Hello!
I hope everyone had a great week! Finally it's the weekend!! Yay!! I hope to do some crafting and tons of studying this weekend!!! Today's card features a stencil and a new way to use it!!
I used Crafter's Companion Sheena Douglass's Wild Flower stencil and placed it on a panel of white water color paper. I used some washit tape to hold down the stencil, but i just placed it on the side (also include a little bit of the card stock if you can), this way i can open the stencil like a book.
Next i pulled out my Spectrum Aqua Markers, Orchid, Wildflower and Moss. For this card i used the fine tip of the marker, just another way to stretch your supplies!! With the stencil over the card stock i used the fine tip to trace a few parts of the stencil. You don;t want the ink to dry, so only do a few areas at a time. Next take a wet paint brush and lift the stencil and add water to the inside of the area you trace. With the brush pull the ink around the edges to the inside. If i used a little bit too much water i would wait for it to dry just a bit before closing the stencil to do the next little bit.
This particular stencil dosen;t have a ton of open areas, but for the smaller stems and such, i just got lines and dots in some areas. I still added some water to those areas to soften the lines.
Since the card is all about the water coloring i decided to keep the rest of the card simple. I wrapped some black twine a few times around the panel. Some twine can be a bit hairy, and if you don;t like that just trim some (or a lot) of those stray little hairs that twine can have! This is what i did with this card! Next i stamped the Thinking of You sentiment from CC's Stamp It Australia Dreamy Daisies stamp set. Last i a just adhered the panel to a white card base!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
