamped the new set from The Alley Way Stamps - Seeing Spots. When the ink was dry i spritz the panel with water, letting it mix the ink together more. When that was almost dry i added drops of gold spray ink.

Next i stamped and colored the dragon from the TAWS Enchanted set. I used some gold Smooch to color the horn tips and spikes running down the dragon's back. Then i die cut a circle from black cardstock, along with 2 double ended banners.

I stamped and embossed half of the sentiment Have A Magical Day, on one banner and the second half on the other banner. I added the circle and banners to my panel and then cut out the dragon and added him with foam dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Be Inspired Challenge #54 - Take 2

Hi!!

Its time for card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge! There is still time to play, you could win a stamp set and a Guest Design Spot!! Here is this photo inspiration:

To start i stamped the Seeing Spots background on watercolor paper, then embossing it with clear embossing powder. Next i used distress ink and applicator to color the stamped panel. I trimmed a bit on each side. Then with an ink applicator i inked up the sides of my white card base with green ink.

Then i broke out the In Stitches stamp set and stamped a few images on watercolor paper. I used the ink pads to color the images, just pressing the ink pads onto the paper. I used a slim strip of kraft card stock and adhered it across my card base (the spots panel was adhered to my card base). I cut out the colored images and added them to my card too.

I decided not to pop any of the images, so i would have a flat card. Last i die cut a tag and stamped the I Sew Admire You sentiment on it, then adhered it to the top right corner and trimmed off the extra.

Friendship

Hiya!!!

So i have some birthday money to spend and i'm having a hard time figuring out what to get! There are so many yummy stamps and dies out there that i want! I also am contemplating getting some copics. I currently have six copics, 3 green and 3 purple. So to help decided if i want to get more i pulled out a new Penny Black stamp to practice with my tiny collection of copics!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I started by stamping the poppy's on a white tag that i had hanging out around my desk. I used two purples the color the poppy's (so i don;t think there is such a thing as purple poppy's but hey i have use what i have!!!), the third purple copic i have dosne;t really go with the other two, so i never use it!! lol!! I used the three green copics i have to color the leaves and stems.

Next i pulled out a panel that i made a couple months ago, you can check out this post and video to see how i made the panel, but the main colors i used were purple and green so it goes great with my purple poppy tag! I stamped the Friendship sentiment on my panel in brown ink.

I added a little bit of distress ink to my tag because it was very white and didn;t really go with the cream color of the panel, and the antique linen distress ink calmed down the white a bit! I also added some tea stained seam binding to my tag.

I added my tag to my panel with foam dots and last added several sequins to the tag and panel. I adhered the panel to a card base and it was done!! I love how it turned out!!! In a couple days i'll share another card because i couldn't stop with just one purple poppy's!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Home Sweet Home

Hi!!

Today i am sharing a card i made with The Alley Way Stamps new Mrs. Roger's Neighborhood stamp set. I did a little paper piecing with the houses and the tree. I used a 6 x 6 pattern paper pad, and inside it were small journaling cards. Some of them had even smaller patterns that where the perfect size for the houses!

I stamped 3 houses from various patterns, cut them out and assembled the pieces. I also paper pieced a tree from the stamp set, along with a street light. I used a brown marker to ink the edges of my pieces (brown because i stamped everything with brown ink).

Then i added all my elements to my white card base with foam dots. Last i stamped the sentiment Home Sweet Home, also with brown ink and rounded the top corners.

You're Retro

Hi!!

Today i'm sharing another card i made this week! I decided to make a shaped and thought it would go great with these new Penny Black Krafty Kats stamps.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I used a banner die set to make the card, die cutting some pattern paper. I inked the edges of the smaller banner and stamped the sentiment in the top right corner. I stamped the Kat sitting on a retro bike on watercolor paper. I used Distress markers to color the bike and Kat and then i cut her out (my kitty is a gal, i colored her classes, hat and luggage pink!)

I added two stripes of grey card stock across the banner card, then added the Kat and bike with foam dots. I also inked up two wood veneer arrows and placed them around the sentiment. I wrapped black twine around the top of the card and tied it in a knot. Last i stamped Happy Birthday on the inside of the card.

Happy Birthday Flowers & Stripes

Hi!!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!! I'm having a great one!! Tests were taken on Wednesday and no class Thursday or Friday AND the weather has been wonderful!!! So i've been crafty up a storm!! One of the cards i made is for the Cure For The Monday Blues! Here is the inspiration photo:

I saw it for the second time on Facebook and it got me thinking, there are 2 different flower patterns AND a stripe pattern, all in one photo!! I like how even with 3 different patterns they all went together in the room. So i wanted to see if i could do something similar on a card.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts
So i didn;t worry about trying to match the colors, instead i found a pretty flower pattern paper and matched all my inks with it (and i used several different types of ink and colors!). First i stamped a flower like background using Waffle Flower Crafts - Flower Circles stamp. I trimmed the panel a little shy of the card base then before adding it to the card base i inked the edges of the card base with yellow ink.

Then i die cut a tag and with The Alley Way Stamps - Crossing Lines stamp set, stamped the stripes. I added seam binding to the tag, after lightly inking it with yellow ink (it was a little too white).

Next i trimmed the flower pattern paper and a stripe of white card stock and adhered them to my card base. I stamped the Happy Birthday on the tag, then added it to my card base with foam dots.

I really love how it turned out, its 3 patterns on one card and i think it works!!  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thanks & a Hello

Hi there!!

Today i'm sharing 2 cards with you! Recently i was playing with The Alley Way Stamps new July release and i used Pick One to make a 8.5 x 11 pattern paper. I used my silhouette to cut various shapes from the sheet and today i'm sharing 2 cards made with 2 of the shapes. You can check out this post to see another card i made and there will be more cards to come as i use up all the shapes i cut from that one piece of stamped card stock.

From my sheet of card stock i was able to get 2 card fronts (along with a few other shapes). It was super easy to do in the Silhouette software. I opened a square and increased the size to 4.24 x 5.5. Next i opened Big Chatter's SVG and deleted all but the first mat for the Thanks and Hello sentiments. I moved the sentiments to the centers of the card fronts, added my other shapes and cut!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I also cut several of the SVGs for the Pick One set (from plain white card stock). I stamped several of the flowers and leaves in similar colors as my background. I set them aside to use later.

Next i removed the cut sentiments from the card fronts and backed them with a dark pink. Then i stamped the matching sentiments in the window the SVG sentiments made. I adhered the fronts to card bases and rounded the bottom corners.

Last i added a few sequins and a couple of the die cut flowers with foam dots! I'm kind of on the fence on how these cards turned out! Do you ever feel that way?? On one hand i really like them, but on the other i think they are a bit busy! But other ladies have told me its not too busy, but i am sure its a mater of opinion, like all art is!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
