Hello!
It's time for a new challenge on the
Art Impressions blog!! The challenge is Cards with Movement! Which is perfect for the new
AI Spinner stamps!! The Design Team is featuring the new Spinner stamps so make sure you stop by the AI blog to check out all the great projects!!
My card features the Full Throttle Spinner! I started by using a die to cut a panel from some orange pattern paper. Then i placed an oval die on the pattern paper, holding it down with some washi tape. I placed die and panel over a white card base and sent it through my Big Shot. This way i can cut both ovals at the same time and i know that my panel lines up perfectly with my card base.
Next i stamped the front and back of the spinner on some white cardstock and colored her up with Copic markers. I have some adhesive sheets that have adhesive on both sides and i cut two peices that would cover my images. I peeled one side of the backing off and adhered it to the back of card stock and images. Then i used the matching dies (oh yeah, the Spinners have dies that make it sooo easy!!) to cut out the front and back.
I peeled the adhesive backing off the back image and placed it adhesive side up (the back image is face down on my mat). Then i added some sewing thread to the image, held it taunt and pressed it on the adhesive. Next i took the backing off front piece and matching up the front with the back, the thread is sandwiched in between and of course the adhesive holds both sides together!
Next i added a little adhesive above and below the oval on the white card base and then laid the open card base on my mat. I placed the scooter in the oval and pressed the top thread into the adhesive. Then i pulled the thread and scooter taunt and pressed the thread into the adhesive at the bottom.
Then i adhered the orange panel over my card base, hiding the thread. Next i die cut a small notched banner and stamped the sentiment. I added the banner with foam tape to the bottom of the oval. I thought the card still needed something so i went through my little left over stuff and found some tiny orange, white and pink flowers. They went on the card to either side of the sentiment, as a final touch i used a black marker to add centers to the flowers.
Oh i almost forgot, i added some kraft polka dot paper to the inside of the card, i though it helped show off the spinner!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will play along with us!!
