Dana Warren -Kraft Paper Stamps

I placed a feather stencil over a white card base, holding it in place with some washi tape. Then i used Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist ink to fill in the feathers. Next i placed another stencil on top, this time a Chevron pattern stencil.

With PTI's Ocean tide i added ink to just some of the Chevrons, using washi tape to mask off areas i didn't want inked. Then i used Waffle Flower's Spring Ink set, the Pretty Peony color to ink other Chevron areas.

Next i needed a sentiment so i pulled out Lil' Inkers Darling Diamonds stamp set and stamped the Thanks in black ink. Then i added a few enamel dots and last rounded the top two corners.

Hello

Hi There!

Happy Monday!! Today i'm sharing a fun spring card using a Christmas stamp set! I pulled out some pretty pattern paper by Simple Stories and really wanted to use it, kind of a nice pick me up from the brown and white winter!

I decided to use Crafter's Companion Sheena Douglass Christmas Visitors stamp set. It has has two great birds that can be used for any occasions!! I stamped the bird standing on the shovel handle in Distress Ink Antique Linen to do no line coloring.

I stamped the image on CC's water coloring card stock and then used my Spectrum Aqua Markers to color it in. I used Spice, Peach, Terracotta, Slate, Charcoal, Orange, Jasmine and Sepia. To keep the colors light and soft i first scribbled them on a clear block and used water and a paintbrush to color the image. Since the lines from the image disappeared with the coloring i added in some details with the fine tip of the markers. Then i fussy cut out the image.

Next i found some journaling cards in the paper pad and decided to go with the Hello card, trimmed it down a little  And added it to the flower pattern paper with foam tape. Then i added the image with foam tape and to add a little something i fussy cut out a few of the flowers from the pattern paper and added them with foam tape. Then the whole panel went on a white card base!

Thank You

Hello!

I'm popping in with a Thank You card that i whipped up so i could get it in the mail! I also did some upcycling with this card. The pretty Kraft cut out actually came from a thank you card that my mom received in the mail. I new it would be great on a card!!

I wanted to the Kraft cut piece to really stand out, so i picked out some Crafter's Companion Shimmering Card Stock, Candy Red and added it to a white card base. Then i adhered the Kraf piece on top.

Next i stamped Sheena Douglass's Monarch butterfly in brown ink. I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens, Red Berry and Solar Red to color the butterfly. Then i fussy cut the butterfly out.

I cut a strip of Kraft card stock and found some red alpha stickers to spell out Thank You on the strip. Then i added the strip to my card and last added the butterfly. When the butterfly was dry i fluffed the butterfly wings !

Art Impressions Challenge 178 - Shake, Rattle & Roll

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge 178 - Shake, Rattle & Roll, make a card or project that shakes, rattles or rolls!! My card features the new Birthday Fairy Shaker set! I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamps Wednesday's Challenge - Anything Goes.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by cutting a panel of water color card stock and placed the stamp on top, along with the star wand die. With a pencil i lightly marked were the star would fall with the fairy holding it. Then with some water and Worn Lipstick Distress ink, i pained a cloud of pink. When it was dry, i added sparkle with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.

Then i stamped the Fairy on white card stock and one some pattern paper. I fussy cut out her dress and then used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color her skin and hair. The stamp set comes with a die that matches the bottom of her dress, i cut that out and stamped the bottom dress. I added the pattern paper i fussy cut, then attached the bottom dress to the stamped image with a wobble. The set comes with a wobble, but if you need more Art Impressions sells packs of them, click here to see the different quantities you can get!

Next i fussy cut out the birthday fairy, of course adding the top part of her dress too!! The set comes with a star wand die and i cut that out of watercolor paper. I used my Moonlight Sparkle Pen to color the star, then a grey SN marker to color the handle. To add even more sparkle i used Moonstone on the Fairy's wings, along with a wet paint brush to lighten it up a bit.

To the bottom of my water color panel i added some pink pattern paper that was in the paper pad i used for the dress, how i new it would match the pink i had already picked out, i do not know!!! Along the top of the pink i added a strip of star washi tape. Next i stamped the sentiment at the left and then added the fairy to the right.

For her wand, before i added her to the card i used my craft knife to cut a slit above her thumb. Then i was able to add the wand in that slit, helping it to look like she is holding it even more! Last i added the panel to a white card base!

Thinking of You

Hello!

I hope everyone had a great week! Finally it's the weekend!! Yay!! I hope to do some crafting and tons of studying this weekend!!!  Today's card features a stencil and a new way to use it!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I used Crafter's Companion Sheena Douglass's Wild Flower stencil and placed it on a panel of white water color paper. I used some washit tape to hold down the stencil, but i just placed it on the side (also include a little bit of the card stock if you can), this way i can open the stencil like a book.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Next i pulled out my Spectrum Aqua Markers, Orchid, Wildflower and Moss. For this card i used the fine tip of the marker, just another way to stretch your supplies!! With the stencil over the card stock i used the fine tip to trace a few parts of the stencil. You don;t want the ink to dry, so only do a few areas at a time. Next take a wet paint brush and lift the stencil and add water to the inside of the area you trace. With the brush pull the ink around the edges to the inside. If i used a little bit too much water i would wait for it to dry just a bit before closing the stencil to do the next little bit.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
This particular stencil dosen;t have a ton of open areas, but for the smaller stems and such, i just got lines and dots in some areas. I still added some water to those areas to soften the lines.

Since the card is all about the water coloring i decided to keep the rest of the card simple. I wrapped some black twine a few times around the panel. Some twine can be a bit hairy, and if you don;t like that just trim some (or a lot) of those stray little hairs that twine can have! This is what i did with this card! Next i stamped the Thinking of You sentiment from CC's Stamp It Australia Dreamy Daisies stamp set. Last i a just adhered the panel to a white card base!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
