I'm here with my second card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp A Faire 2016. This card is for the Master Color Recipes, I picked the White Center, Mark Rothko colors to use on my card.
I started with the Garden Variety and Garden Variety II stamp sets. I pulled all the colors in the recipe True Black, Terracotta Tile, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz. For the leaves I pulled out Ripe Avocado.
For all my stamping (except for a couple flowers I stamped automatically) I did second generation stamping. I wanted a lighter, almost distress look to it and stamping with full strength ink would be too bright.
Once all my stamping was done I added a the sentiment to the card with full strength True Black ink. For a ground I scribbled Vintage Photo Distress Marker on a clear block and added it with a paint brush and water to my card.
The card stock is not water color paper, so you get a kind of streaky, blotchy look to it, which I don't mind, I think it helps it look more real! I also added a few darker areas with the fine tip of the marker while the paper was still wet. Last I added a few sequins, then folded my card so my card is actually a one layer card!
Thanks for stopping by!!
