To hold you over i'm showing a card i made last week with some Waffle Flower stamps!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I started with a white card base and stamped the star background the Bowtiful stamps set. I inked the stars up with grey ink, then without inking stamped them again. I did this all over the card base.

Next i used used a stencil and watercolor crayons to make the multi-colored polk-a-dots. To see how i did this you can check out this post, here. This little piece was one of my experiments before i did the two cards on the other post!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I stamped my sentiment, also from the Bowtiful stamp set over my polk-a-dots. I added this panel at an angle over my card base with foam dots. And last to add a little sparkle (or in this case, shine!!) i randomly added tiny silver stars!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you will join me and the other Design Team ladies for Waffle Flower's first Challenge on the 15th!!

Be Inspired Challenge #53 - Take 2

Hi!!

Today i'm stopping by with another card The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge #53! Check out the Be Inspired Blog for all the challenge details, you have another week to play for a free stamp!!!

Also i want to remind everyone about the special Alley Way Stamps Birthday Video Blog Hop going on!! You have until June 15th to get in on the prize!! Check out my post here, for details!!!

This is the photo inspiration:

When i sat down to make these i thought about some watercolor crayons i have and how i could use them with a stencil. I sat down with a piece of scrap watercolor paper and tried it out two ways! I loved both, so i decided to make two cards!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

So for both cards i cut watercolor paper to match my card base. For both panels i placed the polk-a-dot stencil over each panel and used my watercolor crayons to color in the holes. I followed the ROYGBV colors, started with red and violet at the ends and working my way in with the other colors.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

The difference between each panel is in how i added water! For this first card (the Thanks a Million card) i left the stencil in place and then added the water, dragging the water around the stencil and the panel. Some water gets behind the stencil, but i liked how that made the polk-a-dots bigger and more messy looking!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

For the second card (the Sending A Little Hello) i removed the stencil then with a flat, wide paint brush added water from the top to the bottom, blending the watercolor crayons. They both started out the same, but both have a different look depending on the water application!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

After the panels were dry, i stamped the sentiments. For the big Hello and Thanks i stamped them in black then added clear embossing powder. I decided to keep the cards simple to show off the background more!! For the Hello card i stamped the tiny heart from Big Chatter and added black glitter glue to each hart. For the Thanks card i just adhered black sequins, cup down!

Once everything was dry i added each panel to a card base!! I love how these turned out and using a very simple technique!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Wings to Fly

Hi there!!

I'm popping in quick again for a card i made for The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. This challenge is called Something Simple, i kept the simple part along with the white on white in mind when i made the card.

I stared by stamping a butterfly from The Alley Way Stamps Fly By set all over my white card base. I used a soft grey ink, then i added just a little shading to the butterflies with a grey Copic marker.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i die cut a tag die and stamped the sentiment from Fly By, in the same grey ink. I found some silver and white washi tape that i folded over and added it to my tag with a silver eyelet. I also stamped an extra butterfly, cut it out and added it to the tag with foam dots.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Last i added the tag to my butterfly card base with foam dots. Nice and simple and a whole lota white!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Wedding Day

Hiya!!

I'm popping in with a card i made several months ago i think! I remember when i was making this card i wanted to use some pattern paper and a new stamp set, Painted Flowers from the new stamp company Altenew.

It started with the pretty pink and grey flower pattern paper i found in my stash. I die cut a desktop file die from watercolor paper. I used grey ink to stamp just the outlined flowers. I also stamped the sentiment from Altenew's Ori Kami in grey ink.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i played with my ink pads to get a pink that would match the flowers on the pattern paper. I tried to be 'messy,' you know that not perfect look, which is really hard for me because i like smooth shading and coloring!! I also colored the leaves grey like the pattern paper flowers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I added the pattern paper to my card base and then found 3 grey strips in my extra do-dad bowl that matched!! Score!! I added them to my card along the bottom, then added the stamped and colored file with foam dots. Last i added a few grey enamel dots!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Butterfly Hello

Hi!!

I'm popping in super quick to share a card i made with The Alley Way Stamps June Release stamps!! These are awesome sets and will be showing more cards that i've made with them! But i have a test today so i have to do this post fast (i typed it up last night!!)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I started with a white card base and inked up one of the stamps from Crossing Lines. I was stamping away and decided not to go all the way up the card base. Next i pulled out the big Hello from Big Chatter and i inked it up with PTI Kraft ink, but i didn't really like it with the stripes that are Fine Line, so i stamped the sentiment again, just off center with brown ink. Much better!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i stamped a butterfly from the new Fly By set. I used a red distress marker to add a little shading to the wings. I cut it out and added it to my card base with foam tape.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Last i added a few clear sequins. I never know where to put sequins, there's the rule of 3, balance of the card, all these things to think about! It tends to take me forever to decide where to put them!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I hope everyone has a great day!! Once this test is over i can breath a little more and catch up and hopefully get ahead!!! I have a long list to get done this weekend!!

Happy Dad's Day!

Hi!!

So Father's Day is coming up and i have the gift (yep, for once i'm ahead of the game!!) and to make sure it gets out in the mail in time i whipped up a quick card! Now i have a couple Father's Day stamps, but that would mean digging through my collection!! (hey what can i say, i;m kind of lazy, and my head is full of confusion sin, cosine, tangent and other pointless precalculus stuff and i just don't want to dig around!!) But my TAWS stamps are right next to me hanging on a shelf, so to keep it quick i used a sentiment set and a alpha set to quickly stamp my sentiment!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

So to start i used the spotted squares from the TAWS set Spotted. I stamped them all the way up and down my card base in brown ink. Next i found a strip of white card stock, that i placed it over my card base at an angle..... i liked so i went with it!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I stamped the robot from Bot Time, in brown ink. I used a brown inktense colored pencil to just draw a line around a few particular parts of the bot, then spread the pencil a little with a Copic colorless blender (FYI: will stain your nib).

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i stamped the Happy from Jibber Jabber, then spelled out Dad's with Gabfest and stamped that in red ink. Then stamped day in brown ink. I added my panel to my card base with foam dots and last added 3 red enamel dots (to go with my red Dad!)

And wa-la!! A quick and easy card that looks pretty darn cool, if i don;t say so myself!! :D LOL

I hope you stop by The Alley Way Stamps today and check out the inspirations from a few of the TAWS Design Team ladies!!!

Have a good one!!
