Anyway today day's card features the shark from Somethings Fishy! I really like sharks, i think they get a bad rap and too many are killed just because they are doing what sharks do naturally, eat!! So i had to do up a card using the shark image!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by stamping the shark on some watercolor paper, then used a grey distress marker with a touch of black to color the shark. I fussy cut him out and set him aside.

Next i cut a circle from water color paper and used an ink applicator to add blue ink to the circle. I made the bottom darker and faded it out to the top. Next i used plain water to add some random water droplets, let that dry then added opaque white spray ink droplets.

When the circle was dry i added the shark with foam tape, then adhered the circle with foam tape to a white card base. I stamped the sentiment below the circle and last rounded the cards corners!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

My card is featuring the new Girlfriends Shop Set!!! This set has a few ladies running holding packages and sale flyer's, plus a three great sentiments!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I started by die cutting a panel from water color paper. I stamped the ladies on the panel leaving some space on the left side. Next i colored the ladies with distress markers, adding color were i wanted the color the darkest and used water and a paint brush to spread the color out.

Then i used a wavy die to trim off the excess panel that wasn;t stamped. I found a pink card base that matched my coloring and i added the panel with foam tape to it.

Then i stamped the sentiment 'Shopping is my Cardio', it fit perfectly in the wave. Last i found some enamel dots that matched and added them to my card!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello!!

Mother's Day is just around the corner and i wanted to share a nice and easy card that can be quickly made for your Mother!! When i started i had something else in mind, but after 3 tries i figured it wasn;t going to work and that i need some new cutting plates for my big shot!!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by die cutting a panel from watercolor paper, then i stamped First Bloom Window with black versafine pigment ink. I messed up the stamping so i turned it over and stamped it better the second time!! LOL!!! Hey, it happens, and the back is just as good as the front!!

To color the Window i used Spectrum Aqua markers (floral set), they are new to me and this was my first time using them. I did use some distress markers for the pots and to deepen the color of the bunny.

Since my other die cutting wasn;t working to spice up the card i added a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella to the flowers. Next i stamped the Mother's Day sentiment from the FDMD Set. With a pink marker and water i colored in the hearts at the sentiment.

Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #143

Hello!!

It's time for a new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More!! The challenge this week is Holiday's!! Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and i am using the Spring Bird digital stamp. Make sure you play along with us for your chance to win 7 digi stamps!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Bugaboo Stamps
I started by resizing the spring bird in Word, then i added my own sentiment, Happy Mother's Day. I picked out  fancy font from Word and moved the bird around until i liked the layout of the bird and sentiment. Then i printed it out and colored it up with Copic markers. I didn;t color the bird with any kind of bird in mind, if it matches a real bird out there it was not intentional!! hehehe!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Bugaboo Stamps

I cut the bird out with a stitched rectangle. Next i wrapped some brown bakers twine around one side of the rectangle and tied it in a bow. Then i added a few glitter gems around the bird.

Next i found some pattern paper that matched the brown bakers twine, but i wanted it to be a little lighter so i went over the paper with a white pigment ink. This muted the paper nicely. I added the pattern paper to a white card base and last added the bird panel with foam tape!

Make A Splash

Hello!!

How is everyone doing? It was very nice Sunday and i spent the whole day outside working in the garden! I wanted to get a few things done, but well the sunshine and fresh air was calling my name!! We a bit of rain coming, so that will be good for the seeds i planted!! And while its raining i can be inside catching up!! LOL!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Anyway today i am sharing a card featuring  The Alley Way Stamps ! i am using a couple of the new May release stamps Something's Fishy and Gill-Friend (this months free set with a $40 purchase). I am also entering this over at Craft Your Passions Challenges - Always Anything Goes!

I started by making my background, i pulled out some shimmer card stock in three different shades of aqua. I placed a stencil over each one and used 3 different shades of blue ink to lightly ink the wave stencil.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i die cut bunch of circles from each of the three colors, i also used three different sized circles! Apparently i had a thing for 3s that day!! hehehe!! When everything was cut i adhered them to a white card base.

Then i stamped the cute dolphin from Gill-Friend on some water color paper. I used one of the blue inks i used on the background to stamp the dolphin, then used a grey distress marker to color him up. I cut him out and then used a similar colored distress marker to ink the edges.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I cut a strip of grey card stock and stamped a few water drops and the Make A Splash sentiment, then embossed them with white embossing powder! Then i added the grey strip and dolphin to my card with foam dots.

Art Impressions & Tombow Blog Hop

Hello!!

Welcome to the Art Impressions & Tombow Blog Hop!!

You should have gotten here from Beth Watson's blog but if you stumbled across my blog stop by the Art Impressions' Blog to start! My post is photo heavy, but i think its worth it!! :)

For my project i made a present shaped card. I started with a present cut file that i manipulated to make a card. I cut the base from white card stock and the different pieces from a pattern paper pad.

To assemble my card i first scored a line on the back piece about an inch and half from the top. Next i used Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. This glue is great when you need a really good strong hold!

While my card base dried, i stamped and colored my image, but i'll go into a little more detail in just a second. I cut a some strip paper for the present and used Tombow Mono Permanent Adhesive, you can see i used it on the back of side of the pattern paper.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions & Tombow

I used the same adhesive for the pattern piece for the lid of the present.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions & Tombow

Next i used the Multi Liquid glue to add the three bow pieces to the card. It works great with smaller pieces that the tape runner is too big for.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions & Tombow

Next i wanted to cover the point where the ribbon pieces come together, i don;t like how it looked. So i found a grey button from my stash. To adhere it i used Tombow's New Adhesive Dots, which works great with adhereing embellishments!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions & Tombow

Last i just needed to adhere the stamped panel. While my card base was drying i stamped Art Impressions Girlfriends Out to Lunch set. I used distress markers, water and a paintbrush to color the image. Next i stamped the 'Happy Birthday' above the two ladies.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions & Tombow

I added three strips of Tombow Foam Tape to the back of my stamped panel and adhered it to the center of the present card.

And here are a few pictures of the finished card!! It was really fun to make! Using a cut file cuts down on the time and the adhesives are so easy to use! And of course doing some fun coloring!!
