Hello,
I'm on the Art Impressions blog with another quick card using a scrapbooking pocket kit. You might remember this card set, well I made another card with the same pocket cards from the kit! I pulled out a few of the cards, looking at the different patterns to find help me choose my colors for coloring!
I started by stamping the cute owl from the Birthday Whoot Set on watercolor paper. The distress markers that I matched to the journal cards and used to color the owl are Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Pumice Stone, Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Ground Espresso, Brushed Corduroy.
After coloring the owl I used sharp scissors to fussy cut him out. The scrapbook kit has these cool cut out cards in various shapes and one had a speech bubble. I trimmed off the bottom part of the card, just keeping the speech bubble part of it. I stamped the Look Whoo's Havin' a B-day sentiment in the bubble.
Next, I added the scrapbook card I picked out with numbers running down one side to a white card base. Then I added the owl and the speech bubble to the card with foam tape. And wa-la a super easy card! I recently picked up a couple other pocket kits (on clearance of course!) and I'm sure I;ll me using them before long!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Dana
