Be Inspired Challenge #52

Hi There!!

Did you see the new The Alley Way Stamps May release?!?!! If you didn;t your going to want to check them out!!! Click here to see the stamps!!!

Its finals this week so i've been super busy!! (sorry for not commenting on anyone's blog! I'll get back to it Sunday!!) As of this morning i still have a project and one more test to take tomorrow! Then.... the new semester starts Monday!! Yep, you guessed it no rest for the weary!! But at least it will be a few weeks before another test!! lol

So today i'm sharing a card i made the week before for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge #52. Play along for your chance to win 2 stamp sets and a Guest Design spot for a future Be Inspired Challenge!! Here is the inspiration photo!

Kind of a tough one, right?!?! So to me the flower seams to be exploding, so i pulled out Bubbling Over and an idea started forming!!

I started by making a panel from watercolor paper and using a die to cut one corner short. Then I stamped the cute scientist from Bubbling Over. On a piece of scrap watercolor paper i stamped, then cut out one of the flasks. Then i stamped the cloud above the hand. I also created a mask for the cloud and the scientists hand and head. I lightly inked in a green cloud, extending it across my panel.

Then i pulled out various hearts and circles from a couple different TAWS sets (see my supply list below for all the sets used!). I second generation stamped them randomly in my green cloud. Next with a little bit of grey ink and water i added some shadows to my stamped cloud. Then i used a razor blade and cut the scientists hand (top and bottom), then slipped the flask through, and wa-la it looks like he's holding the flask. I also colored the flask with water and the same green ink.

To finish it off, i stamped the 'You Blow My Mind' sentiment and i inked up a scrap piece of paper with the same green ink i used for the cloud. I added the green paper to my card base and then added my panel.

I decided to not color the scientist because i thought it was more striking with the only color being the green!

Thanks for stopping by! Play along for your chance to win 2 stamp sets and a Guest Design spot for a future Be Inspired Challenge!!

  2. You've been busy in your academic world, Dana, and I'm sure your break, brief as it is, is more than welcomed! I agree with Jessi: glad that writing tests and papers aren't part of my must-do tasks! Your card = brilliant!! A fabulous, fun, clever take on the photo that, yes, is challenging! Fabulous!! Enjoy your 'day off' immensely, and have an excellent start to next semester tomorrow!

  3. I love the punch of green and that you left the mad scientist uncolored. Awesome CAS design!
