Stamping For Families

Hello!

Today I am participating in a special Stamping For Families hop, awareness for the children being separated by our awful President and congressional Republicans. I don't go into politics on my blog even though it's disaster after disaster with Trump. The more people that are aware of this the better! The more people that can see others are out here and do not stand for this, the better! We can all do something, big or small, it all matters! Call your representatives, make a donation or volunteer! Everything and anything makes a difference!

On to my card, I started with a chevron background die from Papertrey Ink. I used it to cut out a white chevron from felt and then cut it multiple times from colored felt. With adhesive, I adhered it to a white card base and filled in the chevron with different colors.

Then I used Mama Elephants In My Heart stamp set. I colored all the little children with Spectrum Noir and Copic Markers. Then I fussy cut them out.

One of the sentiments in the set really spoke to me. A message to anyone affected by Trump and the Republicans: May You Be Protected In All That You do And Know That Our Thoughts Are Always With You. Basically, you are not alone! I stamped and white embossed this on black cardstock.

I added the sentiment to the card and arrange the kids around the sentiment. So the kids were not lonely I added a few of the tiny images in the set, the butterfly, snail, and turtle.

You can check out other crafters in the link up below! Some are having giveaways! You can participate too by adding a card to the link up!

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my post. If your a fellow resister, hello and welcome. If you're not, well stay if you want but I hope you will wake up and see what is really going on around you. Children need their families!

  3. I thought this blog hop was to bring people together! Your remarks about "our awful President and Republicans" sure doesn't help with that cause. You turned me off right away. 😣😲🤔😩

  4. Oh my goodness Dana! Your card is so precious! A real tear jerker. Yours is a strong voice my friend. You may hit a nerve with some but pull at the heartstrings of others. I love your tenacity.

  5. I agree with Halomom above; this is a much too complicated issue to assign blame. When you listen with an open heart you realize that our President was doing what he must do to abide within the laws as they are now on the book. I think he courageously took the issue on his shoulders so that something would get done (just as he has done so many times). Personally I believe him to be a very caring person who knows you have to stir the pot to get the meal done so you can take care of your people; you take the heat so the job gets done.
On another note I love your card and it's sentiment. Keep an open heart and pray for our elected officials.

  6. I don't agree with some commenters--you're allowed to call anyone awful that you like, it's your blog. Beautiful sentiment on this card.

  7. What a perfect sentiment on your card with all those cute kiddos!

I also hope people realize that you have the right to comment as you wish on your own blog; thoughtful disagreement/debate is what makes America stronger. :)

  9. I'm with you, we all have the freedom to express our thoughts and opinions. As adults, we should be able to have a free and open discussion of things that matter to us. It is fine to disagree, and that is an ok thing, but we all have freedom to speak as we wish. Your card is unbelievably touching. I love that human rainbow!

  11. It's definitely a hop that will get you mixed reactions.. my heart is with you..I am going to try to link something up for sure, but even if I don't know that you have my support. I wish I'd hopped over here sooner. My heart hurts for these families and it does good to see that there are other people who do care. Every day I watch the news and shake my head and good for you for taking a stand.
