Spectrum Noir Colorista Post It Note Cover

Hello!

Today I am sharing a project I made with new Spectrum Noir Colorista products! These products are geared toward the Adult Coloring market, but you don't have to be into coloring books to like these products!! This project was made with a part of one page in one of the new SN Colorista coloring pads.

I first used a part of the sheet on this card, there was still a lot of sheet left so I decided to cover a big Post-It note pad to take with me this semester. I still had a little bit left over and used that to make another card that I will share with you in a couple days!

My Post-It notepad measures 6 x 4 inches and I have used about half of the paper or so. It was part of a pack of 3. This cover was super easy to make and would work for any size Post-It note pad! I trimmed my colored sheet to the size of my pad, doubling the 4 and added 1/4 inches to account for the cover.

Since my pad is thin, I scored at 4 inches and again at 4 1/4. If your pad is thicker just measure it and add the measurement to your overall length.

I used double sided tape to adhere the notepad to the cover. When I use all the pages, I'll just adhere another pad on top!

Because I plan on taking this notepad with me to class (for quick notes in class and at the library) and the pad would  probably end up in my textbook or need to slip it into my backpack, I kept the cover embellishment free! I don't want to add embellishments just to have them pop off!

I even think the inside or the back of the coloring sheet is pretty! But if you think differently you can always line the sheet before adding the notepad!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Art Impressions & Spectrum Noir Coloring

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today !!! Do you need a birthday or just because card for that special guy in your life?? Especially one who kills bugs for you? If so, then the Bug Buster stamp set is perfect for you!! There are a few other hero's in this group, maybe your guy will fit them better!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
First, I stamped the image on white card stock, then it's time to color him up. However, this time I didn't what to will-nilly color him. So, I pulled down my 6 x 6 paper pads and found some pattern paper that I liked and I matched my Spectrum Noir markers to the paper. I used BGR3, BGR4, BGR5, DR3, DR5, DR6, EB1, EB2, EB6, FS1, FS3, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, IG8, IG10, TN7, TN8, TN9. When I was done coloring I fussy cut out the Bug Buster.

From the paper pad I used a stitched banner die and cut two and layered the striped one on the blue layer. At the top of the banner, I stamped the sentiment.

Next, I adhered the layered banners on a white card base and then added the Bug Buster with foam tape. Last I found some cork dots and added a few to the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello!!!

Welcome to my blog! If you are coming from the fabulous Mari Kocjancic, you are in the right place! If you just stopping by my blog, you can start at the beginning at Spectrum Noir!

Have you seen the peeks of a great new line from Spectrum Noir??? If not, it's called Spectrum Noir Colorista and its the latest and greatest in the Adult Coloring crafting segment!!! This new collection is debuting August 30th on HSN!!!

Spectrum Noir even has a free online coloring class!! Check it out here! It's free!!! Also, make sure you comment all along the hop, a Colorista Prize Pack is up for grabs!!!

Here is the schedule (subject to change)

The Colorista collection includes so many great products!! Awesome coloring pads (some with colorable glitter!!!), alcohol markers (these have finer points than the Spectrum Noir Markers), colored pencils and more!!!

My card features the Colorista Markers and a page I colored from the Eastern Promises coloring pad. I actually made 2 cards and a Post It note cover from this one page. I'll be sharing the other card and cover later this week!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

It all started with coloring the sheet, included in the color pad is a blank sheet that you can use to protect the page below the one you are working on. I used the Colorista Markers to color the sheet, they are alcohol and very similar to the Spectrum Noir Markers. The Colorista Markers have two tips, both have a much finer point than the SN Markers. They blend just like the SN markers. These Colorista Markers are great too if you are thinking about getting the SN Markers, a great way to try them out!!

After coloring my page I pulled out a few circle dies and cut the circles from the page. Next, I pulled out a black card base and played around with the circle placement. When I was happy with it I heat embossed a sentiment on the card base in white.

Next, I added the circles to the card with foam tape and trimmed off the overhang! A very easy card made with a coloring sheet!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will stop by later this week for two more projects I made with the remaining colored sheet!! Your next stop in the hop is the awesome Nicole Bretherick!!

Emboss Risist & Watercolor

Hello!!

This is my second card today, it's my day on the Art Impressions blog sharing a card featuring wobbles and a spinner!

This card I made for Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge - Embossing! I used SSS Falling Hearts background for my embossing and the Magical Birthday (this year's free birthday set) stamp set.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp
I started by heat embossing the hearts with white powder. When I pressed the stamp onto the watercolor paper I pressed too hard and the rubber around the lower hearts also pressed versamark ink into the paper. At first, I was going to try to wipe away the powder, but I finally decided that I liked how it looked circling the hearts!

Next, pulled out my Zig Kuretake Gansai watercolors and made a rainbow with them. While that was drying I stamped the Unicorn from the Magical Birthday set. I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it and then fussy cut it out.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Simon Says Stamp
I cut a strip of white card stock and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment, then adhering it to my watercolored panel. I added the unicorn with foam tape and then pulled out a few bright buttons and white sequins. When I was happy with their placement I used a liquid adhesive to adhere them in place. Last I added the panel to a black card base.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!
