Hi there!!
Today i'm sharing two cards, yep ... two cards!! Lawnscaping Challenge Blog is having a design team call, so i'm give it a go! A long shot, but well you never know!! I got to playing and couldn't stop with just one card!! The challenge is to show your style! Yeah... my style... i really don;t know how to describe my style. I lean CAS, but not always. I like to color, do different techniques, layer... When i make cards i do what i like to do and i don;t really worry about it fitting in a particular style. :D
I'm going to keep my description short and sweet! I first made a card with a fall color scheme. I inked up the tree branch with a light brown pigment ink, then inked the edges with a darker brown ink. I did the same thing with the owl, only used orange and brown inks. I used the matching die cut for the owl and a stitched rectangle for the branch.
I found some pattern paper that looked a little fallish to me and cut it with a large stitched rectangle. I wrapped some twine around it and tied it into a bow. I added the panel to an orange card base.
Last i added the stamped panel (i added a brown arrow next to the owl). The arrow points to the sentiment that i stamped below the panel.
For my second card i stamped the Lawn Fawn Quinn's ABCs and spelled out Merry. I colored the letters red, then added glue, then red glitter. Once the glue was dry i cut out the letters.
Next i stamped, colored and cut out the birds. I was originally going to place the letters and birds on a white card base, but i spied a Kraft card base and really like them on it. Before adding everything i stamped tiny hearts with versamark ink and then embossed them with clear embossing powder.
Before i added the letters and birds with foam tape i masked and stamped Christmas on my card base.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Dana

ReplyDeleteLove these! The paper on the first is perfect, and I love the sparkle on the alphas in the second!
ReplyDeleteThese are both adorable & so different! I think that fact showcases your style very well - and your description. You do what you like! Good luck with the DT call - they'd be lucky to have you :)
ReplyDeleteWell, if I had a design team, you'd be on it for sure, simply because your style is 'versatility'! You're right on the mark in describing the way you play around with all kinds of things, and in my view, that's what makes your blog and cards such a delight to visit! Both your cards certainly convey your 'flexibility' - they're amazing! Fingers crossed for you. Oh yes...check out Inkspirational and bring your owl to the gallery!
