I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I did a little organizing and made a few cards! Today i am sharing one that i made for Art Impressions Tie It Up Challenge #154. I got the idea for my card from those car commercials that pop up around Christmas, you know the ones with big red bows on a car and the spokesperson tries to tell you that a car is a great Christmas present! (sure it is, IF your a billionaire!!)
So i thought it would be cute to tie up the plane from AI's Michael's stamp set (there is no stamp set name on the packaging), it would be a great card to give to a little boy with a passion for planes! Especially if you happen to also be giving him a give of a toy plane!!
I started by stamping the plane image with memento ink. Also a little tip for you, have you used similar clear stamps that the ink looks blotchy when you stamp it? Well i have tip that fixes that and its super easy. Here is a picture of the plane image, the one on the right is stamped with black memento ink, a little blotchy, right? On the left, i inked up the stamp first with versamark ink and then inked it again with memento ink, a much smoother stamped image, huh? The versamark ink helps to spread out the ink!
Ok anyway, on to my card! I colored the plane red, and in hindsight i should have colored it blue, but what can you do?!?! :D I used mostly Copic markers except for the black and grey, i used distress markers for those colors. Then i cut out the plane and just the plane, i saved the couple in the plane, figured i might use them another time!
Next i stamped Happy Birthday from AI's Out to Lunch stamp set, in black ink on the red pattern paper. I also added a couple buttons to the bottom left. Last i added the plane with foam tape.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

ReplyDeleteGreat cut of paper for this! Love the buttons and twine and the cute plane!
ReplyDeletePerfect papers for that cute plane! I think all cars (and planes) should come tied up in a bow!
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea to cut out the image and just use the plane! I never would have thought to do that! Thanks or joining us in our current challenge over at Art Impressions!
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific! I love the plane in red :) And Versamark is seriously magic for making other inks take well - love that stuff :) (As a side note on the not having red ribbon - honestly, I'm sure you're like me and always seem to have every colour of whatever supply....except the one you need RIGHTNOW).
