Hello!
It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge 189! The challenge is Sweet Sumer Time, just play along with a summer themed card or project!! And boy it's really summer, its been super hot here in Michigan, I'm ready for fall! (Yes, I said it!!! LOL!!)
I started with the image from the Stayin' Afloat stamp set, stamping it on white card stock and with black ink. Then I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color the image. I used CT2, CT4, DR1, DR5, EB6, FS2, FS3, GB8, HB2, HB3, IG1, IG6, IG8, IG10, OR2, OR3, TN7, TN8. When I was done I fussy cut out the image.
Next, I needed some waves for floating ladies! I placed a wave stencil by Simon Says Stamp over a panel of watercolor paper. I only wanted the bottom part of the panel to be waves, so I used washi tape to mask off the top half of the stencil, then I inked on Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress Ink.
I decided I didn;t want to leave the top part of the panel blank, so I found some cool sun pattern paper and used the stencil to trace the top part of my inked wave. I trimmed off along the line I made so then I added the paper, lining up the wave with my cut wave. Then I just trimmed off the overhang around my panel.
Next, I stamped the Keep Calm And Float On sentiment and then added the image with foam tape. I thought about added sequins or enamel dots, but in the end decided against it. Sometimes less is more!! :)
Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you will play along with us with your summer themed card!!
Dana
