Be Inspired Challenge #59

Hi!!

I'm popping in real quick to share a card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge #59. Its a new challenge with a nice fall theme. For my card i went with the fall colors and used a TAWS set that was on the top of my stamp pile!

I am entering this into Inkspirational Shine Challenge, and yes their is shine on my card (i used perfect pearls). I thought i had taken pictures that would show the shine, but apparently i only thought i did, so later today i'm going to take a picture of the shine and update this post, so check back for my shine proof!!! hehehe!!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
It started with the Tri- Me stamp set and i stamped the triangles all over a white card base with orange, yellow and brown inks. Next i used two different color perfect pearls powders to color the triangles (i used pigment ink so the powders sticks to the ink nicely).

Next i die cut a triangle and used yellow pigment ink to color it. Then i stamped the Just For You in brown ink. With all the triangles shiny i wanted to tone it down a little so i wrapped the card with twine. I also found some wood veneer triangle and added them to the card base. I added the die cut triangle with foam dots and wa-la!

Edited to add this photo! It was hard to get the shine, you can see the copper like shine to the triangles, tilt the card another way and other triangles would shine.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Merry Christmas (yes, again)

Hello!

So its November .... which means December and Christmas is around the corner. I'm ramping up my Christmas card making to prepare for a Holiday Bazaar in the beginning of December so be prepared for lots and lots of holiday/winter cards!!

I am entering this card into Moxie Fab World's Tree-mendous Trees Challenge!
Dana Warren - Kraft paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Today's card started with a background that i made months and months ago, for whatever reason it didn;t work then so it went into my 'extra's bowl.' I pulled it out to use in my on going quest to use up the ton of stuff in my 'extra's bowl.'
Dana Warren - Kraft paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

The background is black and i used a flower from The Alley Way Stamps  Flower Show and stamped it in white ink all over the panel. I pulled out Making Holiday's Bright stamp set and used three triangles to make Christmas trees. I used the swipe technique on the solid triangle.

Dana Warren - Kraft paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I found a white card stock piece and just cut a simple wave into one edge. I added the snow and trees with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner. Last i found some gold washi tape and added a short strip to a card stock piece, then die cut three tiny stars. I added them to the tops of the trees!

Having a background already done sure does speed up the card making processes!! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Merry Christmas

Hello!!

Popping in real quick to share new The Alley Way Stamps creation!! It features this month's Free with a $40 purchase mini stamp: Winter's Butterflies. First of all this card looks much better in person!! It just didn;t photograph well, i tried it with a white background and a red background, and well ... the white background was the better of the two, but not perfect!!

I am entering this card into Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by stamping the snowflakes with a light grey ink, all over my card base. I decided to add a panel of Kraft across the bottom and i used the Christmas sentiment from Making Holiday's Bright a new November stamp set.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

It still needed something so i used the cute robin bird from Chill Out, colored him with a red inktense colored pencil and a Copic colorless blender. I added the kraft panel with foam tape then added the bird after i cut her out.

But, yep you guessed it it still needed something! I used a wink of stella glitter pen on the snowflakes. Not that you can, at all!! But its there!! I swear!!! hehehe!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

You're Tea-riffic

Hello!!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!! I'm sharing a card i made with one of the new The Alley Way Stamps November stamp sets! The Tea Par-tea has the cutest tea cups and tea pot!! I am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday's Challenge - Anything Goes
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
The first inclination when i see tea cups (at least for me) is pink, green and white, so i decided to try something different. It started with some dark brown card stock and white embossing powder, i wasn;t sure how it would turned out but sometimes you just have to try (there is always a trash nearby if it dosen;t work!!) :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by stamping and embossing the tea cups and tea spoon on dark card stock. I wanted some color in the cups, so i stamped them again on pink and green card stock. I cut out the pink flowers (inside the lines, so each piece would fit inside the embossed flower/leaf).

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I found some pattern paper with doilies with a brown background (its like Karma!!!) I also dug out some doilies that were still new in the package, i folded it in half. I added the pattern paper to the top half of and the brown card stock to the bottom half. I placed the doily were the pattern paper meets the card stock.

I stamped the sentiment and embossed it in white along the bottom of the card. I added the tea cups and spoon on the doily.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Nice List

Hello!!

I'm popping in to share i card i made this weekend. I wanted to use some new goodies so i used the My Favorite Things Sketch as inspiration. Here's the Sketch:
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps

I started by die cutting and stamping the three Santa's in MFT Jingle All The Way. Then i used red copics to color the Santa's. If you follow my blog you know i only have have a few colors 3 greens and a couple purple copics. Recently i added a few more to my stash, 3 reds and some skin colors. I figured red was a good color with the Christmas holiday around the corner.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps

I started with the first Santa, but i dropped one of the red markers on it, so it went in the trash. The second Santa i got too far out of the lines in a spot and my colorless blender did not 'push' it back! I also experimented with the skin colors and one color is a bit to dark and didn;t blend well, so that Santa went in the trash. Luckily the last Santa wasn;t too bad! I still have a hard time with the ink bleeding outside the lines, so hopefully with a little practice it will not happen. I used distress markers to color the belt and shoes.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things Stamps

Instead of the rectangles in the sketch i used stitched ovals die and cut them from green card stock. To spice up the ovals, i used a MFT stencil and an opaque pen to outline the chevron pattern of the stencil. I added these to a dark brown card base.

Next i stamped the sentiment on a strip of white card stock and added it to my card base with foam tape. I found a vintage button, tied a twine bow and added it to my card. Last i added the Santa with foam tape and added a little glitter glue to his hat.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Thoughtful and a Winner

Hello,

Today i'm sharing a vintage/fall like card! I actually stamped and colored this image last year just after Christmas when i received the last of the distress markers i was missing. Its been hanging out on my desk and finally thought it was time to use it!!! I am entering this in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I die cut the image with a frame die and then inked the edges. Next i pulled out a panel of watercolor paper and placed a stencil over it. With a fine tip distress marker i traced the stencil. Then i started inking the edges with different distress inks, just working the ink toward the center. It covered up more of the stencil then i planned, but i still like it!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

I stamped the sentiment and added the colored image with foam tape. But i think it still needed it something, i so first pulled out a tiny brown cloths pin. Then i found some fabric that i had dyed with tea at some point. I die cut some small hearts and then added a little more ink to them. I added them to the colored panel with the cloths pin.

And now for my winner from my giveaway last week. I used Random.org to pick the winner:

Congrats,  Carol!!!! Shoot me an email with your mailing address and i'll get the goodies in the mail!! (my email is in my profile!)  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Be Inspired Challenge #58 - Take 2

Hello!!

Today i have my second take for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge!! The inspiration is Halloween, but you don;t have to make a Halloween card (since Halloween was yesterday!!). I didn;t make a Halloween card, or at least i don't think i did. If it has bats, does that make it Halloween??

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Anyway i used the left overs from my last Be Inspired card. I was playing with them and i liked how it looked when i layed the orange layer over the black layer and shifted the orange a little. I backed the two chevrons over a panel of blue card stock.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I glued all the layers together and trimmed off the excess. Next i stamped three bats from the Bumps in the Night set, cut them out and then colored them with a black distress marker. Next i cut out a circle from water colored paper and stamped the sentiment.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I added the bats and circle to the card base with foam tape. Then i adhered the panel to a white card base.

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you will play along with us a the Be Inspired Challenge, you still have plenty of time to submit a card!!
