Hi!
I'm popping in again today with a card for Winnie & Walter's WCMD Challenges. I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Watercolors. If you are looking for my TAWS post, click here.
For this card i played along with the Unexpected Stamping Challenge. I pulled out the outline moon from Waffle Flowers Starry Night set and decided to make a background out of it. To help with the 'unexpected' part i stamped the moon multiple times with versamark ink on watercolor paper. BUT i didn;t emboss each moon as i went, but waited till the end. So i had no idea where i had already stamped the moon.
Once the moon was stamped and embossed i used blue watercolor to add a light blue wash over the entire panel. Then i went back with more blue watercolor and randomly added darker color to different areas of the panel.
Once the panel was dry i added a sticker that says You Can't Get Too Much Winter in the Winter. - Robert Frost. This was from an old, old sticker sheet (i'm trying to use up my old stickers and embellishments). Next i used the die cut Winter from a Winnie & Walter cut file and added it to my card. I also added a few sequins and wood veneer snowflakes.
Thanks for stopping by!!
Dana

I love this! LOVE the random stamping and the gorgeous watercoloring!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love the background!
ReplyDeleteSo well done! I love the background and you've complimented it with perfect accents!
ReplyDeleteDana, what a WONDERFUL idea to stamp without knowing where you've already been! I've always thought of that as a negative, but you've used it as a positive. Awesome. Really love the look you got, too, with the blue wash darker in certain areas. Just a really great card you came up with! So glad you joined the Winnie & Walter WCMD challenge!!
ReplyDeleteStamping that way is such a neat idea!! I've got to try it with an outline stamp like this :)
ReplyDelete(And that quote...well, I think we all know THAT'S not quite true, but lol!)
What an amazingly gorgeous card, Dana. I love your watercolor BG and the haphazard stamping of the circles turned out beautifully. The sentiment is cool too.
ReplyDeleteOMGorgeous! Random stamping/embossing, but brought into stunning harmony with your water-colouring (excuse me...off to gaze in admiration for a couple minutes...). Winter, with the Frost quote subtitle, is splendid, as are the embellishments you've added (off for more gazing). Dana, this is a knock-out! Total winner in my books. LOVE it!!
