Have a Beary Happy Birthday

Hello!!

Today i am sharing a card i made for My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things
The first thing i did was find some text pattern paper. I used the MFT Scattered Bars stencil, laying it over the pattern paper. I mixed some embossing paste and some light pink Distress Paint together and added it to the stencil, amazingly i mixed just enough!!

While the background was drying i cut a stitched rectangle from white card stock. I stamped and masked the two bears from MF's Cool Day stamp set. I colored them with my limited Copic collection. Then i added a little Wink of Stella to the pink bear's scarf and hat, plus added just a tiny amount of glossy accents to each bears noses.

I went through my extra what-not stash and found a banner already cut. I stamped the Have a Beary Happy Birthday sentiment in black. I glanced in my embellishments box and remembered that i have some rustic metal hearts. I cut one off and curled each end.

Last it was just a matter of putting it all together. I added the rectangle with foam dots, then added the banner below. I used some foam dots and glossy accents to adhere the heart.

Grateful For You

Hello!!

Have you noticed it's been a little busy around here?? Well that's because its the end of my winter break (the new semester starts tomorrow) and its so cold its not like i'm going to be out in the garden!! hehehe!! I've been crafting up a storm!! This year my crafty goal is to purge and reorganize and to use the stamps and embellishments that i have! To do that i'm going to play along with more challenges this year (i hope)  :D

Today i have a card to share that i made for two challenges! I made this early this week, but when i went to photograph it, there was something that bothered me about it, so i put it back on my craft table to work on! After a few additions i really like it much better!!!

The first challenge is Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge #38, it is this photo inspiration:
The second challenge is Winnie & Walter's 1st Birthday Celebrations, the Shaker Challenge. These two challenges went together so well! I love the soft pink and confetti in the photo, plus i loved the pink bubbles on top of the cupcakes.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Winnie & Walter
I not very good at shaker cards, the only ones that i am successful at are pocket shakers and when i saw the photo inspiration i got the idea of circle vellum shakers. I die cut 6 circles from vellum card stock. I happened across some circle dies that just cut tiny holes and one fit inside my circles perfectly. These piercing dies are very old from Life Style Crafts back when they were Quick Kutz.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Winnie & Walter

I used some gold thread to stitch up the circles, but before i stitched them closed i added some tiny paper hearts, tiny paper circles (extras from dies, colored with copics), and sequins.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Winnie & Walter

Next stamped the Winnie & Walter sentiment Grateful on vellum and embossed it in gold and then cut it out. I curved the sentiment because i wanted it to curve around one of the shaker circles. I also cut out a few more vellum circles and arranged everything on my card base. I stamped For You below one of the shaker circles.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Winnie & Walter

I found some light pink pattern paper for a background. To adhere the shaker circles i pressed a needle through one of the stitches, then came up from the bottom and then pierced one of the stitched circles and made a stitch over one that was already there. I did it on the opposite side of the circle and then again for the other two shaker circles.

I scattered some sequins over the one layer vellum circles and when i was happy with the arrangement i glued them down on the the circles. Then i added glue to the back of the circles where the sequins are and added them to my panel. I have yet to find any glue or tape that you can;t see with vellum, so when i use it i have to have a way to hide the glue, in this case the sequins! I trimmed off the vellum circles that extended over the edge and last added the panel to a white card base.

I hope everyone is staying warm! Have a great day!!

Winter Hello

Hi there!!

I hope everyone is staying warm! Negative wind chill and snow are never fun!! Looking forward to next weeks highs in the twenty's!!! Today i have a card i made for Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge and Lawnscaping Challenge #97. Both are doing a winter theme challenge, at first i wasn;t going to play along but falling asleep the other night i came up with the idea for this card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I started by by die cutting a stitched rectangle from dark blue and white card stock. I cut the bottom off by cutting a wave or two. Then adhered it to the dark blue rectangle. Next i splattered some white spray ink over the blue rectangle and set it aside to dry.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

Next i made a branch by pulling out a scrap piece of white card stock and cut the bottom slightly wavy. Then i adhered it to a scrap piece of brown card stock and cut the bottom brown edge similarly. I added the branch to my rectangle piece with foam dots.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I stamped the owl from You're a Hoot in white pigment ink on dark blue card stock. Cut him out and added him to the rectangle with foam dots. Next i stamped the small Hello from the A Birdie Told Me stamp set in the bottom right corner of the rectangle panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I was going to add the panel to a white card base but i thought my card base needed something so i pulled out Simon Says Stamps Falling Snow stencil and added a scattering of snow with light grey ink (though i know that it is so light that you can't really see them!). Last i added the rectangle panel with foam dots.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Family

Hello!!

I'm stopping by today to share a card i made for Winnie & Walter's 1st Birthday Bash Challenge. This is for the CAS + Freestyle Collage Technique! First i have to say i am terrible at the Collage style, so i really don't do it,ha!  But i tried real hard and this card is as Collage as i could get. I basically tried putting all sorts of stuff on it, if i didn;t like it, it came off!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Winnie & Walter

The first thing i did was splatter spray inks all over a white card base. I used green, blue and silver. Next i stamped the big Family sentiment from The Big, The Bold and Blessings.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Winnie & Walter

Then i went to town added all sort of different things. I went through my embellishments (i'm reorganizing so they are all currently in one big shipping box that is on the floor) and picked out wood veneer, enamel dots, a 3d flower, chipboard hearts and a couple other things.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Winnie & Walter

As i started arranging things i stamped a few of the small sentiments from the same stamp set. Even though i am not sure if this really Collage, i do like how the card turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Ok, on to the card!! I started with some gold and white polka-dot pattern paper. I stamped the Thank sentiment, then cut out each letter. Next i stamped the U sentiment on white card stock and used some gold Smooches to color in the U.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i used some mint ink and pressed the pad into some white card stock. When i had colored enough of the card stock with the ink, i cut it out with a Simon Says Stamp circle die. This die has one big circle along with lots of tiny dots in a couple different sizes. I cut this die twice.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I found a dark grey card base and just placed my sentiment letters on it. Then i sprinkled lots of the die dots, some i had to turn over, moved some around, added some here and there. Then i glued down each dot (this took a bit of time, but i think it was worth it!!). When the dots where all glued down, i adhered the sentiment letters with foam tape.

Congratulations on your Wedding Day

Hi,

I'm popping in to share a card and some exciting news!!! I'm happy to announce that i have joined the design team at Addicted to Stamps and More!!! I'm so excited and can't wait! They are currently on break, but will be back January 14th! (which will also be my first time joining the team!!) Whoo Hoo!!
Ok on to my card!! I made this for a PC&S call, but since that's not happening i'm sharing it today! My inspiration for this card came from some girls cloths i saw at work. They had an image and certain parts of the image had glitter.
Dana Warren- Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew
I first started by inking up the flowers from Altenew's Painted Flowers. I chose to use three different colors, pink, purple and blue. Then i used three different shades for each color when i stamped each flower. I stamped the flowers randomly around a white card base.

Then i added a liquid glue to select areas of the flower, then covered them with fine glitter. I set it aside to allow the glue to dry.
Dana Warren- Kraft Paper Stamps - Altenew

Meanwhile i cut a few strips of black card stock, then on one of them stamped the Congratulations on Your Wedding Day sentiment and embossed it white. I added these strips across the top part of the card base with foam dots.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope to see you at Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge!!
