Hello!!
This is my second post today, click here if you are looking for my Art Impression post.
Crafter's Companion has a new Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Sketchy Collection! The theme is all about Rock!! The stamp collection is filled with great images and sentiments, perfect for that gal or guy that likes to rock out!!
I started with a Sheena Douglass stencil called Distress Grid. I placed it over a panel of Crafter's Companion water color card stock and used Distress Inks Black Soot and Spiced Marmalade to color in the stencil.
Next I stamped the big old timey microphone from the Sing! set on some CC's white card stock. I used a few Spectrum Noir Markers to add a little bit of shadow to the microphone, IG1, IG2, IG4. Then I fussy cut out the microphone.
I cut a strip of white card stock and stamped the Sing As Though No One Can Hear sentiment. Then I adhered a strip of black stock below the sentiment. I added the sentiment to my inked panel with foam tape and last added the microphone with foam tape too.
Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you stop by Crafter's Companion to check out all the new Sheena Douglass Rock sets!!

Birthday Stacks
Hello!!
I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with a card featuring the new Turtle Stackers and Slider Die! These turtles are so cute and are perfect for any turtle lover out there!! For my card I made it appropriate for a younger boy!
I started with some pattern papers from Elle's Studio - Cameron Collection and used the Slider Die to cut some star paper. On white card stock I stamped the stack of turtles and colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I used CG2, DG2, DG3, GB4, GB6, OR1.
I trimmed the turtles and made a little cover up, then adhered the slider around the turtles. Next I trimmed some pattern paper to fit a chard base. I cut a white circle die and then stamped the matching sentiment.
I added the slider to my card with adhesive and then added the sentiment circle with foam tape. From the Elle's Studio Cameron collection I added a Thumbs Up sentiment circle. Last I added a couple colorful buttons.
These Stackers so adorable and if you haven't tried these yet I hope this encourages you to give them a chance!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Thank You for Everything
Hello!!
Happy Friday!! I home everyone has a great weekend, I am going to enjoy mine, its finally cooling down! I plan on enjoying it since its going to get hot again next week and last for much longer then usual! :(
But anyway today I want to share a card with you. I did some monochromatic coloring and did a tutorial for Crafter's Companion! You can stop by their blog here and check out the tutorial!
It's easy to do, but I picked a detailed stamp so it took me a few days to get it all done!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Art Impressions Challenge #188
Hello!
It's the second week of Art Impression Challenge #188 - Anything Goes! The challenge also celebrates AI's 29th anniversary!! I hope you will play along with us!!
Because of the 29th anniversary I wanted to incorporate 29 on my card and decided to create a background. I pulled out some large number dies and cut them a few times from white card stock. I made three rows of the numbers 29 and adhered them to a white card base, trimming off the over hang.
Next I stamped the image from the Giant Cake Set and colored it with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I used BP4, BP6, BT2, BT4, CT2, CT4, EB5, EB6, EB8, DR1, DR5, FS2, FS3, GB8, HB2, HB3, IG4, IG6, IG8, IG10, JG2, OR2, OR3, TB6, TB7, TN7, TN8. Then I fussy cut out the image.
I cut a strip of black card stock and white embossed the sentiment from the Happy 29th Wood Stamp available from Hobby Lobby. With scotch tape I masked off bottom part of the sentiment. I added this strip across the card base and then added the image with foam tape.
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you will play along with us!!

Flaunt It
Hello
I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with two cards that feature the new Girlfriends Flaunt It Set! For both cards I used Distress Markers and paper piecing to color the the girlfriends (they sure are having a lot of fun!!). I used two different pattern paper pads for each card and gave darker skin coloring a try!!
I started both cards by cutting stitched rectangles from watercolor card stock and then stamped the image on both panels. I picked out some pattern paper for their dresses and fussy cut them all out, but before I added them I colored their skin, hair and accessories with my Distress Markers.
I was working on the first panel and had colored two of the girls with Tattered Rose when I thought maybe I should give a darker skin tone a try! So on a scrap piece of paper I stamped the faces and arms of the women and then experimented with different colors. On the pink card I used Gathered Twigs along with the Tattered Rose. For the yellow card I Gathered Twigs for the woman on the left, Vintage Photo for the woman in the middle and Ground Espresso for the woman on the right. I think all these colors worked great for dark skin. Also if I want a more tan look, I will go over with the Tattered Rose again!
Once my coloring is done I added the paper piecing to each panel. For the pink card I cut a bigger stitched rectangle the Simple Stories - Vintage Bliss paper pad and added it to a white card base. I also trimmed a journal card and added it next, trimming off the over hang. I added the stamped panel and then a few enamel dots.
For the yellow card I trimmed some pattern paper strips from Fancy Pants Park Bench paper pad. I added the strips across a white card base. Then I added the stamped panel with foam tape and then I stamped one of the sentiments at the lower right. Last I added a few black enamel dots.
Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks You Sweet Thing
Hello!
I'm stopping by today with a card I made for Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #49. The challenge this week is Come Color With Us, to help support Kathy Racoosin 30 Daily Color Challenge. I don't always color every single day but usually several days during the week!
I started with Simon Says Stamp You're So Sweet stamp set, stamping all the fruit in the set on some white card stock. Then I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color them up. I used: CG2, CR8, CR10, CR11, DG2, DG3, DR1, DR3, DR5, GB3, OR2, OR3, TB6, TB7, TB9 and True Black.
Next I fussy cut out the fruit. I have the matching die, but I didn't want the white border around these fruit. I found some black pattern paper from a summer pad and I trimmed a panel to fit a card base. Then I cut out a strip from the panel.
I added the two panels to the card base leaving a white strip of the card base between the two panels. In this strip I stamped the sentiment from the You're So Sweet set. Last I added the fruit above the sentiment with foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Joy
Hello!!
HSN is having a 24 hour craft day today and Crafter's Companion will be on several times today!! They are showcase lots of new products, including their new Gemini, an electronic die cutting machine. This machine and new products are available tomorrow, most will be available on CC's but not for a few months at least!
Today's project features Leonie Pujol stamps and mask!! There are a few different stamps and masks/stencils that will be on HSN today. My project uses the Joy Stencil & Mask Set and Feathery Flourish, Tangled Tails and Branching Out stamp sets.
I picked up this simple frame at the craft store on clearance and first I pulled out the backing board and measured it. Then I cut a piece of water color card stock to theses measurements. Next I pulled out the small flower and leaf stamps from the different stamp sets.
With the Joy mask (its clear plastic) I laid it over the middle of my water color panel, then with versamark ink I stamped the different flowers. I did a little bit at a time, stamping here and there where the mask meets the paper, then I would add white embossing powder, heat it and then start again. I continued to do this all around the mask.
When I was done stamping and embossing I used a little bit of Tombow liquid glue on the mask. I let the glue dry, this made the mask sticky and I pressed it to my paper. Now my mask would stay in place while I added ink around it. To remove I just pulled up the mask and rubbed away a few spots of dried glue.
I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Mustard See Distress ink, starting with the pink in the middle, then the orange and finally the yellow. Next I used a paint brush and clean water and flicked water all over my panel. Once the water was dry I removed the mask and placed it in my frame!
Thanks for stopping by!! Make sure you stop by HSN today and check out all the great new products available from Crafter's Companion!
