Love Will Never Fail You

Hello!!!

How is everyone? Well .... its cold again and later this week... yep you guess it! More SNOW!!! I think we will have snow still hanging around until June!!! But anyway i'm sharing a nice spring card to brighten your day!!

I followed the color part of Unity's Be Inspired Challenge:

I started by using my Inktense colored pencils and coloring thick lines down a panel of watercolor paper. Then i used water to spread the color up just shy of the line above it, these made a white stripe in between each color.

Once that was dry i stamped the flower image in brown ink. I debated on weather to color in or do something with the flowers, but i moved on with the sentiment and at the end decided it really didn;t need anything else (and i didn't want to mess it up and have to start again! lol)

I used a die cut circle, also from watercolor paper, to stamped the sentiment. Then i used the dark blue colored pencil and colored small lines along the right sides of the word Love. Then with a just wet (but not too wet) brush i pulled out the blue to create shadows. I also used some brown dye ink and little mixed with the blue colored pencil. I then went in and smooth the stamped ink a bit too.

After the circle was dry, i added it to my card base with foam dots. I trimmed the corner of the card to match the curve of the circle. Last i added a few sequins that matched each colored stripe.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  2. You and water-colouring: guaranteed recipe for stunning creations, and your card here is yet more evidence! Your colours, image and layout are so eye-catching; a lovely backdrop for the pretty, cas sentiment! Have you seen the sketch challenge over at Lesley's blog (Always Playing with Paper - the post is titled The Challenge & I Slipped)? I think your card would be a perfect fit! Hope spring comes your way soon; snow in June is icky!
